لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ “'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor].” (14:7) The above rule is not just in good times and when we are getting a lot of neimahs. But it is equally applicable in tough times when life gets tough and we feel there is no one facing more difficulties than us. At that moment when we try to look at those below us, suddenly we realise we still are so blessed. We spend tough times mostly in sadness and depression. Change the approach. Count your blessings in tough times too. There will be many. And then see how quickly help comes from Allah as per promise in this verse.

In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind...nothing will make you more comfortable than bringing a smile to someone's face and helping someone when they were least expecting it...May Allah guide us...

Episode 28: Bait Ul Uqba During the 12 years of prophethood, some people from Yathrib came to meet the Prophet (peace be upon him) during the Hajj season again. Before this, it has been mentioned that six people who came from Yathrib accepted Islam and returned to Madina. Among these 12 companions, there were Jabir bin Abdullah, Muadh bin Al-Harith, Ubaida bin Samit, and Yazid bin Talba, most of whom belonged to the Khazraj tribe. They met the Prophet (peace be upon him) in a valley near Mina called Uqba and pledged allegiance to him, hence it's called the First Pledge of Al-Uqba, with twelve people involved. The term 'pledge' means placing one's hand in the hand of a leader and promising obedience. The conditions of the pledge were as follows, narrated in Sahih Bukhari by Ubaida bin Samit: "You will not associate anything with Allah, you will acknowledge Allah as your Lord, you will not steal, you will not commit adultery, you will not kill your children, you will not attribute any lie to me deliberately." After pledging allegiance, the Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed them to return to Yathrib and appointed Musab bin Umair as their companion to preach Islam in Yasrib. Musab bin Umair was from a wealthy family in Makkah. When he accepted Islam, his mother became angry and emotionally blackmailed him, threatening hunger strike if he didn't abandon Islam. Musab bin Umair replied that he couldn't give away his faith. After a few days, his mother ended the hunger strike, but Musab bin Umair faced a lot of hardships. He was severely wounded in the Battle of Uhud, and achieved martyrdom. He was chosen for Dawah because of his strong personality. He used to live a luxurious life before Islam, and his fragrance was so distinct that people recognized him passing through the streets of Makkah. He underwent severe poverty after accepting Islam. These companions sacrificed a lot for Islam. Musab bin Umair played a significant role in converting the entire city of Yasribto Islam. He was a handsome young man, eloquent and impactful in speech. Muadh bin Jabal who was chosen to be sent to Yemen by prophet pbuh also had similar characteristics, and his noticeable feature was his white teeth. People used to call him the one with the white teeth.

Who is more astray than those who call upon others besides Allah, who cannot answer them until the Day of Resurrection and who are unaware of their supplications? (Quran 46:5-6) Those you call upon besides Him do not own even the skin of a date-stone. If you call upon them, they do not hear you, and if they did hear you, they could not answer you. On the Day of Resurrection, they will deny your idolatry.(Quran 35:14)
