Your vinegar 5% acetic acid reacts with the sodium hydrogen carbonate(baking soda) C2H4O2+NaHCO3->CO2+H2O+C2H3NaO2 which is aqueous because the sodium acetate is some what soluble in water, but any ways love you video good to teach kids chemistry

The initial reaction of the release of carbon dioxide gas from combining vinegar and baking soda, that is when its bubbling, does help to lift dirt and stains. After the bubbles subside , that initial reaction is no longer happening and the acid in the vinegar and alkaline properties of the baking soda cancel each other out. As Pam said, putting baking soda and vinegar in a spray bottle for cleaning doesn't work. But the initial release of carbon dioxide in the initial bubble reaction is effective and helpful for lifting stains on clothes, unclogging drains and I even use it for cleaning my oven floor by sprinkling baking soda down and then spraying vinegar over it. It does work when you apply them separately. I also use this technique in washing my veggies before food prep. No, it's not a disinfectant, tho. Again, it's the initial reaction when the two are combined that has application for cleaning, which does have application in some instances. Not combined in a spray bottle.
