RU-vid algo just send me here and I am happy about the fact to see creators still playing the game. Will always love the game and I am glad to see that people actually still play. :)
Hey, nice to hear! Blizzard has done some balance patches in 2024, so theres at least some people looking at hots every couple of months, game is obv still in maintenance mode, so you cant expect new content - but outside of that, the game is still very much playable and lots of fun =)
Korean server had those rainbow games since 2020, although it took 30+ mins to find a rainbow game. Some players were initially happy to find a storm league game. But as master+ players get split into multiple rainbow lobbies and wintrading bronze-gold accounts get into basically every single high level games, storm league just died in a couple months with somewhat competitive games only happening in public in-houses hosted by Hide. Now with even those custom lobbies gone, there's only bronze-silver queues with everyone playing on smurfs
Oh yeah, the Korean server for Stormleague really struggled ever after HGC got canceled and then the game going into maintenance mode. I remember lots of the higher MMR players went over and played on Americas Server. I also remember Hide keeping the game going for a while with Inhouse custom games, as you mentioned
I am just happy we're getting regular updates. If it is a big issue, I actually have some confidence it will be fixed in the span of weeks or maybe a few months, as opposed to a year ago when I had very low confidence in any future changes.
Finally I can get into Hasu games from Paper league HandsUp! Honestly if the game had enough players this would not be needed. I know the Master/GMs don't like this change. In my opinion it could be good if people would stick with the match regardless of someone not playing perfectly. This would be a great learning opportunity to see the game live from the pros and feel the difference when someone who knows what they're doing is calling the plays. I can notice a difference between a match from the nations clash and a Hasi SL clown fiestas just by watching. I once faced a GM player in ARAM and got blown away by the mechanics in a casual game. So people would be well off by learning and playing well with others. As we know we don't live in a perfect world, and I've seen so many people in ARAM who just ruin a match by running it down or staying in base with 0 0 0 on damage, kills, heals, after someone is afk at the start for 30s. Even AFKing after someone calls them a bad word. The "AFK just because my feelings got hurt" players don't understand that they themselves are ruining the match more than the "offending other player" as it's a shitty move to AFK when you can just mute the chat and pings from the other "bad player" and continue with other 3 who do want to play. This game is the best to me because it so heavily emphasises Team play, and the best games are when the team overcomes the challenge together. P.S. is M$ bringing us changes in preparation for HGC 2025 as has been foretold hasuHGC :D Edit 1: For the Raynor Banshee change, I believe it means that Banshee will not be deployed, after it's killed, if it happens when Raynor is affected by Stitches Hook. Edit 2: Expanded search is working after 5 minutes on QM and ARAM. I guess they aligned it on Ranked as well. Edit 3: the gm/bronze combo rant.
I agree with you, the best would be if all 10 players continue to play until their own Core or opponents Core is destroyed.. :D 2) Yeah so my latest update on this, in terms of queue times [i qoute Bluray here, from my Discord Server]: "After the exact 300 seconds que, it will always start to do extended search On ~700 seconds you are getting the game pretty guaranteed" And yeah, of course all the Bug-Fixes, Balance Patches and Matchmaking changes are pointing to HGC 2025 =)
Hey. Regarding the matchmaking stuff, I don't think it's entirely a new thing. I have a screenshot from April where 3plat2gold were matched against 4 bronze1lowplat when I climbed to master on my smurfaccount. The enemy were not smurves, they were deleted in 8 minutes or so.
Im in bronze and defintly getting more wins then before, i think there were a lot of bots that played instead of real ppl and it caused a lot of losing. Bronze silver and gold should be matched togther, gold plat and master togther, and masters and GM's togther
NAE here, had a match earlier where we had players ranging from B4 to D1. Current game? Enemy has 3x B1 smurfs, a D5, and a D3. Our team is more balanced in the Plats and golds. Those queue fiestas have been very rare. Mostly, it has been fast queue times with balanced teams.
I played yestarday being in silver 2 with my gf in duo, we got matched 3 games in a row with bronce 5 players in our team, gold silvers and bronces (one of the games ther was a platinum). Those games were lost, as you said, the problem with most bronces is that they rage out of the game, or troll pick on purpose. This obviusly happens in silver gold and plat, (which is the highest I was able to reach), but in bronce is like if you have 3 bronce 5, you can bet 100% sure that at least one of them will be or trolling or afking... I was hyped when I listened the video the other day, because its true it will shorten the queue time, but after playing it didn't felt right, I end up very frustrated. If this was League of legends maybe the higher elo player would define the game, but since this is so team dependant, if you are 1 less, you will most likely lose.
Yeah, i heard about that issue a few times now, that in lower leagues people just seem to go afk once they are unhappy. Not sure what that is about, UNLUCKY!
Haha, Hasu is so used to playing in high rank games he can't even tell the difference between gold and bronze colors. I know all too well, FeelsBadMan.
the bronze lobbies are responsible for 30% of my winrate, where one guy is mad before the game even started and decides to throw the game. Or the match I had earlier where a plat player was mad he had lost his way to silver 5 and decided that because a teammate wanted to play butcher on braxis holdout, he banned butcher, the butcher picked nova, and he picked murky and completely ignored camps and the top lane. He of course blammed his lose sreak on bad lobbies even though we almost won that match and would have if he had played better than a beginner bot. the less I can have of these guys the better. Now I'm just hoping they'll fix quick plays dreadful matchmaking. 1 healer and 4 tanks is not fair to have vs a normal team with a tychus (I've somehow had this match in solo queue)
Yeah, it seems alot more common that people just go afk in lower rank games. The higher the rank / people climb the better the chances that people just play to win, instead of tilting off the earth. About Quickmatch matchmaking: i think it was adjusted at some point (with its current ruleset, of which heroes are in the same brackets) but overall you have keep in mind, its a very chaotic game-mode
at low ranks you are so used to getting stomped does it matter if its a master player or a gold player. i feel like at least it softens the blow if you lose to a gm player. plus the match making seems to adjust the points. i stopped playing cause i couldnt find games on my server. so if this helps i would consider playing again
Yeah, you should lose alot less points, maybe even none, if the match was too wild by Matchmaking standards. But as mentioned, you should be able to find Stormleague games alot more consistent, on any Server with these changes.
