This ship was built in 1981 as the ferry "Prinsesse Ragnhild" for the Jahre Line. It served on the relation Oslo - Kiel until 1990 for Jahre Line and from 1990 till 2008 for Color Line. Wrecked in Alang in 2015.
Awesome video. Can't wait to see more. I remember following your IG and thinking wow is he alone?? That's kinda crazy, but cool at the same time. I wanna try a solo vacation. Lol.
I don't think I would have been able to go on the cruise alone---I would feel strange and like people would be looking at me. I hope you had a good time.
Ah, just loved MS Prinsesse Ragnhild (now Bahamas Celebration), when it was travelling from Oslo To Hirtshals. Miss her, then it was this collision, couldnt repair, and now its sold for scrap ;(
...i also loved this ferry when it sailed from Kiel to Oslo. Have been on this vessel a few times. What a pity that it will be scrapped now. Do you have an idea where it will be scrapped?
Thanks for sharing your experience! lol just a few questions though! 1. Did you have two deserts??! Haha no judging, I would've too! 2. Did you go alone? 3. How would you rate your overall experience? Again, thanks for sharing! You have the best video out here on this 👍
Thanks for the great video Is this ship the same as what they call Grand Celebration? Holiday cruise line? We are thinking of maybe going on a cruise and I got a call about an offer to go on the Grand Celebration. Looks like if you want totally luxury then you go royal or carnival but if low key and not as fancy is ok then this will do. Would you say that is true? Thanks again for the great video :)
Lori Bernhardt I don't think this was the grand celebration. I believe its a step below that. - I wasn't expecting much because I've been on a Norwegian one and I was pleasantly surprised on this one. It was nice an low-key for sure. If you don't mind it, then its a great little get away :)
+Lori Bernhardt It also depends how much time you have. Rarely do the bigger lines offer 2-day cruises. The big ones also do not offer packages with (land) stays in the Bahamas like this one does.
Thanks for your inside view - I loved your video, gives rookie travelers such as myself a little heads up. I'm setting sail (same type of package deal thing) in a couple days! 😳 did your package make you do a tour (time share selling garbage?) lol
omg, 220v, thanks for the heads up! Going next month, you saved me, I have a couple of adapters Im going to bring. I bet they sell them there for $40 or more. That was not cool.
What a disappointing experience. The food looked good, but if you say it was mediocre, I believe you. The H20 in that pool looked really nice and refreshing, but it also looked like a kids area, so no dice for me! haha I'll take your advice and go Norwegian if I ever go on a cruise!
How much you pay for Port Tax? is that per person? and what about the outlet, do you need an special adapter or something to plug your phone? do they let you take your own drinking water on board? hahaha
Spend your money on a real cruise instead of this broken down vintage 1986 Ex Carnival tub. That boat should have been cut up years ago yet here it is..
+planedudea380 The ship doing this itinerary now is the old Carnival Celebration, now called Grand Celebration for Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. The one in the vid is its predecessor. I got here following a search for the current one. Confusing.
omg ..I just broke up with my boyfriend about a week ago ..I go on a birthday cruise every year ..and in approx. 14 days I will be alone on a cruise for 9 days ..I am so scared !!this didn't help ;]
u get something from ROYAL SEAS CRUISES in the mail or you can call. deny all their offers on the phone and get to the last person were they offer hotel, cruise and rental car. just pay taxes and port fees with $99 charge for fort lauderdale hotel then you have to go to timeshare presentation.
why would they give you an lgbt room if you are such a small percentage of the population? that would be like me complaining they didnt make a room for middle aged montreal expos fans.... millenial attitudes are me me me
Because they want to be treated like they're different and special and yet accepted as if they are the same. They want it both ways and it makes no sense.
I have absolutely NOTHING against the LGBT community, but when you sarcastically said "thanks for the representation, guys", it kind of pushed me to say something. Just because you prefer your own gender or what-have you, does not mean you get a special room. It should NOT mean you get a special room or special services. You want to be treated EQUALLY, do you not? That's not equal treatment. That is putting ONE group of people ABOVE another for NO justifiable reason. You can't have it both ways. You want society to be accepting and yet you expect to be treated differently. Yet, when you're treated differently, you claim people are being biased against you. This is what pisses some people off. Straight people don't get their own room. It's called a bar and it's open to EVERYBODY. And that shouldn't be a problem for you, either! You're a person, right? There are very likely other members of that community on the ship. It's called socializing and getting to know people. That's what a cruise is supposed to help promote. If you're uncomfortable with that, why are you even on there??? Makes no sense. Other communities can't get their own representation. We all kind of have to MINGLE with each other and deal with it. When did that become such a problem???
i don't think going on a crusie alone would be so bad. you could just sit outside and relax! or you could maybe meet another guy there who is also alone lol. why doesn't that ever happen?!
I often wonder why I don't meet others who go places alone also or hang out alone a lot. Its like we're in this culture especially in California where people who are accustomed to being alone or not meeting anyone new don't want to just open up on a personal level. I try to find the first opportunity but am usually the type who has to have something stick out like something you're wearing.
$3.75 for H2O? I wouldn't pay $3.75 for H2O from Zac Efron's shower. Unfortunately, religious organizations have been building schools and teaching hate throughout economically depressed countries in the Caribbean. The island countries seem to have been more effected. Mexico, Costa Rica, and Panama were fine, but we were actually warned several times by locals about PDA in the Bahamas, Jamaica, Virgin Islands, and Barbados.
***** LOL, I really didn't think it through, but if he wasn't there, I would probably just steal all his stuff. If he was there, in the shower, I can't see me leaving without police escort, after lots of begging, my complete humiliation, and loss of consciousness. I'm not creepy fan about many celebrities, but that man...he really is "like something a gay guy created in a lab."
