Tip: In cases where you turn NPC merchants into enemies, if you kill them, they will only drop a few set items. BUT if you turn on non-lethal damage and knock them out you can loot them for ALL the store items they were selling and current amount of gold on them. Then you can just kill them afterwards.
@@TacoRemixx it’s their gold too. Or at least in cases where in the game that NPC can be a normal vendor to you depending on what side you take. I literally just tried it out on the Flaming Fist Quartermaster in Act 3. All her items and gold was there.
2:28 The Flawed Helldusk Armor pieces in both of my playthrus, it seemed like Dammon used the "Infernal Alloy" which I got from the nice old Duergar in Grymforge who asked me to help him study the architecture/archeology of the area instead of the "Infernal Iron" which Dammon used to fix up Karlach. It also seem like he only took the 1 piece of Alloy I had and made all 3 pieces of armor too... may have to load an old save to doublecheck on that.
Dont forget "Us" is only obtainable in Act 2 if you manage to save him at the beginning of the game in the mind flayer ship otherwise there only just an empty cage
@@calebmartinez9875 Then maybe its enough if you interract him at the start, in my first playthrough i just save him from the body and he is in the cage for me in act 2 but on the 2nd run i did the same as you and found only an empty cage in act 2. dont know if there any other interaction or anything what makes him disapper but i think the only way to lose him if we let him die at the beginning, probably we never know but if its help the ppl to get him at act 2 then its worth the comment ^^
Regarding the pixie's blessing, its permanent so long as you remain in the shadow cursed land, if you go back to the previous area because you missed something then the buff disappears however you can use the bell again to get the blessing back. Another thing to note that you can only get the brain summon Us if you helped it and it survived at the start of the game.
that drakethroat glaive can enchant any weapon not just itself. you put the weapon you want enchanted on the ground or use it on a party member, equip the drakethroat glaive and cast the spell. Sorcerers can even twin the spell to get it on 2 party members weapons
WARNING: If you are planning on romancing Astarian, don't make him drink the drow's blood. He will break up with you because you forced him to do something he didn't want to do.
there is a trick with dammon for the pieces of armor if you kept the pieces of adamantite that you found at the forge (not the ore that allows you to make armor or weapons but the waste) there is a way to get them exchange with dammon so that he makes the armor pieces Usually I do this trick with Karlach after repairing his engine for the second time and I don't use any infernal iron
Man I was right there at the head and thought "I can come back" 🤦♂️going through with a fine tooth comb on playthrough #2 I missed the entire under dark and grymforge...😐
5:20 Kinda sad that there isn't a potion like the Everlasting Vigor for every attribute. +2 permanent buff to every attribute is very strong, yes, but they could just make it so that you can use such potion only once and once for every character in your party. For example if you main a barbarian you would want to use it on Strength maybe, while on characters like Shadowheart or Gale you would use it for Wisdom or Intelligence
I mean there is an object in Act 3 which grants you the opportunity to get +2 to any attribute. You can do this with every character except Shadowheart.
@wolvenedvard3049 Act 3 Spoilers Below At the end of Shadowheart's Quest (House of Grief), there is a Mirror of Loss near her parents. You have to pass a 25 DC Religion Check (only once), and then pass a 25 DC Arcana Check (per char). This will give you an option to sacrifice 2 of a stat (curse debuff) to gain 2 of another stat (the stat you sac has to have some points into it). You can remove the curse easily so it is a free +2 points you can get for every character sans Shadowheart. If you need help passing those DC checks, the 17 Int circlet, mage's friend ring, Enhance Ability (Fox), Guidance, and Bardic Inspiration will give you a major boost to success rate. Recommend making a pure Bard Hireling to help.
You missed the best part of the Drakethroat glaive. You can enchant another weapon with it, so you drop the weapon you want to use on the ground enchant it using the drakethroat glaive and then pick up and swap to the enchanted weapon. Free enchant on any weapon you want
wait - so if you are the dark urge and you cannot do anything about Elfira the tiefling dying, you wont get the Potent Robe?! Or will you still get it? Can anyone confirm that Dark Urge-players can still get this?
you can knock her out before the first rest using non-lethal, another bard will show up and take her place, and she'll be alive at the tiefling camp. save before doing this just incase the game fucks up though.
alot of this is just this, talk to everyone in the game, dont ignore ppl. I found most of this stuff out by just playing the game. Curiosity rewards you.
So something that gets missed on the drakethroat glaive, the buff it casts works on any weapon (1 per long rest), not just itself, so use it on the halberd instead, or a bow, or sword, or whatever, its a weapon you should hold onto for the rest of the game not just act 2
I disagree. The downside of the Cloak of Protection is that no matter the dye it always looks terrible. Also with 'clears at a long rest' buffs. All you do is dismiss Gale back to camp. He'll retain the buff indefinitely or until expiration which will result in some instructions... IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.
did not know if you missed it or not but if you take Will down with you and free Mizora you can ask for a reward and she will give you the very sweet Infernal Rapier it's 6-13 Damage and lets you cast the spell Planar Ally: Cambion. It also has the High Spellcasting passive, which gives you a +1 bonus to Spell Save DC.
@@n.henzler50 If you are playing a Bard/Warlock and using 1 handed finesse weapons, in act 1 you have the Adamantine Scimitar, Act 2 you can get the Infernal Rapier, Act 3 yeah Duelists Prerogative. They are probably your kind of Bis weapons. Warlocks are also retarded when you get the right gear, there are gloves that allow cantrips to be cast as a bonus actin, there are also a set that allow an extra Cantrip per attack as well. Once you get the Warlock/ Bard Hat that increases your Charisma by 2 max 22 you just wreck everything from all the extra attacks you get.
be warned many condition buffs, go away when you die. im certain this is a bug, but try to make sure you never need to use a revivify spell on a person with a buff. further note things like the eye that gives you "see invisibility" will work after a little while since that is bound to an item.
for the gnomes prison escape i just tossed in some random bludgeon weapons and it worked, also, if you outright just kill all guards ahead of time, they will all survive easily
You can also destroy the walls yourself, if you break the boat chains and synchronize well enough breaking the walls, all prisoners will escape without any need of a fight.
So first off that Drakethroat Glaive spell can be used on any weapon. Either drop a weapon on the ground of simply cast the spell on another character and it’ll go on their active weapon (so make sure they have the melee or ranged weapon active depending which you want it on). The biggest thing you may actually miss about the drakethroat glaive, even once you know the buff can be applied on other weapons, is that you can twin spell the spell. So either you can do so by using the act 3 gloves or the sorc meta magic. Meaning you can drop 2 weapons on the ground, and using twin spell cast it on both of them and now have 2 weapons with the buff at the same time which otherwise wouldn’t be possible even if it bugged out and let you cast it more than once per long rest.
6:48 i had the Morninglords Radiance buff for a day and assumed it was gone after I rested. Like 10 rests later I switched characters and switched back and both characters had regained Morninglords Radiance, dealing an additional 1d4 radiant damage on successful weapon attacks
@@TZShadow1 i first noticed on Jaheira, who I hadn’t even met yet then I swapped Astarion back to get some items from his inventory and he also had it, but he was with me along w Karlach and Shadowheart when I got the buff
There is an additional piece of infernal iron in Grymforge. If you talk to the 2 Duergar who are by the collapsed rubble with yellow crystals he'll ask you to assess the rubble. there are 3 checks to pass, when you report back to him he gives you a piece, and has some mundane items to sell.
In NWN (3.5E) there was a bunch of different armor types: armor (also bracers), shield, deflection (cloaks, rings etc), natural (amulets), item dodge (boots) and other dodge (class abilities / skills / feats). you could stack 1 of each with the exception of the various sources of dodge
After i got the lantern i read on a site were they said that releasing the pixie would be an extremely bad option and and that it would lock you out from exploring many parts of the map and make your playthrough a lot harder in different ways. So much misinformation nowadays on many of these gaming guide sites 😁 I will release it the first thing i do tomorrow when i play.
the dragon glaive buffs can be casted on any other party member, so u can imbue any weapon you want, even ranged and the effect wont go away if the caster switches weapons.
It will be very cool of you to do the video of items/quests for "evil playthrough". Its really needed cuz there are like no content on youtube on Durge/evil choises (example: cool robe if you kill isobel in last light inn)
Araj is also a vendor. Risky Ring gives you advantage on all attacks for disadvantage on saving throws. This is almost always a good trade, and on the right character can make a huge difference. You almost never miss. This should have been mentioned too. It's an incredible item.
Use the Drakethroat Glaive on ANOTHER character and buff youself with it! You dont need to buff the holder of the weapon! You basically use the Glaive as a buff item and remove it!
The items from vendors from this game is very far away from realistic DND prices. :( Someone is going to mod it. Waiting for that for the next play through. Gonna come back to the game in a year.
the room before the dagger of shar has three buffs that give you like +5 to wis ,int , cha untill long rest .that you can get if you don't take the dagger not sure if can get more then once.
Thanks for the tip. The game really needs to do a better job at telling you when one of your characters gets a buff. Plus the dagger is nothing special, I would rather have the 25 wisdom until long rest. :) If only I could figure out a way to restore Shadowheart's spell slots without a LR.
If I had the fight int the Bar Last Light Inn, before I rescued the Tieflings. Does that mean that my loot is gone 4 ever or does somebody knows If i can find them again?
Dude this. So many bugs in this game. I was so mad when I realized I let that pervert beat me in the Goblin Camp for the buff and then it disappeared when my character died.
easiest way to deal with the guards on prison escape is shove them into chasms to their doom a cat will lure them to the edge and shove very easy, the eyes can just be tossed into the void
@@Thunterise that wasn't really what I was asking. It was bugged during early access and 2 patches have been released. All I was trying to ask if it was fixed.
Bit of cheese I been using... but with the Drakethroat Glaive... you can cast that on any party members equipped weapon.... and still have the buff if you swap off the Glaive to something else...
I'll never get to meet the quarter master of blacksmith because the village attacked me on arrival so I had to kill them all in self defence. So gutted, I was looking forward to buying cool gear.
There's also a unique armour set. Available at the quartermasters in the last light inn that you will want to pick up. The Yuan-ti Scale Mail. It's a suit of Scale Mail that allows the user to add their full dexterity modifier to their Armour Class, does not impose Disadvantage on Stealth Ability Checks, and gives you +1 bonus to Initiative Rolls.
Dam on the part where you insert the waking mind, it bugged on me so hard. Everytime I put it on to interact with it my character would freeze with no dialogue starting. I can’t get it out of it and also have to restart. But it never changes so I just left it alone.
I would put the Spear of Night and Dark-Justicar Half plate in the same class of "Easy to miss and really don't want to" category...especially given the Shadowheart implications.
Another early infernal iron drop in act 1 if you go to the underdark and pick up the save the gnomes from the duegar quest, head to their base across the water and on your right hand side coming up the first set of stairs there is a duegar merchant standing next to some crumbled statues. He will ask you what you think happened based on the debris and if you pass all three checks(perception, investigation, and history i think?) then tell him your findings he will gift you a piece of infernal iron for helping him piece the story together.
He didn't mention the most important part of the drakethroat glaive. It can enchant any weapon. Get your weapon of choice throw it on the ground and then use drakethroat to enchant your weapon of choice!
You can also get infernal iron in act 1 at the duergar fortress, if you talk to the merchant by the dock he will ask you to look at the ruins, if you pass all the checks he gives you one as a reward 🎉
I don't think you have mentioned the Ring of Protection in any of your videos. Like the cloak it gives +1 Armor Class and +1 to Saving Throws and it is obtainable as a reward by Mol in Act 1 for completing the "Steal the sacred Idol" quest. Given that you're probably on an evil or evil-ish playthrough it's a really good bonus very early on.
You can resolve the shadow druid problem finding the latter comspirancy and kill them all, then you can steal the idol and nothing will happens. Just use some shadow arrow or maybe a cloud spell before stealing and port to you camp ASAP.
There is a permanent buff in act 1 in the goblin camp, where if you enter the temple, there is a drow elf that is tormenting some goblins or something like that. If you choose to accept his proposition to get a spanking and if you pass some ability checks (i did them with intimidation), you'll get a cool buff, but i forgot what it did. It was good for melee characters tho. Also if you let Volo do his thing (people probably know what i'm talking about), you will get to permanently see invisible creatures, which is a level 2 spell for free, with a nasty price to pay, but still worth the buff
I think this is a permanent buff that activates when your HP hits 30%. However I think you can only get this buff with the performance skill check and not intimidation
What happens if you re doing an evil walkthrough and you ve killed dammon in act 1? Is there any way to find the items he crafts? And do the people at lights inn still sell you stuff?
Sweet I just made it to Act 2 yesterday! Anybody know if it's OK to go to Moonrise and rescue the prisoners, get the loot, then leave, do all the side stuff in the region and come back to progress the story, or is it once I'm in there I'm locked in till I defeat Ketheric?
Has anyone taken the two brains from the nautiloid to the head in act 2? Curious if there is something with those since you get them at the start of the game
I heard from a PC guy that you will get some dialogue at least, he didn't mention anything about loot though. I'm going to try it whenever I get there, but it will be a while since it took me 100+ hours to scour everything in Act 1 lol.
Not sure if anyone covered it but act 1 there 3 ogors or whatever they are well you can convince to join you. location blighted village well if you kill them one of them has a crown that gives 17 intelligence. not 100% sure but i think to get the =2 strength you can't assault mood rise because I've done that twice and the person wasn't their
The halberd of vigilance is actually really good with the proper build. If you combine it with polearm master and play it properly(which is made easier by having mobile or sentinel) you can give yourself an extra attack with advantage every round(assuming you’re not spending your reaction on something else).
