i lived in nawagai for 3 years when my father's posting was in nawagai from 2000-03 ...it was a memorable time of life the people were very loving and that time was time of peace but from 2007 to 2012 circumstances was not peacful but from last few years the environment is again peacful.....
Bajaur is literally unexplored. The areas along the border line starting in Pashat (salarzai) and ending in Mamund are beautiful and hold good tourism potential, but unfortunately they are still not quite safe to visit. Other than the beauty of the terrain, the history of Bajaur is also very rich, particularly the geopolitical history of the area. From the times of Alexander to the last colonial rulers of Indian Subcontinent, Bajaur has always played important role in the Regional Geopolitics.
@ameel marwat When we talk about Safety with respect to Tourism then it is certainly different than what Safety is to the local people. Outskirts of Bajaur are still not safe.
Distt Bajaur is the safest place now a days. Here is a lot of tourists spot that grab tourists from many areas but unfortunately due to roads problems and insufficient resources some peoples did not come here
