mine have never produced knees, I planted them in a wet area 17 years ago also. but its like a stream that becomes a small river during heavy rainstorms maybe it needs constant mud or dirt on top to make them?
that bald cypress is infested with GALL MIDGE the larva are living in those white things in the branches, but normally doesnt harm the tree unless its a heavy infestation and will probably break off the newer growth branches
I enjoyed your video. I need your help. I live in southern Illinois on the Lower Cache River (Swamp). My father was the one who pioneered an effort in 1979, to save this ancient Forest and Wetland. Our record Bald Cypress trees (up to 1,500 years old) are dying at a rapid rate. These trees have been impounded with permanent since at least 1982. Prior to destruction that happened in the early 1970's, our river and wetlands NEVER held permanent water. There was always a dry season. The State impounded a 4 mile stretch of river and its wetlands, in our 1250 acre National Natural Landmark. It was also designated by RAMSAR, a Wetland of International Importance. In there attempt to flood the record state and national trees, they are also flooding private landowners, which is illegal in itself. Can you help or know someone who can give me more expert advice? Thanks for any help.
