As a more experienced player I scream to the screen every five seconds, but I remember my first time playing and I don't want to rob you from the experience of figuring it out all yourself. But it reminds me of my first game too. granted - I was on PC so it feels much so much easier. Like, everything is on screen on the same time, so you don't have to search for all the abilities for example. I'm rambling, but what I mean is that there's just something so amazing in seeing someone go through this game with no prior experience. 51:41 ALRIGHT, AFTER 5 TIMES PLAYING IT, I NEVER TOUCHED IT. I literally thought it'd activate all the traps. 53:09 Divination is good, but really most wizard subclasses are pretty good, depending on the playstyle.

Refreshing to see this playthrough of yours. I'll try to keep the text length to a minimum but feel I need to give some advice :) 1) Don't be afraid to Long Rest. You're wearing your party out by not long resting. Your wizard will regain all spent spell slots, your MC will get his Ki points back. A lot of story stuff happens during the long rests. You're missing out if you do only a few of them. 2) The silence spell that was cast on you disables your characters from using their voice ("vocal spell component") to perform most spells available. You need to step out of the Silence zone to be able to cast spells again. Melee combat/arrows work fine in silence zones. The silence spell is a concentration spell. This means that if you hit the enemy that cast it (shoot an arrow, hit with melee, ...), there's a chance they lose concentration and the spell effect ends. 3) The monk generally works best either without any weapons or with a staff. A longsword or whatever might make your monk underperform. 4) Your wizard is very squishy, dies easily. Perhaps try to put him behind a wall/cover, pop out when its his turn, do your ranged spell, pop back behind the wall for cover. Generally keep your wizard in the back. He should not be close to the heavy hitting melee enemies 5) very important bit in combat: If you're standing next to an enemy and want to move away from him, he will always get a free attack on you. This is called 'Attack of opportunity'. You want to avoid this by either killing the enemy you're standing next to before moving, or by using the 'disengage' action (if you disengage, you won't have an action left to attack in the same turn, but it can be necessary sometimes). Enjoy BG3! Once you take a long rest and the story gets rolling, you'll enjoy the game much more!

hey I noticed you were making a rookie mistake, try not to use scrolls of revivify on downed teammates unless absolutely necessary, you only get a limited amount of them (besides buying them at the shop for 400 gold) and they are one of the only ways to revive a fully dead teammate, if you walk up to them and help them up it puts them on one health just like the scroll does.

This game is amazing. Don’t forget to lock in which person in your party you want to romance. I romanced Shadowheart and was not ready for the nude love scene Also there are a million tips and tricks on RU-vid for this. The one I love most is so simple: if you use the disarm ability on anyone, and it works, as a free action you can pick up their weapon so they don’t have it. Works on bosses. Go get it

Loving this stream. Watching you stumble as you take your first steps is equal parts horror and frustration as you colllect attacks of opportunities as if they were achievements :D , but it makes the victories all the sweeter when you drag yourself bleeding across the finish line.

Idk if anyone's mentioned it yet, but I'd highly suggest getting the Knock spell as soon as you can. Being able to open locked doors and chests w out using a lockpick is super useful

And you survived the Damp Crypt even you entered it in the worst way possible! 😅👍 Here are a few quality of life and Pro-tips for Baldur's Gate 3: • *Looting:* Hold down the 'A' button to highlight all interactive items within a 16-foot radius. • *Opening locked Doors and Chests:* Doors and chests can either be picked or forced open. The Thief/Rogue class specializes in skills such as lock picking and disarming traps. In order to pick a lock you MUST have a lockpick in your inventory! You are currently missing a thief in your party, but I am optimistic that this will change. If you need to rely on force only try to use _blunt_ weapons like a War Hammer or the like. Most objects have a weakness against _Blunt Weapons_ Damage (You can check for weaknesses/ resistances of objects and opponents by examining them with your D-pad Down button) . Usually you need to do a certain amount of _minimum damage_ before you can even slightly dent a chest or door. • *Short Rest vs. Long Rest:* Outside of battles, you can take a short or long rest. The short rest restores 50% of lost hit points and regenerates spell slots and class actions for e.g. warlocks, druids and fighters (but not clerics and wizards!). If you have used up both short rests, you must take a long rest to regenerate them again. The long rest regenerates all lost hit points and also restores the spell slots of clerics and wizards. • *Using the environment:* You have already noticed in the fight with the bandits how you can sometimes use the environment to your advantage: Throw an oil bottle between your opponents and ignite the pool of oil with a fire arrow or throw a burning candle or cast any fire spell. Cast _Grease_ to make the surface slippery (making your enemies fall prone if they fail their saving throw) and surprise: Grease is flammable too! Your opponents are standing in a puddle and therefore have the _Wet_ condition? A lightning spell will be a _very_ unpleasant surprise (it electrifies the whole wet area causing damage each round to anybody standing in it), as will a frost spell that turns the surface into a slide. No wet surfaces in sight or everything is burning and you can't walk past without losing HP? Throw a bottle of water or have your cleric cast _Create/Destroy Water_ and teach your opponents a lesson about the physical states of water. • *Spells: Area of Effect:* Some spells not only have a certain range but also an _Area of Effect_ (AoE) usually shown by a thin line outlining the AoE when casting the spell. The Undead in the Crypt casted the AoE Spell _Silence_ on your party making it impossible for any magic wielder in your party to cast a spell whilst standing within the AoE of the _Silence_ Spell (most spells need a verbal component to be casted which is not possible while effected by _Silence_ - a very effective spell against all magic wielding opponents!). • *Spells: Concentration:* Certain spells require _Concentration_ in order to maintain their effect. The _Silence_ spell from the previous example is not only an AoE spell, the caster must also concentrate on the spell to maintain its effect. If the caster takes damage, a successful saving throw must be made or concentration on the spell is lost and the spell ends immediately.

I stumbled on your playthrough and I’m going to keep tagging along. This game is fun and there are many, many ways to solve problems. I think turn-based lets you really strategize and use your surroundings to defeat enemies. Have fun and be creative.

Be creative in the ways you solve encounters and this series will be a banger A little tip here: If you hold down the R button on controller you see almost everything in the area you can interact with or Loot- so run around and hold that R button from time to time ;)

Monk needs Wisdom + Dex Dex modifier is generally distributing the armour class (AC) for every class which does not/can not wear armour = "casters like Mage + Sorcerer and also the Monk" Classes who do wear armour don´t need much Dex unless when using range weapons or Finesse weapons as their main weapon. Modifiers work like this: 8 and 9 attribute points = -1modifier 10 and 11 attribute points = 0 modifier 12 and 13 points = +1 modifier 14 and 15 points = +2 modifier 16 and 17 points = +3 modifier 18 and 19 points = +4 modifier 20 and 21 points = +5 modifier 22 and 23 points = +6 and so on Although for the Monk subclass "way of the open hand" + in combi with the Feat "Tavern Brawler" (= the strongest of all Monk classes in behalf of damage dealing)you need then strength as well but you can increase strength with strength potions..so no need to change stats..just a side note). The default stats the game provides are fine by the way...they need only fine tuning when you know what you want to do, which a beginner does not know....yet. I highly recommend to watch some Character build videos in order to learn how to build strong characters..there are tons on YT for every single class with their subclasses and for every playing style + for multiclassing although I would focus on pure classes at first for your gameplay in order to get familiar with the classes. Multiclassing is for pro´s who know all classes inside and out. A last beginner tip...keep an eye on the game protocol during combat it will provide essential infos about the dice rolling mechanics which are happening behind the scenes ..every attack hit is based on such a dice roll ..unfortunately I can not tell you where the protocol is to find when playing with gamepad because I play on PC Mouse + Keyboard which has a totally different UI-layout but the protocol is defintively somewhere. With a mouse over the text the actual dice roll will pop up with all details = An attack dice roll = the D20 hit dice roll + modifier number + weapons´s damage dice roll result number + optional bonus (= either a buff potion or buff spell on your character) or a malus number was deducted (= a opponent´s debuff spell casted on you or his weapon provides an additional debuff)= all in all leading to a certain result number...in detailed comparision to the opponent´s dice roll with all its addings = his result number = showing you the reason why you hit or why you missed a hit...is to see in the protocol with a mouse over the related text

Having played this game 6 times, one tip for the whole game is do EVERYTHING you can find and explore all the map before moving onto act2 and act3. Trust me being under leveled while still learning dnd mechanics will ruin you lol. Best rpg and hopefully you enjoy it.

You’ll def get your moneys worth as most people, like myself, play through multiple times 😊 Just take your time, read through the descriptions of things that you don’t understand, and most importantly have fun! Don’t worry about “missing” things in the game. In each play through, you’ll find things you didn’t find the first time haha. Other people’s RU-vid videos were really helpful too

That was such a close battle! The barrel explosion was very clever. I came in through a different entrance on that one and died a few times trying to get through

Another quality of life tip to save resources, you can actually throw potions on the ground to splash their effects in an area. If you aim between you and a party member until you see little > marks inside their circle marker, they'll both get the effect of the healing potion. Same applies for potions with negative effects if you throw them at enemies. If you hit L2 and then triangle over a character's image, they'll separate from the party and allow you to move them independently. Do this to arrange your whole squad in a tight + shape formation and you can use one healing potion per throw to heal every member of your party at the same time, then press square on two separate party members to re-group them together.

Make sure to check out the place where you landed thoroughly, there are still things there for you to explore

Aye, more episodes to go. I'll edit in responses to questions you had as I watch the video. "Do I get like a skill point?" 2:54 I figure you mean your ability scores like dex, wisdom etc. and yes, sort of. DnD classes give you a bunch of features on almost every level up but one thing that everyone gets on top of their class features at level 4 is a so-called Feat. One option thats always availible is the ability score improvement, which gives you two points to add to any one or two stats you want. For example you can boost your DEX to 18 which unlocks improvements to your armor, accuracy and damage (all effects scale in steps of two). However... there are a lot of gear that improve your skills as well, as well as certain actions you can take to improve some of your stats permanently. Luckily you will soon get a friend who will allow you change your class and shuffle your numbers around for dirt cheap, so you can always change things up if you found something really good. Once you reach lvl 4 you might want to consider a different feat than improving your ability scores - tavern brawler... but thats for the future. The door 13:46: most doors you can try to break down, altho some are hardier. This one teleports you to another map so there isnt anything behind so they cant let you destroy it. It is however locked, and with anything locked you can get to lockpick it. Sometimes, like here, you have to press square and select the option tho, which is pretty annoying Battle at 27:00 : Thunderwave works like that shout in skyrim, you yeat anything standing infront of you. Works amazing near cliffs or if if you have a bunch of people really close to another since its AoE. Also, keep an eye on the bar at the bottom, atm you have 1 action and 1 bonus action and maybe some spell slots. If you select something to do and or if you cast a powerful spell it will light up and tell you what resource get consumed. For example, you can either help someone up or attack since both cost your action, or drink a potion/jump and attack. Also also, revify is for when your companions are dead. If they are moaning and moving on the ground helping them works fine, or for the acquired tastes: you can throw healing potions at them and they get back up plus a little xp, altho they will miss their action for that round. One of sharts healing spells does pretty much the same thing but for a bonus action, so you can get them to stand back up from a distance and you can still do an attack that round, really powerful for a lvl 1 spell. 53:00 Diviniation wizard is probably the most powerful subclass, but the pop-up for the ability can get annoying. Necromancy is pretty neat too but you cant really play it until you get the animate dead spell, altho anyone can use it - you are just are better at using it. Evocation is pretty solid cuz of the first feature making it so you can throw around fireballs and other big AoEs and dont have to worry about hitting your team - especially good if your frontliners get surrounded and blast like 3-4 people at once. General control tips: you can jump to targets using the left and right on the dpad. You can get a list option to interact with stuff by pressing square. You can get a list of things to interact with by keeping X pressed for a little bit, which is especially helpful when trying to open small containers

Fazo you can also change your appearance in camp in the magic mirror!

Couple tips. If you look at the right side of the bottom bar, the spell slots/ki points determine how many times Gale and Shadowheart can cast spells or your character can use skills like Flurry of Blows, are in limited supply. If I remember correctly, only a long rest will replenish them, but I may be wrong. Pay attention to the spell descriptions. Some of them are melee spells or have a short range, like Thunderwave, which pushes enemies away. Great for enemies in high places. Wizards like Gale can learn spells from scrolls. It will cost them gold unless it's a spell from their school. A neat trick for reviving teammates is to throw healing potions at them. Even if they're downed, the potion will work. 6:42 If you would have kept going, you would have found another companion. A rogue who could have lockpicked that door to the temple. Of course, you could always have a character multi-class into Rogue. Not having one is game changing, but it's your choice in the end. There is a way to split apart your party if you want to go off alone. Sadly, idk how to on console. On pc you just drag the cards at the top and separate them. Yea, Magic Missile is one of the best spells. Always get it. And make sure to combo spells as well. Like casting grease and then casting firebolt; or creating water and casting witch bolt. It's best to loot after battles. Taking things from any enemy inventory can count as an action sometimes. You got me wanting to play BG3 again. Especially since my last character was a monk.
