Bakery in New York’s Chinatown celebrates 70,000 free meals during year of pandemic support

A bakery in New York City’s Chinatown has been giving out free meals daily since April 2020. That’s when Patrick Mock, who manages the 46 Mott Bakery, started organising food deliveries to help the needy in a community devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Mock and his group of volunteers have distributed more than 70,000 meals in the year since. As they marked the first anniversary of the programme on April 23 by handing out 500 free meals, Mock reflected on how the pandemic has changed him personally as well as how it has reshaped his neighbourhood.

I agree with you. His dad should be proud, but remember how his dad make his rent from? That's hard work.. However... this video show he's giving free hand out like candies. Anyway, I wonder why the top 1% keep getting richer? You never see them doing this kind of human things lol. I wonder why.

@@BeastlyBen007 Like he once told me, you can't just assume a person's situation. There's always going to be a few that are going just to get a free meal, but that doesn't mean because of that you ignore those that are in need. He also goes to the homeless and passes out meals for them. If you want to see it for yourself, you can volunteer and help pass out meals too.
