@@Despotic_Waffle wtf, what do you mean he ALWAYS respected him? What gave you that indication? where was that said or shown before season 3 or 4? The dude would practically spit in his face and abuse the shit outta him.for a decade. lol he haaaaaaaaated him. lets not retcon cookiecutter their history. he did not like or respect him.quite the opposite. But it's clear he now does ❤️
What’s crazy to me is, I think most anime a character like this would never verbally apologize, even if it was kinda clear they changed their behavior to the other person. The fact that Bakugo did so and in front of his whole class shows how much he has grown. Something truly special in this series.
I agree, especially the "he did it in front of the whole class" which is something Katsuki would have never done in the earlier parts of the story. Showing his feelings like this, being vulnerable and admitting his own weakness shows how amazingly he grew and how beautifully Horikoshi wrote him 🥺❤
I didn’t really like bakugo as a character that much before this season. I always thought he provided decent comedy and was really fun to watch fight, but as a character he could get annoying. I’m ready happy how he is slowly becoming more respectable while still having his crazy attitude. Hopefully his arc will make him come full circle similar to Endeavor
You know Bakugou and Izuku both use different words for bullying throughout the series. These classmates probably had no idea it was really that terrible until that point. Izuku has always used a more downplayed word that is far more lighthearted and more like mean teasing than anything. Bakugou doesn't really talk much about it, but when he does say the word bullying, he uses the strongest word for it. He is not even trying to sugarcoat it. He always admits when he does something to the fullest. That dynamic also cements something pretty fascinating about how Izuku's overpolite Japaneseness says only the things in the best possible way and Bakugou just can't be bothered to lie. Bakugou's sorry in that regard comes out as more legitimate than the simple gomen ne some character says in other shonen/shojo manga.
Best scene out of the entire manga hands down. Watching Bakugo grow as a person and accept his feelings, flaws and weaknesses was the best part of the series.
@@JDog2656 yeah multiple years of physical and phycological abuse and an apology is enough truly the highest point of writing in media endeavor actually trying to change himself nah an apology is more than enough
@@liafaithfetalvero3866yes, Bakugo hates rain because his quirk were significantly less effective in a rain (rain water will wipes off his nitroglycerin sweat)
The fact that deku was soooo tired and exhausted but didnt fall asleep or lose consciousness ever, but when he was in bbackugo’s arms he immediately felt safe and blacked out, this shows how much they trust eachother
I really gotta give Bakugou his flowers, bro has come SO far since season 1. Back then I didn’t really like him and didn’t understand why he was so popular, but watching him grow and mature over the last 6 seasons has really been a journey, great job Bakugou you’re a true goat🫡
From a storytelling perspective, he's arguably the most unique aspect to the series to make it stand out from other Shounen. Paradoxically, in a series with countless unique abilities that rival (and are inspired by) superhero comics, it's ultimately the characters themselves, not their powers that make them noteworthy.
@@LinkEXFinally someone saw this. MHA probably already handicapped itself by being a shonen superhero series. It would be filled with the worst shonen tropes: training, plot armour, tournaments, designated villains. But it doesn’t fall victim to those and even comes out on top with these characters. People forget they’re still kids and seeing them grow on screen is something you don’t always see in a shonen.
I've liked him since the start of season 6; he was already starting to show maturity and character development during the fight against Shigaraki I can't wait to see how he develops in the future :)
The thing about Bakugo is you KNOW how genuine he is at this moment. It takes a lot for him to apologize and recognize when hes done something wrong. Its true character growth. He was actually worried about Deku.
I always thought that Bakugo's pride would lead to either his death or getting someone killed, and that would be his character arc, they made him someone with so much pontecial and focus on victory above all else, I never thought he'd turn into a villian that'd be like admiting defeat, but that pride I was afraid what would happen if it was broken or if he's lose control, but after seeing how big the world he lives in is (in middle school he was top dog but that's middle school), he finally realized that being a hero is not about winning, ultimately is about putting others in first place, and that's what he did when he saved Izuku, and was at last he left his pride aside.
I think it was when he saw Midoriya going toe to toe with Shigaraki/All for One without stopping and willing to sacrifice himself to save everyone is when Bakugo started to come around.
"He finally realized being a hero is not about winning" I disagree. He still thinks being a hero is about winning. He just realized that heroes have to do more than beat the villain to win. He always wants an irrefutable and complete victory, and for a hero that involves saving everyone; "Save to win."
Ya know the best part of this apology from Bakugou? It feels earned. The character development for a character like him has been simply unlike any characters we have seen. And to see him grow so much to become a hero like everyone at this school from the hot head he was is just so rewording. Awesome Stuff!
I bet most of it is because Deku is so relentless lol. Still gonna praise, help, reprimand, explained secret, and even came to a beatdown invitation willingly. 🥲 you gotta wonder if boy is ok mentally. 😂
Did you catch his unhesitating footstep splashing in the rain to catch Midoriya, the same way Midoriya was unhesitating in his running to save Bakugo (and others)?
The Naruto and Sasuke homage with the “my body moved on its own” and Bakugo saying how he always felt Deku was ahead of him in the same way Sasuke admitted the same about Naruto was just too good. This scene had me feeling all sorts of sentimental. Season 6 of this show was a compete dial up to 11 and is easily becoming one of my favorite shows of all time. I’ve been left in awe too many times but this episode is something I’ll remember forever. 😊
@@myasmith1820 Sasuke and Katsuki have two whole completely different stories, the vibe with the bond between the two duos is similar in this specific part of the story but the rest is very different. And Sasuke had all of his reasons for doing what he did
@@myasmith1820 bro is a bakugo stan forgetting he told Midoriya to k1ll himself and didn't apologize for THAT. Versus wanting vengeance against the village whose policies resulted in the murder of your entire family, minus your brother who they pinned it all on.
Tbh I think he should cause he did kinda nearly die from sacrificing himself for deku even though what he did was not okay at all I feel like he deserves to be forgiven but still be held accountable for his actions@@Z-ir
I love how Bakugo became the reverse Sasuke. We all expected him to become a villain but he ended up acknowledging Izuku as his friend and apologized for all the crap he put him through. Top-tier character.
@@amtrak1214 He literally sacrificed himself for Izuku. What kind of person does that for someone they hate? The build-up for this moment was clear. Bakugou is as sincere as a person can be, which will only become more obvious in Season 7. If you hate him that much, drop the series, because he's not going anywhere.
@@amtrak1214 "he's lying" Have you ever seen MHA or just LISTEN to the voice actors? Nobuhiko Okamoto did the perfect job making this apologize sincere and honest You're just denial facts ...
This was probably the only thing that would of made Deku finally stop pushing everybody away. Bakugo was an asset but he always seemed to have dekus back. He knew about Dekus quirk and kept it a secret. If he hated him I don't think he would of done that.
as a fan of bnha since its first season, seeing bakugous character development throughout the series, accepting his feeling, weaknesses, etc, is so heart warming. Tbh this scene was so sad i cried...
Yes! Omg! As someone who was bullied, it is refreshing to see someone be accountable for their actions. Bakugo's apology is not for him to escape. It meant a lot to Midoriya who's self worth was somehow partly tied on being recognized by Bakugo, someone he admires but also the recieving end to his bullying. By apologozing, Bakugo takes accountability for his actions and for Midoriya, it gives him a sense of closure; something that I would like to hear from people who wronged me. As in a genuine apology like that, that's all you would want to hear, but sadly, not everyone have the balls to take accountability and make a sincere apology
I wish my bullies when I was young could also apologize to me like that. I am already about to hit 30 years old but I'm still struggling with the after damages they did to my personality and confidence hahaha
I couldn’t stop crying throughout this season When Bakugo finally said “Izuku” I just burst out crying, fucking saying out loud “He said his actual name”
Not gonna lie, I did not like Bakugo AT ALL, since the first episode of him bullying Deku and telling him to kill himself. And throughout the season his character got better but, nobody ever mentioned how he acted and that bothered me a bit. How can Deku eat and sit with him when he made his life hell ? He is better than me, and maybe, most of us. Even though Bakugo showed several signs of regret (by trying to help him train, to sacrifice himself to save him against All for One), hearing a heartfelt apology and sharing his feelings finally got me to let go of my disgust for Bakugo. We say that actions speak louder than words, but words still hold tremendous weight.
Personally I pretty much always liked Bakugo. Firstly, I just knew where this character was going, but other than that, I guess... I saw in him what All Might saw in him. Bakugo is academically smart, hard-working, tenacious, determined, and heroic in his own way. He just needed to get over his more problematic tendancies. To him, Deku was essentially a deaf kid wanting to be a musician, so Bakugo, who worked hard to be a "musician" found it very funny. That doesn't excuse his actions, but, when both of them got into UA... When the deaf kid turned out to be Beethoven, Bakugo's frustration and confusion are totally understandable. And it's all uphill from there
I love the part where Deku says you already surpassed me cause Bakugou said the same thing to Deku during their 2nd fight! I love mutual respect they have for each other now this is true character development!
Cant express how proud i am of Bakugo. This scene shocked me, never thought we'd see bro this vulnerable. Cant wait to see how much more he progresses in season 7 (i dont rlly read the manga of mha so yeah).
I said a long time ago I won't forgive bakugo for what he's done. I did not accept that even if he was doing better, he had done so much damage I could not and would not accept him. I had people argue with me constantly I should forgive what he's done because he's better and I never did and told them I would never do that. But now. This scene fixed that. A true apology is what I wanted, and this. This is more than acceptable. How he changed from speaking loud to softly for Izuku. I like bakugo now.
(To the reply not the og commenter) what does saving lives have to do with him bullying the green hair dude? Bro bullied someone for years but saved a few lives that doesn't make him the best person to exist that just means he's not some evil child who sits in the dark corners and trips disabled ppl he's still a bully with that logic if someone saves a cat from a tree then helps a old lady cross a road but goes to school and physically bullies some kid and tells them to off themselves there the good guy💀💀💀 don't do drugs kids👶👍
@@cloroxwipes9879 It means your logic is stupid and simple. People are complicated individuals. You can't drum up someone as a bad guy with your logic anymore than you can drum up as Izuku as a good guy. And also...until the whole deku vs kacchan fight (and Eijiro calls him housebroken after that), he never saved anyone but Izuku. After that, he learned to actually save people that wasn't Izuku. Bakugou is a tsundere. He doesn't want to admit that Izuku matters to him...a lot. Until now that is. And a lot of their fluffier, less antagonizing moments are in the light novels and team up missions side stories. And if you don't think they matter. Know this: When Izuku and Bakugou are both praying/wishing for whatever at a shrine together, Izuku thinks to himself he can't imagine a world without Katsuki n the light novel. Same words used in the more current chapters when Ochako is dying and Toga saves her by saying "I can't imagine a world without you, Ochako."
@@LilyUnicorn Never said he was the bad guy just said he wasn't the best person in the world its great he tried to save izuku and all but I was saying the first persons logic made 0 sense to me, and I'm talking about the anime not the light novel or manga and while yeah Izuku has said stuff kinda similar (I think I haven't watched for a while) it doesn't change the fact that Bakugo isn't the greatest person and that he's off the hook for the years of bullying he did which is what I was expressing in my og comment🤷
@@LilyUnicornbrother told a kid who was clearly suffering from multiple disorders to jump off a roof and relentlessly bullied him, attempted to kill him early on, acted like a piss baby the entire series, and continued to be unhinged for a good portion after that. He is, by all means, a bad guy. A bad guy who recognized he was a bad guy and changed, but a bad guy nonetheless
I've been bullied, and this scene brings me nothing. If someone has been making my life a living hell for ten years and has been making fun of me for being disabled, all I would say to them after an apology is "F!@$ YOU!"
Bakugo calling him by his first name, and not the name he gave him to make fun of him goes to show how much he has gone through a change of heart as the series progressed.
You dont have to accept someone's apology for their wrongdoing but it also means you can no longer hold them back from growing into becoming a better person.
Bakugo has the best character development out of anyone in this series and I would love to see a spin off sequel that follows bakugo and midoriya as the top heroes
Its like rewatching the final results of vegetas character development Always knew it was bound to happen at some point but as always it never ceases to amaze us
Emotional damage! To me! I was almost in tears cus I don’t read the manga so I was NOT expecting that. I’m glad the writer really makes his characters feel like real people. This scene exemplifies the fact that Bakugo is not a dumb meat head, he just was bottling up how he felt because of his personality, oh how he’s grown, I always thought he was cool cus he was an asshole but he’s super dependable if you’re willing to put up with his attitude, but now the man is so amazing you don’t even gotta feel guilty for saying he’s your favorite.
Something I don’t think a lot of people realize, is that whenever Deku and bakugo are shown as two sides of a coin, Deku wants to win IN ORDER TO SAVE PEOPLE, while bakugo wants to save people IN ORDER TO WIN. And here, he acknowledges, with deku’s desire at the forefront, that they need to SAVE EVERYONE *AND* WIN.
I have been a fan of MHA for a long time and love bakugou so much, this scene made me cry so hard. I love his character development from all the way to season 1 to 6, he was generally sweet to Deku and apologizing to him for everything he's done. I can't wait for season 7 and to see the character development between these two ❤ edit: The new season is being released May 4th of 2024!!
As someone who was bullied myself this hits home hard. I remeber having a doctors appointment and arriving at school late, I had lied that my eye was feeling weird because I didn't want to go to school and be picked on. When I got there I was approached by several students who had picked on me and they each apologized to me and asked for forgiveness. Apparently one of my freinds approached the principle and told them what was happening, he organized a presentation in the gymnasium where a speaker talked about bullying and how it affects people on both sides. I remember walking home that day and feeling like the weight of the world had been lifted from my shoulders. If you have experienced bullying or been a part of bullying others remember, you can always grow from it and become a better person. Be the kind and amazing people that we all can be ❤
And this is why I always kept my eye for Katsuki because i know that his kind of characters have the best character development, and it gives me satisfaction
the way deku is standing there watching kachan, while kachan is expressing how he felt this whole time brought me to tears, kachan has developed so much character and i used to hate him in season 1 and 2 thinking hes just some antagonist that turns into a villain and devotes his life to surpassing deku. but i see its more than that and I love it. what a peak series💯%
What made this apology convince Deku to stop running away was actually the fact that Bakugo said "Ambition isn't enough to save everyone". Deku thought that wanting to save everyone was going to be enough. But the fact that BAKUGO, the epitomy of ambition and pride, acknowledged that and made an example out of his apology really hit him. If even someone like Bakugo can give up his ambition so that he can work with others in saving people, then he should have no excuse to rely on ambition alone!
The way bakugo said izuku already proves how much they care for one another. Other people would’ve said Midoria, even if bakugo would never admit it, they are like brothers. He kept his secret this whole time and constantly pushed midoria even tho bakugo was scared of falling behind. The moment he started talking, you can tell it wasn’t some half ass apology or just words to get him to come back to ua. He didn’t even hesitate to take to catch him or take the hit while fighting an intense battle. Idk if that all made sense but he’s grown a lot, and those moments show it
I'd say it's a little too late for all the bullying and abuse he did, even though he had apologize it's gonna take a lot of just saying 'I'm sorry' to actually get him to be forgiven so, yeah I still hate him sorry, not sorry
Me a normal mha fan: wow such amazing Character development im brought to tears i respect this man even more now MHA fandom: OMG THEY'RE SO IN LOVE 😢❤❤🎉
I’m going to be honest I know where the story is rn and have a feeling bakugo isn’t going to be down for long. If he does stay alive, it would be a nice ending in my opinion if his final scene with Midoriya is acknowledging his newfound respect for him and the two shake hands and agree to keep pushing each other to be the best possible heroes
This has already been happening for over a year since the manga is way ahead. If you hate it so much, just leave. The fandom will have fun without you.
The part that stuck out so much to me here is "How could I even say you can't keep up" it sounds like bakugo acknowledging and understanding why deku said that was a way for bakugo to stop seeing his classmates as too weak in his way of victory
he grew to understand that being a hero is not about constantly winning, but about saving others at the risk of losing their lives. he realized how much harm he had done to izuku, it's a pity it was so late, but it was good that it at least happened. the fact that he apologized to izuku in front of the entire class is proof that he can put his pride aside. I didn't think that the moment when Bakugou apologizes to Izuku in front of the class would be the greatest thing I will see in this anime... a wonderful sight 🥹💘
I’ve always enjoyed Bakugo’s character. I understood why people disliked him but I thought he was kinda funny and a super misunderstood character. IMO he’s had the most character development in the series and you slowly saw him changing through out the series. This is the epitome of his character and I love this scene so much it’s shown how far he’s come. I’m so glad people are starting to like him now.
