Those exercises on the porch. Dear lord that was amazing. Somehow seeing that in a setting outside of the gymnastics gym made it a little more knock your socks off impressive.
I tried doing a scale on that round-thingy(I'm dutch; do NOT mock my english!😂) a few years, back and getting down to a cross-legged, sitting position, without the 'thing's edges touching the floor and toppling over. I barely managed it. ONCE. And here is Chellsie, doing a friggin' handstand on the thingy...on her porch.
I think it's great that the gymnastics student can watch you and your father working together. Keeping the training upbeat, settled and focused. You 2 are great models for those kids.
Thanks, lovely editor, for turning off the background music when Chellsie is talking. Much much appreciated. Chells, please keep making these videos :) I'm having fun watching you (and Andy) enjoying the sport you love.
Every time I see you do your full turn illusion connection on beam I want to see an aerial following it. That would be a beautiful combo. Really hard and would be near impossible to make consistent, but man would it be cool.
Like so many of the comments- not monotonous to me. Seeing you doing presses in the ball cap, that was the highlight for me. I am a hat wearer at all times unless formality dictates. Seeing you do gymnastics skills in that hat made me think, "now that is something that I have never done- gymnastics in a hat". KUDOS to you. Also, BEAST status for presses on a balance board! Keep 'em coming Chelsie. Your bars look so good-that giant full was gorgeous.
I love watching your updates. I was level 4 back in the day and you’ve inspired me to just start with some basics back at home like bridges and round offs haha
I have so much respect for you and for anybody who can do balance beam. I also do gymnastics and I am visually impaired. My coach told me that I don’t have to do balance beam because of my vision. But I love the challenge. But it is extremely difficult I just cannot see where to look or where I’m going. I just hold my breath and hope I make it.
Not monotonous. AT ALL. I am on my own adult fitness journey. Just seeing you keeping on (even if it's the same stuff) is SO GOOD. We are all keeping on together. You doing your thing. Me doing mine. Consistency is not quite the same as monotony. :)
The part where your dad said "and the other side!" after the second fall made me laugh so hard because as a pole athlete and aerialist, our instructors are always saying "now do it on the other side" after we learn a move. Gotta make sure things are even! Lol
As a runner, I was so excited to see that you ran, and 10 min pace is really good!!. I find it easier to run on the roads vs grass, and a crushed gravel track or path is even better. It will be interesting if you start consistently running 15-20 minutes 3-5 d/week if you will see some benefits in your gymnastics - you are in great shape already and I don't know if aerobic endurance is important for gymnasts because I am not one, but I'm sure you know what you are doing.
Thank you all! I love watchin', it is my only experience seeing a gymnastics gym, lol. Chelsea, I was wondering if you could talk a bit about mental health, and how ya all deal w mental health in your gym, and personally if you want too. Training the body is important, but do you find that mentality also plays a huge roll in physical capability. I know we saw Simone talk of some of it but I would love to hear your experience since your family has all carried on gymnastics for a long time through generations 💙💙💙
As a gymnast 20 plus years ago, i could do a hand stand straddle down, but never had the abdo strength to do a handstand straddle up - i so wish id been ale to do those and could do them now! i love watching them, i think they sum up everything about gymnastics (except the flying bit) .. strength, control, agility ...
Chellsie you're improving each week. Your lines on beam!! 👍 for bars: 3 skills to go and your bar set is 👌 I think moving the Arabian to the middle is cool you will be less tired 💁♀️
Content idea I’d love to see! Each week pick a new skill to practice, film and maybe even showcase in slowmo. That paired with an in depth discussion of what is happening, what could be improved still and deductions a judge would take. As a level 2 gymnastics quitter (25+years ago), your gymnastics is so out of my depth and knowledge, which is why I watch! It’s awe-inspiring :)
I'm with most commentators; It's not monotonous. The improvements are noticeable. Two weeks ago, I thought your landings on the high beam were a bit deep. This week you landed in a higher position on all the acro. You fell off on friday but the landings were not that deep. Which means you're gaining in confidence and strength. I would not worry about World's right now. Everything you do from now on, could set you up for World's in 2023. So plenty of time to figure out if you want to really go for another trials in a few months, a year of practice or, just having fun at the gym and working on those skills. Btw: how would you feel about a collaboration with Nile Wilson and his family/friends?
I'm always wondering why your Tkatchev is sooo lofty and easy compared to a lot of other gymnasts that looks like they kinda just kinda hurl themselves over the bar (total non gymnast here lol)...
I love gymnastics and you do to Chellsie Memmel and you back on training. I started gymnastics in my young age. I can able to do cheerleading is a sport. Some cheerleaders can past the age over 30 years old and some stated a family with the marriage. Or some adopt children to start gymnastics early age at 2 or three years old. I will start for a little girl to start gymnastics in early age in Manhattan in New York City in part of living in California.
