Seriously the biggest talent to come out of Australia lately. So glad he's being recognised and winning awards. Top 10 for Hottest 100 this year, let's do it!!
From America(California) with much love!! Nas mourned the death of hip hop in America... but I believe I've seen its' resurrection in Australia!!! This wonderful music channels the quintessence of the golden era of hip-hop 1987-1995,... and it also brings something fresh and new to the genre.
estevanico13 Amen my Brother Hip Hop has influenced so many young Indigenous people we have evolved and have become stronger through it and also our traditional songs keeps our spirit strong x ⚫🔥❤ Love from Lockhart River, Cape York QLD Aus
estevanico13 we have to give props that the influence America has inspired our a hip hop culture here its given us a sense of empowerment because racism lack of equality happens here too.
This is the freshest rap I’ve ever heard. Gives me a such a good feeling listening to it. Keep up your amazing work baker boy, you are the future of rap
It's interesting, isn't it? Yidaki is the name of the instrument in Arnhem Land where Baker Boy is from, but it does have other names in other Aboriginal language, none of which are 'didgeridoo'! That seems to be a made-up word by British people based on the sound that it makes. You could say that it's in the same category as 'thingamajig' or 'whatsit'. But one thing's for certain, you are spot on that Baker Boy is a ledge and this is an absolute BANGER. :)
He is too big for a label, you cant replicate this sound, its fucking godly,he would give Kendrick a run for his money, the size of his sound is now really even though its unknown
Best rap I have heard in a long time and love it all keep up the good work and energy. Take this to the USA mate they need to hear some real original first nation music!
It’s about time we got a good hip hop artist. He is so good ! We don’t eat represented well, this give me such a big sense of pride. I’ll be rooting for you, brother all the way!
So cool I get to watch this kid blow up. Such a positive leader for his people. As a causcasian australian I notice the fact that I dont know many indigenous people or even know very deeply about thier culture but without much ability to change the system. Its so nice to hear aboriginal language on the radio and on youtube. I hope one day there is greater fusion of our cultures so we can all benefit from another perspective.
greetings from Sydney and Nigeria , Im 50 and grew up on American old school hip hop and this stuff today is not as good as late 80's and 90's culture , but this kid is fresh and captivating , I hope he keeps his cool , family and cultural traditions and grow to become successfull and a role model for his people !!
