Julie Lefler a bigger problem we have in Illinois is the " cultural release of Aisian carp, it seems that Asians believe that if you want to eat a fish you have to buy two since they only want live fish they won't buy already processed fish then if you release the second fish you will have good luck, I once called the DNR to investigate a local fish market that was advertising the sale of life Asian carp, ( because live transport of these invasive species is illegal here) as a result they got raided, and forced to dispose of their entire inventory of live fish,( they just had to process them, once they did that they could still sell them) and were given a rather hefty fine, as was their supplier.

I had a lot of snakes last year try to get my fish. They have evolved they would wait fur my bobber to go down. They would get in bucket and take some out even. Love watching

I'm shocked that someone who lives in the south doesn't immediately bleed his catfish before putting on ice. Also in processing catfish you should cut out the belly meat then the two fillets. The belly meat is great for nuggets, and the fillets fried in beer batter are top notch.

I live here in Arkansas and love fishing for big cats. I have to say that the folks that comment about what they're doing wrong, and what you should or shouldn't be doing, puts a damper on the enjoyment and purpose of this video. Nobody cares about comments from the "fish police." No one ask for your expertise on how to catch fish or unsolicited advice. I don't tell people how to fish and I Don't care to hear how to fish from others? They had a good time, caught fish, and did it safely. I greatly appreciated the video. I hope to see more. But the trolls could make a man not want to share anything on here because of the negative comments. If you don't have anything nice or positive to share in the comments, then Don't comment. I get so tired of "know it all," people. I love all the great encouraging feedback from all the nice folks that left positive and kind words for them.

I dont remember if I ever told you Cole, how to catch more cats. Cut the tail off of your bait fish. Just short enough to add a touch more blood in the water for scent, and to make it so the bait cant swim away from your target fish, you are trying to catch. Also your bait will stress less, and live longer on the hook. RU-vid might have an issue with cutting your baits tail off. Also try bullheads for bait if you have a place to catch bullheads.

Great bait.. throw in a couple goldfish..(if you know a good goldfish hole)! Lol!!

I used to tie 9/O stainless hooks on 360# tarred nylon to the stumps, where large flathead are caught. I'd like to have some good fish to et myself.

Looks like the lake will be getting renovated starting in September. They are going to vote in I think July to lift limits for the lake before the renovation.

You need to put a little portable aerator on that cooler you know the kind of runs on a couple D cell batteries will square box with a hose and a AirStone

Cole on yalls paddles cut a notch not a big one just big enough to hook your drop line .it makes grabbing your drop line under trees and not leaning so far out of your boat

Cole; I think your main reason you didn’t catch any flatheads or big blues right now even with perfect bait like that is because they are all spawning. We are catching them like crazy right now noodling. The next week or so should be the same and then I’m sure they will go right back to biting. Also, I’m not sure if the AR laws are the same in your county but down here in Ouachita county, we aren’t allowed to catch bait and relocate them to another body of water to use for fishing. Might want to make sure on that. 👍 Great video and keep them coming!

I batter my fish with mustard and cornmeal a couple of times a month. I prefer brown mustard.

Try small bull heads...they will live on the hook for days...They will live in a cooler for a l8ng time

Cole come on down to Louisiana and let me put you on some giant flathead on set lines we have been catching multiple 50 plus lb flathead every time we set the lines

Green sunfish are amazing flathead bait but if you can get your hands on some bullhead that’s when those giant flathead show up and of all my years of chasing giant flathead i have learned that there is no such thing as a bait that’s too big I have used bullhead well over a pound and cought some monster flathead also bluegill hand size and bigger are hard to beat but make sure you check your state laws because I know Arkansas has some crazy fishing laws
