In this clip I replaced the grab handle LED’s.
Some of mine were not working, this was a easy job to do that didn’t take long.
I ordered them from Prima Leisure

I have just replaced one of my rear light LED in the grab handle on my series 1 Unicorn. On taking off the grey cover it had been filled with so much sealant around the cable it pulled on the cable and snapped it. Unlike the front lights the cable runs down through a channel in the sandwich construction of the rear panel so getting the cable down there was not going to be easy. First job was to remove the bottom corner cover (3 screws) to expose the terminal block. The box connectors on the new cable were just long enough to make feeding the cable into the channel and making the 90 degree turn downward, very difficult. Somehow the cable would need to be pulled through but my old cable had broken. So I put a lead shot on some fishing line and dropped it down the channel hooking it out out the bottom hole behind the corner cover. Then I tied the line to one of the box connectors while folding the second connector back in line to make the cable as slim as possible. Then pulling on the line while carefully guiding the connectors into the channel I was able to pull the new cable through. Plugging in the the connectors and sealing the lower hole and replacing the corner cover completed the job.

Hi Phillip, I did exactly the same thing about 5 weeks ago. I mentioned it on a recent vid. I used the copper wire out of twin & earth to fish the cable back through. I joined the wires together and siliconed the grey covers back down. The grab handles at the front and back have been known to be the source of leaks into the van so make sure they are well sealed. Thanks for watching, Martin 😊

Happy new year Martin another informative video. Just one on the cleaning Martin for fiddly areas like the grab handle try pvc cleaner does a good job, eats the dirt and no need to use the screwdriver which has the potential to scratch the van.

Good video again Martin 👍👍 ive got a couple of leds out to on my 2011 Valencia didn’t even know you could change them but after watching this video ive just ordered 2 sets for mine too . While i was up at caravan doing a few jobs i had a dummy run following your video and its spot on thanks . Just. A heads up while i was doing a few jobs in my van i noticed under the front seats on sink side of van there is a rubber flexy pipe for Alde heating that goes over a wooden frame and under draws the pipe had been rubbing on the woodwork and took a nice v section out of pipe after talking to 3 other people with similar Bailey caravans of simillar age at our storage yard and having look at there’s looks like this is a common problem has all there’s are the same might be a good idea to have a look at yours too to stop any future issues . Keep up the good work martin happy new year cheers mark 👍👍

Excellent Practical Demonstration, of those parts we hope, we do not have to change? You have the skill and ability to try things 'I can do it' mentality! I salute you Martin. (its great seeing all these practical vids of yours, they give me confidence, I am not kidding?) look forward to some more in new year, (am sure more planned) anyway thanks for a nice great vid again mate!

Hi Bryn, thanks for your kind words. One of the main purposes of doing this channel was to show other caravaners that you can do most jobs on a caravan yourself, I wonder how much that job would cost at a dealer! I have a few jobs planned, however the main thing that stops me doing more is the cost of some of the parts, that’s why I do other content such as looking at Caravans, Motorhomes and holiday vlogs. Thanks again for your continued feedback and support, Cheers Martin 👍

Hi Martin, we had a 2011 bailey Olympus, which we traded in this year for a new coachman. The coachman dealer found damp in the front lockers under the plastic trays, make sure you check yours if fitted. Lost £400 on the trade in, not too bad. The previous dealer who serviced the Bailey won’t get any business from us as they had always indicated we did not have damp.
@TheCaravanNut

Hi David, At the moment I’m damp free. I have heard lots of stories about these front lockers so will keep my eye on it. Hope you are enjoying the Coachman, solid vans! Thanks for comments and watching. Martin 👍

Excellent video, thanks for posting this. I have to replace one of my rear leds on my Unicorn S1. Any idea how to get access to the spade terminals on the rear please. I'm hoping I don't have to start taking panels off.
@TheCaravanNut
@TheCaravanNut 5 лет назад
Hi, I’ve not done the rear ones, however I would imagine if you remove the covers on the handles you might be able to pull the cables through. Make sure you re silicon over the hole where the cables enter the van. All the cables for the rear lights go through the plastic corner mouldings and into the van at the bottom corners. Hope that helps, let me know how you get on. cheers Martin 🙂

If Lunar make them and they are the right size then I don’t see why not. Ours are connected to running lights so only come on with car lights. Cheers, Martin

Hi martin where are the plugs on the rear led grab handle lights i have the red led`s but can`t find where the wires go , thanks
@TheCaravanNut
@TheCaravanNut 2 года назад
The rear plug is behind the bumper, however the cable is in the wall. They have channelled a small section out for the cable to go in, you will need some stiff cable/copper wire to put the cable down. You might have to cut the plug off as that won’t fit in the cable channel. Hope that helps, cheers

Hi Can you do a video on how to remove back lights on a bailey pegasus 462 . Afraid of breaking mine thanks Denis
@TheCaravanNut
@TheCaravanNut Год назад
If they are the same as mine they are a pain to get out. At the bottom of each lens there is a small cut out in the plastic surround, you put a flat screwdriver into the hole and push on a spring clip and pull the lens towards you. Will have a look through my vids as I’m sure I’ve don’t it in one of them. Cheers

Is it easy to change the led lights on the rear grab handles
@TheCaravanNut
@TheCaravanNut 5 лет назад
It’s a bit trickier, the cable runs down a channel inside the back panel of the van. You have to take the corner bumper section off to reveal the entry point for the cable. I recently repaired a broken wire on one of mine and used the copper wire out of twin & earth cable to fish the wire through. Fiddly job but doable. Make sure you seal the holes well. cheers Martin 🙂
