Baitcasting Fishing with Shimano Exsence DC

@@InfinityFishing It is a new in box 17 model. It is smooth as butter and casts very well. I may get a 22 model down the road a bit but for now I am totally happy with the 17.

Hey mate , exsence DC is nice practical but not problem free. The narrow spool is causing braid digging and cuts because the line is not regularly overlayed like you see in daiwa reels.This is a huge problem if you go with thin smooth braids anything below 1.5pe you gotta be carefull.The varivas 4x braid has saved me from many troubles for this reason , not much issues. Secpnd problem the spool bearings is not resistant to saltwater after a few months you start to notice the reel is noisy and not that smooth as before.But the Dc braking system is solid no issues it keeps going. In my opinion antares is much better choise especially antares 16 but it is not Saltwater reel. the 2021 antares and 18 antares dc md are great but they dont have drag clickers.. the new 22 exsence dc comes with magnessium spool and theysay they fixed the braid digging issue but 80k yen for a reel is too much.55-60k yen is ok but id not pay anything above for exsence dc.You can buy 2 reels in that price.

@@InfinityFishing Thanks for the reply!! You can fix the bearing issue. I bought very good quality ceramic bearings at hedgehog studio JP, I installed them on the daiwa coastal approximately 4 years ago and they still turn as if they were new.

Yeah im planning to get from hedgehog .maybe hybrid ones for this reel

​​​@@InfinityFishing Costal shore fishing with a baitcaster is the best if weather allows you. (Icy conditions are tuff) So you run the 17 Exsence DC or the 22? I am asking because you said you had issues with diggin and that the 22 supposedly fixed the diggin issue. Hence you have the 17? It further surprises me Shimano didn't anticipated diggin issues and addressed that as it is a reel made for PE-line... Daiwa made their PE baitcasters with a faster moving level winder. Why, what features make you prefer the Antares DC over the Exsence DC? I must say I'm surprised the Excence give you corrosion at the bearings, it's made for salt water use. I run a 12 Exsence DC 9-10 years now and I rinse it in fresh water after every outing, no corrosion yet.

İt depends on situation Dc MD is better with casting over 20gr with 2pe and thicker line has broad spool better overlaying of braid 2017 exsence dc is better with casting 15-30 gr Lures with 1.5 pe line but more prone to dig braid due to narrow spool 2022 exsence dc is better from both with lighter spool Dcmd doesnt have drag clicker

you need fishing license for shore fishing but mostly nobody asks you if you have license , buy a million chance if you're caught the fee is 1000 aed ( roughly 350 dollars ) you can go offshore without license
