Balagopala part 3
Here in this part of the dance you can see a unique way of worshiping Lord Ganesha on stage. Only in this dance form (Badaguthittu Yakshagana) the lord who will be worshipped in the back stage before starting the play will be brought on to the stage in the sequel of Balagopala. The crown ( Headgear/Kireeta)will be tied with an ornament, Veeragase which portrays the trunk of Lord Ganesha in this dance. In Yakshagana crown(Kireeta) will be portrayed as Lord Ganesha later which will be worn by the eldest impersonator or the person who plays the main character(eradane veshadhari) in the play. If by chance headgear which has been worn by the person falls on the stage, that person will be penalized for a lifetime from performing in the stage. This tradition has been followed by generation after generations this is how yakshagana dance form got its own uniqueness.
