Hello the crushing will depend on the wall thickness of the tube and the radius you are bending it on - not on whether the machine is powered or not. If the wall is thin and the radius is tight then you will need a mandrel inside the tube, there are manual mandrel benders and powered mandrel benders. Power gives you more control and more capacity but won't over come the crushing. I hope this helps, please contact us is if you would like more help or to purchase a machine.

It gives me very little confidence at 35 seconds in to the video when he pushes the buttons on the Delta screen and the metal around it starts to flex.

Why do different manufactures of rotary draw benders recommend different CLR's tooling with near exact machine design? Like on firm say's they can bend 2"sch 10 pipe with a 5.9 CLR . Most manufactures recommend a fair bit more CLR?

A lot will depend on the strength of the machine, a tighter bend requires more strength to achieve. Also the tooling design plays a massive part, the inside of the pipe will shrink and the outside will stretch, controlling this shape change will allow you to achieve better results - without a mandrel we can create bends as tight as 2.5D depending on the wall thickness,
