You guys should let everyone know where your heading a week in advance. I for one would come for coffee and a slice of cake. should stock some ' holly the cafe boat" bags too, just a thought 😁
Glad day two was better. You three are delightful, it doesn’t surprise me in the least that people there would show up to help you out. Here’s hoping for a wonderful season for you. 🍰 ☕️😊
It sounds like a squirrel, they make strange noises. The blueberry cake/muffin looks delicious. And William is becoming even more adorable as he gets older 😊
Wish I could taste your cake and drink your coffee, but I'm 4,500km away. Thank you for sharing your life. I have enjoyed the last 6 months, but there is a spring in your steps and a sparkle in your eyes when you are working on Holly.
wonderful vlog - tears in my eyes; you are a wonderful, genuine, hard working, fun couple ( oops trio!!) and a joy to watch; and you deserve all the support you get; hope this is the start to a very successful new season and the cakes look delicious.
Great video. Someone may have already suggested this - if you get some mini loaf tin liners this will save you having to grease the tins, make the washing up easier, and will make the cakes look cute with little cases around them.
I am in Melbourne Australia and immediately thought now how long will it take to fly there, hire a car and drive to Holly The Cafe Boat just so I could have a taste of those cakes and a couple of coffee's, amazing. I don't eat chocolate brownies but I tell you that chocolate being chopped to go in even has me to wanting eat some yum
Yes also think the noise is a squirrel....good luck with your trading days ..cakes look delicious..William worked so hard to keep everyone happy..he must be tired..
That sound positive. I've baked for 50+ years and you are doing great. I'm in Bakersfield California USA so I will miss out on a great coffee and muffin. Prayers for your success. Cheers and God bless you all. 💪🏽🙏💖🐝
@@johnallen148 Should be wiped out/culled in Europe so our native red can re-establish itself. No need to waste the meat, sell it through game butchers, it tastes much the same as rabbit bu not as tender. I ran my best dog on the last cull in my local wooddlands and he caught three all by himself, as well as retrieving alongside the other dogs. Over 400 greys killed in 3 days using 4 "guns".
Great video and well done on your first weekend sales. You guys need a Jolly Jumper for William. It will free up both of you for short periods while he jumps away till his heart is content and he is worn out.
Hello my adopted grandchildren always watch you three and comment, please drop one back now and again. I know you now cannot answer all people it helps me or us if we cannot get out. The refurbishment real shows up good. I watch you and care about you. If you do Christmas cards this year i will buy and i think others will too. Bless the three of you xxx
cheers from Canada...I am a Yorkshire boy who immigrated many years ago, but I live in envy of you. I have wanted to operate a food boat for years but it is not in the cards. You make me smile and homesick at the same time. Bets wishes to the three of you.
Lovely looking cakes shame I can't try them from New Zealand. Something that I use which might speed up putting the batter in individual tins is one of those old fashioned ice cream scoops. Best of luck for your upcoming season 🍰🍰
Hey Vic, I'm pretty sure that noise is a squirrel. They make some bizarre noises and that sounds like one of them! So wish we had smell included in the videos, must of been heavenly!
That is the sound of a grey Squirrel. The first time I noticed it I was shocked. now you won't able to stop hearing it and you'll want our native red squirrels to make a come back, if only for some peace and quiet lol. I was in America the first time I heard it and I never knew that squirrels even make a noise lol. I had the same reaction as you did the first time. lol
Congrats on opening up for the summer season, lets all hope the UK gets a super summer, summers in Vietnam are hot, wet and very humid. As a family you will do well, Will can grow into as family run business's have done all around the world, he will be an attraction just being his self and grow into doing little jobs to help, mum included me in baking mainly cleaning out the final bits of the mixing bowl, a very important job that I've perfected. I've directed a Vietnamese couple to your channel as they have opened a coffee shop that I now pop into for an expresso every day or so. They didn't know about balancing the grind, amount and water to get a perfect cup. On my next UK visit I'll send you some Vietnamese coffee, there's one that has passed through a weasel and makes a great talking point. Take care and those cakes looked wonderfull.
Lol! I was really confused in the last episode when you bought the mini tins because all I could see were the see through holes! I've never seen those before and didn't realise they have little bottom plates. They turned out so well though.
Jo this could be classed as torture of the worst kind, as I watched you tasting those little Blueberry cakes I was salivating and I swear I could taste and smell their deliciousness .Vic is really bonding with William and you dear Jo are as delicious as your cakes look. Have a marvelous sales day. Cheers from Canada where a lot of Blueberries grow wild We find although they are smaller they have more taste than the High bush cultivated varieties.
You three are absolutely wonderful to watch. William is proving the ideal baby for a narrowboat family. Where can I find out which areas you are in, it would make my day to have coffee, delicious looking cake and meet you all? Have been an avid viewer right from the start. In the next few weeks we will be around Warwick/Stratford area and a day out on a Holly search would make my day. We’re also visiting Crick Boat Show. Take care, keep safe and continue to enjoy your wonderful little family. You all look radiantly happy. Best wishes Helen & Barney 😀🐕🦺
Thanks for including all of us on your incredible journey - joy as always to watch. Looking forward to seeing your itinerary as I need to sample the cakes and coffee!
I'm glad the new pans worked out. You'll save so much time and energy! I think it also feels more special to get an entire little cake rather than a slice off a larger cake.
What a pleasure to see , you both really deserve every success . Your dear little boy is blessed with a wonderful mum and dad . So beautiful to see how you share all responsibility.and devotion to parenting.
Vic, said "He couldn't wait to try it out", but i reckon the public at large cannot wait to come and try out your excellent wares. Then Vic said you'd need a third boat to carry the hommus and i laughed out loud.🥞🎂☕🍮
Great to see you trading, and with the wonderful fresh Spring greens in the trees and bushes. Cake looks Brill. We'll have to come over one of the weekends soon 👍. Jamie
I always feel warm and fuzzy after watching your vlogs. William is so blessed to have you as his parents and role models. Hope to sample your wares some day when I return to my homeland again. Lots of love from South Africa.
May want to make things run a little smoother by using a greased ice cream scoop instead of the wooden spoon for filling the small cake tray??? Not as much fighting to get the sticky cake mix into the slot... The advantage is the ice cream scoop just push the button and the cake mix drops out on it's own... I've seen them use the ice cream scoop for making cookies because it's faster and gives equal amounts in each scoop helping you to maybe do a scoop on cookies and two scoops on mini cakes... They call it portion control here... Not sure what it'd be called there... But supposed to keep everything measured for size portion... Anyways cheers to a great season...
The high pitched squeal you are hearing is a squirrel, Vic, they do that sound every day around my house as we have dozens of squirrels in our garden, I kid you not. If you were in America I would say it is either a squirrel or a Catbird which make that exact same sound, but we don’t have Catbirds in the UK.
Aww sweet ! :) Your channel dropped in my feed this morning , have so many questions ...but I should watch all your vids first because you probably answer most of them ;) . It's lovely to see British working boats in 2022 , hope your business does well this season .
Hi both glad you are starting your baking,Jo.your cakes looked amazing I can almost smell and taste them, glad you are not giving up running the Cafe Holly I am sure you can do the Cafe boat as well as seeing to William between yourself and Vic you can do it,Ps I think the noise is a Squirrel.Have a good day. Regards from Hereford
I want cake! Everything looks so delicious; I wish I could smell it through my computer screen. You will have a great season while leaving smiling faces everywhere you go. Huge hugs for sweet William. xoxo's Sandie
Hi Jo and Vic, William reminds me of my first .Blue eyes light hair and smiles. You are blessed🥰. The cakes looked delicious. You could make a tow path recipe pamphlet or calendar of all your cakes for all us poor souls that live far away😁. Wishing you a great week.
Hi you three watched your Vlog last night tucked up in bed I could smell that coffee and the Blueberry cakes look delicious you both bounce off each other always smiling you are getting back into the swing of things I see with Bill or Will 😀🍼🍰☕️ William really growing fast won’t belong before he’s testing cake 🍰 anyway looking forward to knowing your route hope to see you soon Holly looks brilliant lots of hugs xx
I love you two so much you are always so positive and upbeat William is a lucky little boy to have such a lovely Mummy and Daddy. You really do deserve every success
Imagine wee young Billy growing up with all the aromas of cakes baking, coffee making while messing around in boats leaving an indelible impression. I'm green with envy. Well done and an excellent vlog. Cheers
Just found your channel! WIW! A long boat plus bakery plus Lively couple with a baby! Will be checking earlier videos. Just love it….doing something so creative in a unique situation and feeling joy of all! Love it all!
Congratulations on the first days of your trading season ❤️🥳. I love you channel! Sweet William is such a handsome fellow❤️. Blessings for a fabulous Spring🌸🌸
I was gonna get upset with you not wearing the official 'Holly the Cafe Boat' apron during the prep and cooking as if that red apron was jinxing you, but then you broke out the correct apron, congrats Jo and Vic on your opening weekend! I heard all about the Sunday affair from my parents. Glad they got to meet you. Wish I could have been there but watching from afar in California. Scary how this was almost a no-go with the coffee dilemma, and with all those cakes on standby too!
Congrats y'all. I think as the word spreads you are going to have loads of people coming to you for breakfast.. I wish you well for the season and Happy Mother's Day.
A strip of parchment paper may help the leaky tins, those cakes looked amazing and I bet they didn’t last long 😋 will have to tell my sister to go see if she can find you for a tea and plenty of cakes on her dog walks near Trent lock. Would a hanging baby bouncer fit the lovely new frames that DJ and his dad built? They would keep lil man Bill entertained whilst you’re both serving. Wishing you all the very best and hope that now summer is coming Holly will keep bringing success your way 🤗
Tell Jo, even the bread has a fine crumb. Like, all of this is a ton of work, you know ? Hummus, tabouleh and falafel are so good in the heat. William is a little smiley mushroom in his hat
Well done guys, you work well as a team and will enjoy a good trading summer. Why? Because you are very professional and make exceedingly good cakes and coffee. Word travels fast on the canal and bods will be making their way to your boat once your itinery is revealed. Love to William, he's one lovely lucky chappie x
Glad to see you are back open. You genuinely looked so excited to be opening again. Good look for the season. Mouth is watering seeing those cakes. Looking forward to your travel plans, to see where you are going to be in August, hopefully on the south Oxford. Big Rich
I would love to taste your coffee and cakes. Since I'm in the USA it's a little far for me to go but I wish you the best and I'm glad your viewers are showing up to help. Congratulation on your hard work.
Hope to see you in May on our trip over to England from America. My family is from Derbyshire. I looked at the business licensing for boats and they specifically say it is difficult to have cafes be profitable. I told my wife that your social media presence was the thing that made your business work; which you acknowledged this video. Hope to see your location published for May 13-14 as that is the weekend we might be able to stop by and buy a coffee and cake. Good luck with this season.
So much to say....My Bride and I debate who William looks more like....I'm Smiling that the viewer's and other boaters support "Holly"... Great to see that! This is going to be a great season for you guys . Best wishes......................Robbie
Hey the weird sounds in the trees is a squirrel. I remember when i moved to a house with mature garden and these weird sounds kept occuring. Took me around a year to realise it was the squirrels 🤣 Not sure if it's the call of mating, fighting or having a natter. Wow those cakes look delicious!!
Nice busy vlog! You've made it, you r now trading again, well done! It will be great to have your itinerary so that we who live further afield can make plans to come and visit you and taste that cake and coffee!!🙌👍🙏.
Today was my first attempt at crumpets, which I have never seen in person or eaten, they were not a total failure but I have a long way to go, you will be doing well far sooner than I will with the changes in tools and that new helper in training named William
Hi everyone, I love william in his hat.He is such a good boy. I'm proud of you both. I really enjoyed watching you bake. It all looks yummy. Take care and God bless.
I don't know if those blueberry (and lemon?) cakes are called financière (after the ingot shape of the mould) cakes, but they look good. Hope they all sold out. Baby, baking, business, hubby - it's all happening. I would freaking out at the juggling skills. Good one Joanna
I was a Canadian army cook retired now in my last 7 years I was teaching Baking to the youth cook coming in to the trade I would show them to make Baking grease witch in used all cake pans and loaf pans to. To make it you used 1 lbs shorting or butter and 1 lbs of flour mixed well it work well. Was a cook/ baker 32 years in Canadian army. I hope this might help. Philip
