Bald Faced Hornets are not known for being polite. This nest was found near a side walk and they were stinging passers by. They did not welcome The Bee Man and attacked as the nest was destroyed. All who were outside the nest later returned and died

I was attacked by those bastards last year, not knowing where they came from. Once I found their nest in the pine tree next to my house, I used my car the way Marines launch an amphibious attack.. I drove my car over the curb, onto the grass, cracked open the drivers window, and unleashed hell with a wasp killer spray that shoots the stream of death. It was a great victory for me that day.

I hate these things with a passion. When I was a kid, a buddy of mine and myself accidentally disturbed a nest that we were completely unaware of, and by the time we realized what was going on, we were covered from head to toe by these evil monsters. I mean, it was like a horror movie that was really happening. They were in my shorts, in my hair, in my ears...it was horrifying. Ever since then, I've had an unreasonable fear of them and thoroughly enjoy watching them die! Honestly, they are good for nothing and life would be ok if they all disappeared forever. Your a brave man!! Thanks for posting.

THAT NEST IS ABOUT THE SAME SIZE AS THE ONE I KNOCKED DOWN LAST YEAR. There's a Bridge near my condo that goes over I-25. Its a road bridge with broad sidewalks on either side so pedestrians can cross over too . the decorative railing running the length of it is about 9 feet above the sidewalk. Last year, a nest of bald faced hornets built a nest on the underside of the 8 inch wide decorative railing. It became about the size of the one in this video. I tried calling the city of Thornton about it several times, hoping they would send someone to destroy it, but nobody did. So, around dusk one evening, I walked to the bridge with a tennis racket, went to the nest (which was not very active as the hornets were resting), then brought my racket over my shoulder and behind me, swung it forward hard so it struck the nest. The nest broke free, and flew forward about 20 feet, falling to the highway below. A moment later, a cloud of hornets were buzzing around it, but the passing cars (at 60+ MPH) didn't respond. The hive was between two lanes. Then a car came, and obliterated it!! 💢 POW!

I have a different strategy, I soak the nest in Suspend or Cy-Kick at the highest concentration wait a few minutes than drop the nest with a paint scraper attached to a 30' pole. Only time the bee suit gets put on is indoors for large nests.

We had Hornets build a nest in our upper garage door corner. We learned that they were attracted to light at night and we were stung a couple times, but we let them go. As of a couple weeks ago, I'm actually sad to see them go off and die and/or hibernate. We were able to walk right under their nest with no problem. Usually, a clumsy one would fly into you and you wouldn't even know it was a hornet. But anyway, is Winter a good time to safely remove a nest? I started removing layers, but I can still see some hornets remaining (although docile).

@TheBeeMan
@TheBeeMan 4 года назад
Since I do this as a pro I really can't do that unfortunately. It's something others do to increase the run time on videos and to avoid using pesticides on camera. I have to schedule 20-30 of these a day so I can't take the 45 minutes to do a vacuum since you just have to use pesticides at the end anyways. If I get one off of peak season I may but they're only this size during peak

Their instinct is to return to the nest. I left the coating of pesticide behind so that they get into it upon return. The ones that flew out at the start had pesticide on them. They died within minutes. I always clear the area for the appropriate amount of time

The perks of having a phobia of wasps (and insects): (I mean idek if I have a phobia but wotever) 1.Eating outside in hot or warm weather is deadly, wasps always come to you instead of your dad who isn't scared of them. I just squeeze my eyes shut as if I'm hiding from a clown or idek. 2.When you hear any buzzing sound your first instinct is to leg it to the nearest parent or your house. 3.Spring is a feared time of year since they start flying around for the next 6 months or so. 4.Flowers-i stay away and I am terrified of them. 5.Screaming. 6. as soon as you step outside:brain aware of wasps and bees mode. 7.When you fear wearing flowery things because your childhood self ran away from a bee chasing her because she heard the deadly buzz and panicked. The end of my useless list I made because I was bored.
