Bajaj Triumph Speed 400 - Better than Harley X440 🤔 

Note - Speed 400 is based on a hybrid platform - Perimeter with a bolt-on sun frame and cast aluminium swingarm and not trellis as I wrongly explained. Apologies, will try and fix it asap. 🙏

Hope the spares and service costs are reasonable unlike the BMW 310 cc bikes which lost its steam when aspirants came to know the expenses .

I am seriously impressed, i bought hunter 350 last year. If I hadn't this would be my bike.

What a beautiful looking motorcycle. Simple, no nonsense, classic, barebone motorcycling thrill. Speed 400 is going to be my first motorcycle.

This might be my upgrade from my legendary, 12 year old, CBR250R. I'll wait for the initial batches of this bike and will look for the user's long term reviews. Brilliant video though!

Availablity is still a great issue. For those who live in small cities or villages it's out of our reach. Otherwise the bike is great.

I still pity some people who argue the engine to be the same as the new KTM-Bajaj 400cc engine. All triumph classics have the right side chain drive as the same goes with speed 400, and the engine is 390+ cc. However, people still compare this with the same as KTM and bajaj 373cc and left side chain drive engine. They're so informed that they don't believe the manufacturers facts and their's own eyes.

Even though royal enfields have their own pros and cons like every other bike out there, the most important thing that keep them so strong in the market is not only their legacy but their pan india presence in terms of showrooms and service centers, and this is a very important aspect when a costumer makes a decision of buying a bike. Even though speed 400 is a product of Bajaj and Triumph, if this bike cant be bought from an already present bajaj showroom or cant be serviced in a bajaj showroom then i dont think there is anything 'BAJAJ' about it because it already looks like a triumph only. Its not just the low price that makes you buy a bike, but the after sales experience too. This can be a hit no doubt, but only if they make it available at places where REs and others are already present.

The battle lines are clear. There are two sets of people 1 who are more in tech enthusiasm than in mech and 2 who are purely in mechanical enthusiast. Harleys did okish on mechanical part but they nailed through in technical part by integrating color TFT display , esim, Bluetooth and app based controls. Triumph focused on mech like ride by wire , exhaust, engine, finish quality. So choice is clear and totally depends on your inclination of personality.

Amazing ... Since I cannot afford it by any means, I just washed my 1 year old FZS 25 went for a ride.

On the basis of look comparing it with Hunter may be justified, although there will be huge price deference. But comparing it with Classic and other models of RE is not justified. It doesn't give the proper retro charm at all. In my opinion, this bike will compete with KTMs and such others. RE is not going to be it's competition.

🫴But Harley 420 x is all metal build and more torquie. Just colour is simple. Which is ok😊

I am happy with Bajaj pulsar, bought it in 2005 and still i kept in my garage even-though i am not using the bike anymore .

They would have to open more dealerships . I literally live in a capital city of a state ( Bhopal , Madhya Pradesh ) and even we don't have Triumph here , forget about other smaller cities . Definitely interested in buying Scrambler in Oct if they manage to open a showroom here .

Few observations... 1. Looks good and Priced nicely to attract from the competition. 2. Bajaj service center support added advantage. 3. Quality might be better than Regular Bajaj bikes, but still a shade lower than Premium Japanese bikes. 4. Is it too little too late .. Cuz the competition is huge now... 5.. Lets wait and see the on road performance on Indian roads and maintenance cost. These will decide weather it will be a game changer or another wasted opportunity..

I like EVERYTHING about Triumph 400 vs Harley except that it is going to be serviced by Triumph. There aren't that many Triumph service centers also there is a premium attached to stepping into Triumph dealerships. I think I will wait for Himalayan 450

Here are my questions. 1) how intuitive are the switches and functions? 2)how is the ride quality? Firm or plush 3)how much vibration is felt on the foot pegs,tank, and handlebar ? 4)how big is the turning radius ? 5) does the engine run very hot ? 6)what is the actual gps or vbox measured topspeed? 7)how smooth and precise is the gearbox ? 8) how light is the clutch feel compared to cb350? 9)is this e20 fuel ready? 10) how good is the headlight throw? 11)and finally give ur rating on NVH level out of 10.

While it looks amazing in the overall finish - something is little unsettling @8:15 you'll see when you are revving there's a leak in the underbelly of the silencer 😅....hope it's just this unit's problem!

Good review. At that price, level of quality and speed, Triumph 400 is a real Bomb. This bike is well balanced, smooth refined, good looking, fast (160km/h) and eco 3.3L /100km. Big mistake not to put a USB charger (maybe later). Another interesting bike is the Harley Davidson 440 but is is heavy (190 kg, slower and drinks more petrol (3.8L-100km) nice looks, fat & louder but very good price and many help for driving, usb, turn to turn, call to accident...

On Road Price is Rs.3.39 so RE Super M 650 IS STILL GOOD OPTION

Every thing is good about bike, but.... but main concern is about service experience as Enfield has biggest network, do these bike will deliver same amount of service, even Honda Big Wing failed to deliver, due to which Higness such a good product but still it is struggling to survive in market.

Please discuss about its maintenance cost. Servicing cost, brake pads life and cost, How much Engine oil required? Etc etc

Triumph is not present in Tier 2 cities, so its availability is a major drawback. On the other hand, the X440 will be available at Hero's.

But it will erase category for Bajaj around 2lacs bracket. Right? Cannabilise own market?

I think Harley Davidson is known as the Life style brand which is the dream bike of every school boy because when I was watching history tv biker's battle ground, counting cars I think I will buy an Harley in future I know triumph is a far better motorcycle but the Harley Davidson Name itself is a emotion 😢😅😅

What about after sales service, is it confirmed that it will be available at hero showroom for purrchase and service. Because I am a BMW G310R owner and i suffered alot for its servicing and repair.too much headache for it. Let it be Triumph speed400 or harley x400. Do we have to wait for long period to know its actual situation for small town customers.

I hav heard that there is some kind of underlying engine issue with the bike. I visited reiuom dealership in chennai recently, they had 4 speeds with engine issues there. And even a lot of ppl are talking about replacing many core engine components. So yes it is a good bike, but bajaj does not do new engines well, it happened with bothe dukes in the past.
