So it seems like some people are still hearing a high pitched buzzing sound in my audio. This is tough because I literally don't hear it myself (maybe I got too much wax lol) but I will continue to tweak things & hopefully be rid of it next vid! Correction (as stated later in the video) console players will not get "all" mods as each platform has its own rules etc Sounds like most mods will be fine though but what do I know.
@zemo2916 No it's definitely there, if the majority can't hear it that's just because our hearing range degrades over time- by the time you're 18 you probably can't hear above 18-20khz but it's absolutely there
@@davynox5245You can tell its his setup not on the App side because it only buzzes when he talks, it's baked into his mic recording. If it was something else the sound wouldn't be so consistently linked to his voice
BG3 with official Mod Support is what i wanted. I may also try my hand as well! What I'll want is 1. DM mode. 2. Summoning tweaks 3. Companions of the Hall Playthrough. Larian is the best and understands it's player base!
And not a microtransaction to be found. They could make a killing adding cosmetic outfits or cosmetic companion skins, cosmetic camp items like new tents and decorations etc. If this was Ubisoft or EA it would be loooooaded with them.
Meanwhile 2K can't even be bothered to make a SINGLE bugfix patch/hotfix for an "affects 100% of players" game breaking bug for Midnight Suns, despite cashing in on all the DLC purchases people are making from it being free on Playstation (and soon Epic). Love that game but I ain't ever touching a 2K game again that's for sure.
Omg i cant wait for mod support! I know itll probably break the many mods i already have but thats okay lol. Thank you for always keeping up updated Wolf! ❤
As a pc player I’m so happy they sending mods to consoles , mods are the future of modern gaming add so much value and fun . The more people modding and using mods the better for everyone!
@WolfheartFPS, "Safe" don't only means content but also malware. The API allowed on Official and console sites are probably limited to prevent triggering any processes outside of the game. It basically means you can't extend the script (API) or change/modify executables. (with the intention of running mods in a closed environment.) Nexus is safe as well as it relies on community monitoring, open source and rep. It's a lot more complicated if Larian was to do the same when hosting mods, as they are a easy target for liability. They kind of have to be able to document they have done a reasonable effort to prevent ill intended programs to run, or continue running after the game is shut down, as it's often expected that they got the tools to do so. As publisher of both game and mods they have a harder time shrugging their shoulders and say it's outside of their control and expertise. Ease of access also presents informative hurdles in it self, often blurring the line between approved and hosted. It's never a fair game, It's always about expectations.
I have to thank Larian for giving me a lot of time to play with my vanilla BG3 before the full patch. I still need to get around to playing BG3 with my first playthrough. Man I can tell with the mods this game is gonna be like Skyrim for many many years. Hope someone makes a flintlock mod though I don’t really wanna give my group modern guns lol.
I just want to play a campaign as Optimus Prime, Thomas the Tank Engine, Barney, and Shadowheart without bangs from the beginning on my PS5. Is that too much to ask?
So sad we gotta wait until September for the next patch, but I'm glad we got a date. I haven't played since February in anticipation for mod support, but I got time for at least 3 playthroughs until then. Lol.
I have the Whispers of Divine mod that lets me play as a Aasamir so I would love to see different races added. The mods provide origin dialogue options so it would be interesting to see it from an official stand point.
Holy s**t modding tools? I remember NWN shipping with their dev tool, which meant you could change the campaign, make your own modules and the like. It was glorious. It inspired me to go and try out computer science. Good times.
super excited to see what official mod support adds to the already amazing modding community. On the subject of guns - I did a full playthrough as an artificer dual wielding revolvers and it was a ton of fun. The nexus has a wide range of 5e content that fits perfectly into BG3 already
@@nikkishins not anymore. The Unearthed Arcana artificer did, but the full release version in Tasha’s does not. The artillerist does get a little arcane cannon with different modes though. The only part of artificer that mentions firearms are that if your DM uses the firearm rules from the DMG, an artificer is proficient with them. But it’s not caked into the core rules of the class by default. Confusingly, the 5th level artillerist lets you thrn a wand, staff, or rod into an “arcane firearm” but this isn’t the same use of firearm. It doesn’t mean gun at all. Just lets you cast artificer spells through it and add 1d8 damage to the attack if an attack is channeled through it.
@@gameraven13 Making an entire class or even subclass that's unusable in 95% of games because there won't be firearms in 95% of settings isn't a great use of print space.
@@brilobox2 yeah??? And???? What does that have to do with my comment? They asked if artificer had guns by default. I said no and provided context as to why that is a common assumption. Unneeded addition on your part.
I don't normally use mods, because they are not made by the original developers, but this game may be an exception. I really want things like Minsc in Act 1 and more challenging and creative endgame battles as long as they are lore friendly. Imagine being able to go back to Act 1 from Baldur's Gate and there is a cool new Dragon battle waiting for you. I'm very excited for that Anniversary content they are talking about
If you want a taste of what could come from the BG3 modding community, Skyrim is the last place you should look. Neverwinter Nights is where it's at. Granted, NWN is a different beast that was built from the ground up as a VTT long before anyone even thought of the term but that doesn't change the fact that modders translated entire D&D source books into the Toolkit, including (almost) the whole Monster Manual, for DMs to run adventures with. For all intents and purposes, there were two kinds of NWN mod. Some mods were adventures you could download and play but most mods added content to the Toolkit enabling other modders to make adventures for you to download. The NWN modding community made it possible to create campaigns completely unrelated to the base game with just about any race, class, prestige class, spell, skill, item, and monster, in any region of the Forgotten Realms, and if you didn't like it you could run an alternative ruleset for Eberron or some other setting. BG3 modding will never be what NWN modding was, mainly because the game simply wasn't designed with that kind of modding in mind but also because WotC are the Blockbuster of gaming that saw the success of NWN and ran away in fear of new-fangled computer games cutting into their book sales. 20-odd years later and they're trying to catch the gravy train with their own VTT and you can bet your bottom dollar they don't want BG3 modding to even come close to interfering with their evil genius plans of RPG world domination. EDIT: WotC is Thay.
As someone that only recently started adding mods to BG3, hopefully this will stream line things and sort the majority of update breaking common mods going forward. Must respect to Larian for continuing to make BG3 great!
Cant wait for somebody to Mod in more Drow related content. Would love a path to a standalone Menzobaranzen area, or at least interact with a group of Drow, be they Lolth based or Eilliestrian. We need more Drow stuff in game than just Minthara and the Drider🤘
I am looking forward to this. Hoping I'll be able to create spells, classes and subclasses from other books. Hopefully other races, too. I would be REALLY happy if we could also use the tool to create our own adventures.
"it seems like you're not able to create an alternative ending or new quests" Yeah you can that's what a script extender allows. Basically what they say here is they can't have anything like that on their site so if you were looking for something that uses scripts you'd have to go to mod nexus. So likely console won't be seeing quest mods or bear love or anything else that messes with Scrips or the game's license agreement
If you don't know what scripts are. Scripted mods are mods in which the mod developer writes their own code for the game which is why larian can't provide support for something they didn't create. When mods do come out please don't download something that bricks your 200hr save file and blame larian
@@Plight_ They already replied to one of the Tweet that the modding tool they'll be releasing won't be able to make new quest/cutscenes/level compared to the GM mode they had for DOS2, their reasons being; guideline limitations for consoles, and ""technical constraints"" for PCs. Modders have SE, yes, but it's going to be nigh impossible to make new game space if they don't have the proper level editor Larian has on the back end. It's not just Larian being unable to support these script heavy mods, it's more of modders not having a more robust tool like Bethesda's CK to make new level designs.
@@KenMochii yeah console was always out of the question. But for pc weird they didn't mention that here. I'm curious to know what exactly are these technical constraints
i cant wait for the official modding support. Been playing with mods since Launch and cant wait to see what people will do with an actual toolkit. The modders have already came out with some cool classes and new races cant wait to see whats next.
Oh I cant wait for what the community will be making with these tools... definitely wanting a full 5e expanded class overhaul and spell additions mods!
Wolf, thanks for keeping us up-to-date on "all things" BG3 and Larian! I was hoping that multi-monitor support was going to be added (via mod), but it doesn't sound like that is going to be an option. 😢
There's also already a gun mod. My statement is in reference to there being an official mod which will bring a ton of players into the modding universe.
@@WolfheartFPS yeah I’m really excited for the official mod support and appreciate your vid talking about the info. I meant that the opportunity to use guns in bg3 is on nexus currently in a wonderful mod but challenges in conveying tone via written word strike again. So if it comes across as “well ackshully”, that wasn’t what was intended at all
Console mods is the nicest thing a company can do for us. Its the best ne frontier that is hardly scratched and will make their product live on much past its natural lifespan
you can already easily mod your companions looks through Enhanced edit mods. Last playthrough i gave La'zel a wild punky hairstyle and minthara some some goth girl vibes. Theres even an undead playable race mod now that is very detailed.
Yup that is why Larian brought that up in their update. It's not official yet though and therefore the majority of the player base will not use it until it's more easily attainted via patch 7.
So, no level/story designing tool for modders? Which means: no way we get some alternative to Neverwinter Nights (Dragon Age had it as well, IG) toolkit which gave birth to real masterpieces of RPG? It's really disappointing.
Wanted to try the Aasimar race mod or the changling one. Gonna Wait for the official mod tools release ;). Would be nice to have a mod where you're able to move with WASD but the camera still stay in isometric view. Like in the "mutant: year zero".
Honestly, I'm generally unimpressed with the VAST majority of the mods that exist for BG3 on Nexus right now. Very few of them make any meaningful changes or improvements to game play or add new playable material to the game. It seems like most modders are more interested in finding ways to put Shadowheart in boob-plate armor or a low-cut evening gown for her adventuring than anything else. Like, Divinity Original Sin 2's mods had some incredibly interesting changes to the base game available that made replaying the exact same plot into a totally different game experience.
I can’t wait for the mods! But I also have a few achievements I haven’t unlocked. I wonder if that’s gonna mess with my ability to unlock those last few achievements I need.
Man I cant wait to be disappointed and not get the ability to have custom campaigns or dungeons, I can only replay the base game so many times. How can friggin Solasta get it done but BG3 might not?
You should remember that WotC own all D&D characters, scenarios, adventures, character classes and so on. So you can not use those in mods! So no artificers, or any other official character classes in official mods! So it is up to WotC.. and that means there are strict limitations of official Modding!
@@WolfheartFPS lol! Hey wolf man, welp gotta rush my first extended playthrough and get to my dark urge playthrough quickly then because I've been playing this game at a world record leisurely pace.
Will we be able to create new areas, monsters/bosses ect? Something more meaty akin to DLC? New races, spells and weapons are cool but definitely would like something bigger
There seems to me, that there is this sort of ringing noise in this video everytime you speak in the mic. Its not very loud but certainly noticeable. I'm not being a hater, just wanted to point this thing out.
@@WolfheartFPS only certain people can hear it? Like a dog whistle hahaha that is kinda funny. I love your videos btw and good luck fixing the problem, I can imagine not being able to hear it yourself makes it much harder to fix!
Does this mean that we're not going to get many more updates and including new things? Since they're adding mods, I'm guessing that there won't be much need to give us new things in future updates just more mod tools
The only mod I really am interested in is one that removes the effects of a certain gift you can receive at the start of act 3. I don't like the cosmetic changes. Also, there is one that makes the Blood of Lathander do radiant damage with each attack. I really do not understand why it doesn't without the use of a mod.
Does anyone know will this patch affect my ongoing campaign? I'm in act 3 now and if I wait for the patch can I possibly get new endings and things to do?
How so? Unless you are talking about unofficial mod support then of course yes. That's why Larian brought it up in the article because it already exists unofficially.
