I was once on vacation with my family, staying in a cheap motel (which I'm pretty sure no longer exists) at Manns Harbor, NC, and I brought a cheap cast net from home. The place I stayed had docks on an inlet, at the back end of which there was some kind of crab processing facility. The facility apparently dumped the waste material (read: chum) directly into the shallow water, which attracted vast quantities of bait fish. I would fish from the dock and EVERY CAST brought up GALLONS of shiners, which I'd sell to a new by bait shop for a pittance. I sold them by the 5-gallon bucketful. Kept me in pocket money the entire trip, for 15 minutes with each morning. That's also the trip I watched UFOs fly around in the upper atmosphere for almost an hour, but that's another story...

@@abhijitbhushan @leahlockettharris4579 Late one afternoon in the summer of 2000, me and 2 other people, friends of the family, went to the shore near the Manns Harbor Bridge to Roanoke Island, to go fishing. I found close to the exact spot on Google Earth, if that interests you. The pier/dock thing wasn't there, at the time: (35.9129101, -75.7699964) Anyway, after being there for about half an hour one of us (I'm not sure which) looked up, and noticed something strange in the sky. Have you ever seen the ISS going over at night, or maybe a satellite with a blinking light? It was an object that appeared about that bright in the sky, despite it still being late afternoon daylight. It was a pale, glowing orange color, and though it was a bit too distant to make out a distinct shape, it appeared roughly spherical, and solid. For some reason, it made me think of those old, spherical Union 76 gas station signs. Not that exact color, but it they had a similar feel when they glowed at night. At first, I wanted to dismiss it as some kind of mirage, or trick of the light, maybe a high-altitude plane or cloud reflecting sunlight. But, it didn't waver, or change in brightness, and it MOVED. I know it had to have been at a very high altitude, because it would pass behind the occasional band of cirrostratus clouds, going from merely dimming when behind thin ones, to disappearing entirely behind denser ones. So, anywhere between 20,000 and 45,000 feet, though I suspect they were on the high end of the scale. The first weird thing (aside from their existing, at all) was the apparent SPEED at which initial object moved. It described arcs panning nearly the _*entire sky*_, from close to the horizon, passing overhead, to nearly the opposite horizon, in a mere 2, MAYBE 3, seconds. In other words, faster than ANY object should be able to move, given that, at that altitude, to travel such a path that quickly would mean moving at MANY MILES per second. Literally faster than speeds faster than meteors I've seen. Now, if it did this once, appearing, streaking across the sky, then disappearing, I'd have written it off as a weirdly dim meteor or space junk re-enter ing and burning up, despite the fact that it left no visible trail of plasma. But, it DIDN'T. It would move from one position to another, then STOP, then move again in another direction. Sometimes, it changed direction instantly, not moving in a wide turn or slowing at all, just suddenly zipping off in a new direction, sometimes at a slight angle, sometimes at a right angle or acute angle, sometimes straight back in the opposite direction. Watching this behavior for probably 15 minutes was enough to have us well an truly disturbed, but, as mentioned, this was only the first of its baffling attributes. We continued watching, all thoughts of fishing abandoned, entirely engrossed in trying to reason out an explanation for what we were seeing, when something new happened. The object, without any indication or change beforehand, SPLIT INTO TWO, with each object moving independently, but in the same manner as the single object had, moving at inconceivable speeds (continuing to occasionally dissappear behind high-altitude clouds, still leaving no trail), identical in appearance and behavior but separate and distinct. Then, one of them split AGAIN. It was impossible to track all three simultaneously, even with all three of us watching, as they seemed to meet as they passed, not merging but overlapping. Then, they started disappearing and reappearing. Sometimes you'd see one just blink out, sometimes it would dim and fade, and only to reappear (or perhaps be replaced?) elsewhere. There mate have been more than three visible at once, as actually counting them became difficult, but there were at LEAST three present at one time. They continued zipping around, utterly silent, as the sun got closer to the horizon and the sky dimmed. They never seemed to get brighter than they were initially, though it was easier to make them out, for a while. For almost an hour, we watched them, by the end of which we were well and truly freaked out. Not unnerved, but DISTURBED. We weren't terrified, or even truly scared, but you don't see something like that without it affecting you. We watched until, one by one, we lost track of them, until there was only one, then none. I don't think we actually saw the last one disappear, we just suddenly became aware we didn't see any of them, anymore. By that time, it was starting to get toward twilight, and we had to navigate along the narrow, overgrown strip of sand along the shore, back to the hotel. We never caught anything, except a case of the heebie-jeebies. Anyway, that's my UFO story. I didn't bother to proof-read, just typed out as I remember it. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them. In the unlikely event one of you is an undercover Man- or Woman-In-Black, please consider recruiting me, as an alternative to black-bagging me. 😁

@garywaddell1343
@garywaddell1343 3 месяца назад
@@cuencaview8303 What you refer to as a "gun ban" doesn't actually exist. I'm ex-miltary and used to be an avid hunter. All our country has done is conduct police checks on people who want to own firearms. I don't think anyone can argue that. Anyone in Australia can own firearms as long as you comply with the law. However, nobody can own military automatic or semi-automatic firearms. I think that's ok if all you need to do is hunt. The myth that Australia has totally banned firearms seems to run rife in America for some reason. That is a false narrative. As for a ban on cast nets, I think sustainability of fishing stocks is common sense. It isn't an unlimited resource and if you think otherwise then you are an uneducated moron.

Humans don't really eat them either so they don't run the same risks of over harvesting as trophy fish or table fare. Your argument would actually make sense if they were going for something that people actually fish for to keep, at this point it is equivalent to trying to protect something that is already highly prolific or even invasive though.

I’ve been saying this for years. My thoughts are that if they put in Chucky and Bride of Chucky together it’d work as a main fighter. Like Farra/Tore. Bride of Chucky is on Chucky’s shoulders. Then they could be tall enough.
