Baldi's Basics: 0.4 Release | First Impressions

A short video that goes over some my thoughts while doing my first run of Baldi's Basics Plus 0.4. I only knew a few things about this update before going in. But, the update is pretty good nonetheless!

You may notice the video freezes in some parts during floor one... It's not you, it was those recording issues I was having. I'm pretty sure my drive that I store recordings on is not having a good time...

The reason baldi doesn't say GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN, is because it's not baldi who's saying it, but NULL who's saying it, I'll explain. So in BBC (Baldi's Basics Classic) NULL is in the game which means that he cuts baldi off. And in BBCR (Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered) NULL is also there, so he cuts baldi off (once again lol). BUT when you defeat NULL THEN Baldi says find a way out before I catch you because NULL is gone. BUT this also means that NULL is not in BB+ (Baldi's Basics Plus). So I guess there is no lore of NULL being in Baldi's Basics Plus.

He's not new, you can find him by doing these things: so in BBCR (Baldi's Basics Classic Remastered) in classic mode, get all the answers wrong then beat classic mode. In party mode get a teleporter from the vending machine (used with quarters). Then beat party mode, blow out the candle, then use the teleporter and go to the principals office. In demo mode get all 7 notebooks, then go to all of the classrooms again (except the one you got the 7th notebook in). Then once you did all the math questions again, go to the room and look at the poster where it tells you hints on how to use safety scissors. Then turn to the left and put the portal poster there. (Oh yeah you also get a item called a portal poster when you do all the math questions again). Then if you did all of that, go to the main menu in mode select and click on Baldi's face. If you did that you will be brung to NULL mode. It's hard to beat but possible!

I watched your tutorials and guides since "all the characters explained" since The Test release (Forgot which versions) and it practically helps me go throughout the whole strategy to work all 3 floors.

There was a new feature you missed in this game. So the principal of the thing has a new feature that before he enters any room (hospital room, classrooms, principal office and the facility rooms) he knocks on the door. But he doesn't knock on yellow doors

Because yellow doors are connected with halls,cafetaria,playground,library etc. this locations are not "room"

fun fact:the safety scissors can now do multiple things at once for example, if you had the gum effect and got caught by playtime you would cut the jumprope AND remove the gum btw the gum effect is now under the HUD also now playtime stops playing once you leave playtime's line of sight rather than whenever you get pushed oh also dr reflex squishes every npc on their way while hunting you down after you walk away without doing the test

4:38 I checked and yeah Dr. Reflex runs to his office to take hammer and this is also his spawnpoint edit: you didn’t show (but that’s okay) that there’s no farm mode (it got burnt down) and also Dr. Reflex can smash other characters, and when they small they can’t interact with ya (even when you small too)

4:22 - There's something oddly terrifying and humorous with both this scene and Dr. Reflex as a whole. First of all, he pretty much acts like a reflex-based Playtime that becomes a less-lethal version of Baldi. I assumed that the "squish" effect would've made you unable to run or something like in Mario Kart with the lightning bolt. Also, Reflex is pretty much a felt version of a Wallace and Gromit character, especially with that walking animation. And the way they turn, stare, then hunt you down feels a lot like some other horror creatures. Notably, the masked players in Lethal Company, but I feel like there were others in the past. Lastly, and why I chose this timestamp in particular... The silence combined with Gotta Sweep turning the corner and rapidly approaching just got me in the right way. Sweepman is always a fun character.

Also, unrelated to the first comment but I don't like leaving several "main" comments so that's why I am replying to my first one. But I think I remember seeing on another video that Baldi's ruler sound isn't really determined on their true location in the school, but now it's determined on how long it would take for him to reach you. Say if you were in the classic schoolhouse's hangman room, the one with the secret exit in the Demo style. If Baldi was in the principals office, you would hear him coming from the classroom's door since he is still fairly close, but the noise no longer comes *from* the office's direction.

I very kich like this iodate and i feel it added a LOT of quality changes. The only ones i don't really pike are the bsoda change (it looks very ugly) and the changed library, since part of the risk of going in was getting lost and now it might as well not exist.
