Literally every business has the right to refuse service for literally any reason, We saw this during covid Some business made you go through all kinds of hoops, just cuz they could.
This is because the devil knows that Christ is true. Such is the focus on Christianity. This is why these gay men targeted this man. There were enough gay bakers for them to go to. They know this. It is an attack against God and His people.

As a Christian, we can't just go along with the culture because it's easier. Good on this man for standing up to the pressure the LGBT community put on him. He is a God pleaser, not a man pleaser.
He's actually also a man-pleaser as he wasn't alone in his views, and knew that. The political iron was actually pretty hot, though not yet glowing red. We are taught by St. Paul's example to become all things to all people that we might win them to Christ. Whatever job we do, we do for Him, and every human exchange is an opportunity to witness the Gospel. That Gospel includes the unlimited love of God toward sinners while yet IN their sins. This truth should never be compromised in favor of "the law of God" which condemns homosexuality and other sinful behaviors, and by which "shall no flesh be justified." The pressure that the enemy brings us is subtle. He wants to stray from the word of God and the power of God to more natural ground where he can beat us. Only that word brings forth fruit unto God. Romans 1:16 says, "I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God..." Finally, hating sin is not the same things as loving righteousness. Please think and pray on these things.

He did not stop this couple from buying any cakes that was made in his shop. He did not show hate in anyway. He stood on the principle of his faith to not bake a cake that would symbolize an abomination per the word of God. We are never told to avoid all contact whatsoever with unbelievers. But we are told not to be partakers with them, not to partner with them. 1Thess 5:20-22 - hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil. 1Tim 5:22 - do not take part in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. Eph 5:6-7- Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. 2Cor 6:14 - “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers” {The word “partakers” means to be partners. More than companions, a partner is someone who is actively involved, even entangled in our affairs. There is the pursuit of common goals.} We must not partner with them in their sin. Especially here we need to keep in mind the nature of the particular sins and motives of the sons of disobedience. We do not join in their sin. We do not encourage it or enable it. We do not run with them in the same “flood of dissipation” nor do we make ourselves part of the group by endorsing what they do when they sin and chase their lust. Or, otherwise we are Not to encourage sin.

He knew full well that his position was in a particularly powerful place at that time. Here's what Scalia (Roman Catholic "textualist, originalist, strict constructionist" and Chief Justice AND "Federalist Society" stalwart) said about the 2nd amendment: "The right to bear arms is unconnected to service in a militia..." He cowardly quoted the defense here, thus avoiding having to use his own words to say such a patently false thing. The 2A reads: "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state..." Then, only after that wording does it mention gun rights, but to "the people" not an individual. He not only claimed disconnection to the militia but that "people" means "individual." This is the height of hypocrisy for a "strict constructionist." Shameless. And so he died suddenly not too long after that. I wrote another one which although toned down still holds the same feeling that this man was in the wrong. He refused to bake them a cake that is why he was taken to court. Have a thought how those men would have felt as do lots of people in the lgbtq community do about being REFUSED service. That would be a more christian reaction. Why would anyone want someone involved in a "celebration" in your life that isn't in support of what you want to do?? Let it go people. It’s true that good and kind hearted people who feel and believe in what the angels sang about on the evening that Jesus Christ was born, “Peace on earth, and good will toward men” do not understand what could possibly motivate anyone to take it so far as the men who sued Jack Phillips!! Yes, those who really do have feelings of good will for all cannot begin to understand the evil motives of the two men who sued Jack!! And the reason we do not understand is because our motives are not inspired by satan, who truly hates us!! It’s always been phenomenal to me that satan never gives up on tormenting all the children of God!! I mean, doesn’t it get tiring to always be continually persecuting someone??!! …But, no, these men follow satan, even though they don’t realize it, and they are his, and that is where they get their motivation for bad will toward people who don’t agree with their sinful ways!! Deep down, somewhere in their evil hearts, that good-hearted people don’t understand, these evil people who like going against our Father in Heaven actually WANT an innocent person to pay for their sin!!!! Hence, suing the innocent Jack Phillips!! These twisted people have twisted around the Gospel of Jesus Christ and do not appreciate, or acknowledge the way He paid for our sins by suffering for us in the Garden of Gethsemane and by dying for us on the cross!! This issue shows how the world is following the ABC rule, anything but Christ. Basically anything goes, and can go - but nothing is in Christs favour. It's a spiritual battle for sure.
Jack is a model of faithfulness and an inspiration to all who follow Christ. A sweet man without a mean bone in his body. He should be afforded the right to live according to his conscience. I think we all want the freedom to do that.
You are a courageous man, Jack. Just know you are not alone in your convictions, though you may often feel alone in standing up for them. It's a daily battle for all of us to love non-believers through our convictions when they only receive it as hate.
Wonderful interview and update! So often we see only the headlines. Reporters drop the story and never follow through with an update to complete the story. With God's grace, this family has become stronger in their faith. A true blessing! Thank you for letting the family know their story was not forgotten and we care about them.

Jack Phillips has been an inspiration to me since I first heard of this case, just after the first one exploded. Praise God for all the victories God has granted him so far, and prayers for the victory to continue. ADF is an incredibly important part of keeping our nation’s constitutional rights strong...they truly do “defend freedom” daily!! Thank you for this great interview!!

Amazing. No one has ever been forced to get a cake for whatever reason. If someone doesn’t make the cake you want go to another cake shop. We are all a “protected” class!
@@jaimemiller3909 The matter is far from settled. The Supreme Court ruled on things the commission said, not the legality of refusing a customer because of sexual orientation. It is still against the law to discriminate because of sexual orientation. So a case of this nature will eventually work itself up to the Supreme Court in the future and there will have to be a ruling on the discrimination part. That has not happened yet.

Seems I remember reading that Mr. Phillips creates paintings on his cakes which is different than just baking and frosting a cake. I think if people knew that it would be more understandable why his conscience would be violated by creating a cake. His masterpiece is his painting on his cakes.
Sounds like what happened to him was an organized social/business hit. I have discussed this with one of my students when I was a non-believer. Seeing this now that I am in Christ, I applaud this man for standing in the word and obeying God. Halloween is my favorite holiday. But I would not be offended if a bakery did not want to bake me a Halloween cake. I would just go to another bakery. It's not a big deal.
