You can shoot a bait that is 50mm wide and 250mm long with a 7 ounce lead weight up to 350 yards, very few people can cast that size bait more than 100 yards. Here I show how to prepare such a bait where the bait fish is bigger than the ice mould. Watch my other videos to see how to prepare a bullet with only a steel grab sinker for sliding live bait.

What are you wrapping the fish with prior to dropping it in tube and why is this necessary?

I wrap the bait with fine elastic string. This keeps the bait tied up closely with the line that leads to your swivel as well as keeping the bait and hooks nicely tied up.

He is wrapping it with fishing line so its tight on the hook and wont just slide off from the current or smalller fish nibbling.

I didnt see the lead sinker being tied to the trace...or did I miss it?

The sinker is on its own line with a swivel that slides up and down the main line. The bait is also on its own line with a swivel that gets tied to the main line.

His setup is not right he has his sinker sliding his leader .like a Carolina rig.

The Bait Launcher is now available to buy. It comes in 2 sizes, a 4 meter barrel that breaks in 2 x 2 meter lenghts and a smaller version with a 2.5 meter barrel. Both stands can be taken apart for transport. The 4 meter barrel comes with a 9 liter detachable pressure vessel and the 2.5 meter barrel comes with a 4.5 liter detachable pressure vessel.
