God i hope i am not the only Ethiopian in here who is caught off guard by the judges' extremely uncomfortable and/or unnecessary comments and unsolicited advice on gender expression. I am not just a little disappointed by the judges' comment, I am ashamed. I am fucking confused how gender expression is a standard to be judged on while competing in a singing/dancing talent show. I am saddened that such a beautiful and talented young woman has to be pressured to fit into their ignorant, shity and narrow definition of a female singer in order to continue competing. I hope Yordanose is successful in her singing career. I hope she knows that she is beautiful wether she wears a T-shirt and a short or a dress. I so hope she knows that she sounds amazing and talented singing a song originally sang by a female artist as she does singing a song originally sang by a male artist.

Do not listen to others opinion about you. Be yourself and do what ever makes you happy! I am a little disappointed by the judges comment. it is very narrow minded of them. but I got to admit you look great in a dress.
