Bajaj Classic SL (Chetak) scooter. Made in India in 1998 and based on old Vespa largeframe models.
It features a two stroke, single cylinder, air cooled engine very similar to Vespa Sprint engine from Piaggio, with a few modifications: different stroke (54 mm) and larger bore compared to other 125cc Vespa engines powered by 2% fuel mixture.
This scooter was made for foreign markets and delivered to Italy.
Double seats were available upon request. Spare wheel cover was supplied with older Chetak models from early 90s.

Really happy to see this scooter in Italy and most surprising thing is this wasn't used from 20 years and it was in stock conditions this shows ur interest in caring vehicles the engine sounds stock condition

I have the same scooter and it was not starting . There were too many problems. My dad had to find the spare parts in the market It was very hard to find those parts in the market. But fortunately we found the parts and now its working properly ❤️

Grazie, ma è la verità...io avevo una vespa Piaggio 50 special ,faro quadrato, tutta bella preparata...purtroppo l'ho dovuta vendere per necessità..adesso ho una vespa 50 Et2,2t (rigorosamente 2t,naturalmente)tutta originale che la utilizzo per lavoro, facendo il porta pizze da 4 anni, ma è nulla a confronto...unica nota positiva è il consumo...con 5€ di miscela vado 2 giorni...ma le prestazioni sono ridicole:)

Manish sangawat - Nice scooter. Sir yu are from which place and country.I am from India. Jodhpur city(rajasthan), one thing told me I also have scooter bajaj super excel,1998 model, the scooter machine run, it's body colour fade.tyre goes end. But sir in yr case by see yr video how much yr scooter in 22 years run on road. Are yr scooter keep in home garage for long periods, it look like new brand. It it run what mileage is of scooter, it body colour or Tyre is new. Sir are you chance yr new tyre. Sir plz reply to me......I also updated my old scooter 1998 model ........in a new one brand body type........

@@marben1988it's 100% Restored one The Kick Rod of Classic Model is looks like LML one But this Classic Model Has fittted with Chetak Kick Rod so it is looks like a Restored one & Even Break Clutch Levers also Fitted of Chetak one' Classic Model Have Different Modelled little bit LML type

@@AnirudhAnumula Classic SL has curved kickstart lever, very similar to ones of old Vespas, but black painted and made of iron (not aluminium). I have two Classic SL scooters: the one you see in that video is the older one and lever did not came with grommet. The younger Classic SL is ECO model and features self starter motor and oil pump. That one came with curved lever with grommet. On both scooters I have replaced levers with spare parts for Vespa (painted in black) because aluminium levers bend in case of impact avoiding serious damage to crankcase.

Da manuale Bosch W8BC. Da anni circolo con la classica W5AC, tipicamente usata nei motori Vespa più simili a questo, e va benissimo. È più fredda ma comunque non si imbratta, consiglio questa.

@@Technomen1982 se hai lo scarico originale ed il filtro aria a doppia maglia, va bene la configurazione originale della colonna del massimo (freno aria 160, emulsionatore E3, getto massimo 92). Il getto del minimo originale è un 38-120, personalmente trovo vada meglio col 45-140. Sostituendo scarico e filtro è opportuno cambiare la configurazione, sulla falsa riga delle Vespa PX 125 e 150.

@@TheNikhilduggal may be Classic SL have not get great sales success in India compared to other models of the Chetak family, but it is an excellent scooter, robust and reliable like the Vespa from which it was derived. I have two of them (1998 model and 2001 model with electric start and oil mixer) and I am fully satisfied with them. I know that the Classic SL model has had good sales success in Colombia and other Asian and African countries.

It was not possible to register the scooter here in Italy as it is "Euro0" vehicle. In 2019 the scooter gained the right to be registered as historical vehicle. So for the first twenty years of its life that scooter was not used. I owned it since 2006 and for many years I have kept it preserved and manteined waiting for the registration.
