Don't convince the Rothe to clear the rubble. Convince them to turn on their masters. It trivializes the fight with the dwarves, which you have to do anyway, and they still clear the rubble afterwards as thanks.
Both the weapons and the shield will get replaced real quick. Do the armors instead. At the end of the game, some of your characters will most likely still be using them. Crit immunity is just that important, and there aren't that many items in later arcs that grant it.
@@NRProductionss I think you're confused. The armor makes you immune to being crit on by enemies. If you want to crit more often, you need gear that increases the crit range. There are a couple one-handed weapons that do (especially fun to dual wield them as a ranged, since the buff carries over to your ranged weapon) and a couple hats as well. If there are more, I don't remember. One of the weapons is in the gith base. Rest are in act 3 as far as I know.
@@Zanian19 I was confused, but not about the armour, I know it doesn’t give crits but prevents them. Where I was confused was the weapons, as I thought they gave you crits, so that’s why I asked about weapons giving you crits as I thought you were saying you would quickly get similar weapons. I’ve looked it up and the adamantine weapons only give crits on OBJECTS not enemies so not as good as I thought! Thanks for answering though as it led to me clearing up the confusion and gave good advice on how to increase crits 👍
Shield gives You crit. immunity too... and you can use it with yours spell-caster (what is really good). I prefer it then Medium-Armor , that most of time is for Clerics or Ranger - and they need more other buffs then crit. immu. But generaly the Heavy Armor is one of the best in game, sure ther are better in Act 3 - but not a lot of them, and still You can use this one if you need two Heavy Armors (I now run my 2nd. game with two fighters - Warrior and Palladin - and its super fun). Not sure its just me - and i missed something, but Heavy Armor are 2nd. "rarest" magic imtes in game... I even run normal 1x Plate Armor (and i had one Plate +1) when i got this one. The only more rare are "capes" for me - in my 2nd run, i just starts 2nd. ACT and i have ONE.... ONE :D Ps. Lets not forget we gets Healmet too in this quest - so its 3rd item that gives crit. immu.
You do not need to raise the platform.. You also dont need to hammer him twice, if you set up your party since he starts with soiftened armor, you can frontload your partys damage quite heavily on turn one, just make sure the last person to hit him is standing in the middle. If you get him to half health or lower, he can die immediately the following turn. This prevents him from spawning the adds
I had my paladin/warlock and gale cast cloud of daggers in the spot where the adds spawn they only have 12 HP on balanced so it is a 1-2 hit kill so they never get to move if you kill grym within 10 turns you never have to worry about the adds
I gave my Level 6 Berserker Karlach a two-handed maul (it's weak to bludgeoning), Enraged her, and smashed it to bits over four turns right by the grate it pops out of. Also popped an Oil of Accuracy right before starting the fight.
I took a break from BG3 and when i got back i forgot where i was, so thank you so much for this video. I was so lost as to what to do with this damn quest so this was a great help! i made both armors as many people mentioned that the weapons where quickly outclassed. When i compared the stats i also saw that i already had better weapons. So thank you for the amazing guide!!
You don’t have to go all the way around. Go to Nere, and on the left you can jump or misty step to a cliff which has a adamantine mold, hit the waypoint and teleport the rest of the party it the forge. I always have trouble deciding whether to do Grym or Nere first. If you long rest too many times you miss your chance to fight Nere. Don’t worry, the Druegar and Gnomes politely leave his loot behind for you.
Forget about all the weapons - they're not worth crafting and a waste of the Ore. IMO, the shield and medium armor are the best options for most parties. The heavy armor is alright, I suppose, but the medium armor is *almost* as good protection-wise, plus it'll allow +2 to AC from DEX and more folks in your party can potentially wear it. The shield has been a given on all my play-throughs so far because it stays useful probably the longest out of all the items - and lots of characters can use it, even folks like Gale or Wyll who shouldn't be running armor. The only time I'd recommend the heavy set instead is if you have someone in your party constantly who needs heavy armor (basically for fighter-Tavs or Lae'zel fan-bois). Then again: Having 14 DEX for those +2 to AC is good for *any* class and like that, the medium set will grant the same AC as the heavy one. So I guess the only *real* scenario where I would craft the heavy set is if I plan to not use it at all but to sell it on. It does have the highest value of all the Grymforge gear.
Hey bro, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for this wonderful guide. I got stuck in several parts and you really help me out. Also,, I really enjoy your narrative style. You’re slow enough so people can see where you are on the map. Don’t know how many continent craters rust through how to get someplace and 40 seconds into it. You’re stopping the video and going back and re-watching because you can’t keep up with them , that was not the case with you nicely done my friend you got a sub
Where you killed Nere just walk over to the left where the defaced statue is and get Lae’zel to psionic jump over to the corresponding ledge waypoint is right there. Or misty step whatever gets you over.
instead of misty stepping back and forth you can just misty step the first time to the mould platform and then shoot either lever with a bow to activate them from there. on a fighter you can almost kill him in 1 turn with action surge and extra attacks.
You can just mist step to the forge from the area you kill nere at and unlock the waypoint and quick travel everyone.. from there you can back track if u want to get all the molds.
9:05 It is possible to jump from the levers' controls location to the 'library' ruins further leftside, closer to the place where the Splint Mould is located. I used the forge to craft heavy armour and shield for my paladin.
I made a shield and medium armour my first playthrough. It worked for my party composition, but I kind of regretted it later. The shield isn't a bad choice, It depends on your party composition, but but it became obsolete fairly quickly. One of each kind of armour is the "safer" option I think.
@@PaulRGauthier I'm on my thrird playthrough and I only NOW learn this?! Darn it! I think I'm too late to go back and make another item in this run as I'm at Last Light now. (Its also probably not worth it anyway) I'll go have a look to see if I can quick travel back anyway this evening and try to make something else if I can go back. I can easily see in a year or so that there are over 100 lumps of Adamantine knocking around really! We just havn't found them all yet and Larian are just having a laugh at us all struggling by with only one or two Adamantine items!
Made the two armors because I already have more weapons and shields than I can use. No one uses longswords or scimitars anyway. The heavy armor will go to Lae'zel when I take her in for the Crêche which I will do soon. She may be thankful for the extra protection.
How on earth were you able to forge the second item????? Everything is stuck for me. Tried lowering it down and up again and down again. Nothing worked.
@@almansour_82 Good thing I keep recordings (the one with Grym and the items still is raw and unedited, though). I just checked. Looks like after forging the first item and picking everything up, the chamber was blocked at first, but I could open it again after pulling the Mould Ejection Lever once more. Before I moved the platform up.
There is a bug that could cause this. You will have to reload the last fight when that happens. There is a big at the end of the video I explained how to avoid the bug.
If you use the shield AND armor on the same character, the wiki says it will interfere with applying the reeling condition. The shield is better if you want to focus on the reeling condition, since the higher your AC is the more likely the penalty will stay active. With the armor, once they hit, they'll have the penalty, and more likely to miss, which makes the penalty fall off.
I feel really bad for people who tried to use the adamantine forge without using any guides whatsoever. Can only imagine how many hours it took of savescumming trying to figure out why the hell it wasn't working. And if you hit that button before pulling the mould lever you're screwed lol, it's crazy.
I was saying the same thing to my husband while watching this, after not figuring out how to get there. I didn't realize I could shoot arrows at controls...sigh. Thank you Nix Zin for the guide, it was really helpful and you have a cute accent- Grandma Jo
Daaamn it after 1 hour of reloading and replaying and doing all researches i decided to change my scimitar for the shield . MFcker has given me 2 scimitar instead of the shield
Wow. I did this differently. I missed the shield and sword. I used fly to the way point. Hit at the top. Mage handed the forge. Throw commands from above. For some reason 25 bludgeon damage per 1 pound item thrown. Dead in one cycle no hammer.
onnestly i see lot of ppl hating on the weapons meanwhile if youre playing in a group that wants simular things these are amazing im playing a paladin one hand and shield wielding the sword as our ranger is getting all the crit item for his build both playing halforc as well onnestly works well that way whouldnt write them off as worst option all depends on your party
Judging by the cost , it is best to make adamantine plate armor; you can forge two pieces. I'm wondering whether to make two armor (for a tank and a priest) or make armor and a shield. What do you think?
The shield isn't bad at all. I made it my first time through and it served me well for a while. But I kind of regretted by Act 3 and wished I'd made one of each kind of armour. There are some very good shields later on.
TIP FOR KILLING GRYM: Using shadowheart, or anyone with the “command” spell, makes this fight easy as hell. Command him to approach shadowheart when she’s on the edge of the hammer. If he gains resistances again, simply command him to flee. Then repeat. I was confused. I dropped the hammer on him, did a ton of damage, but then he gained his “immune to bludgeoning” and was unaffected. All you have to do it get him into the lava again, it will give him the superheated debuff. That debuffs his resistances for 2 turns. Side note: the weapons are garbage and get outclassed quick. Build the armor, even if you don’t have an immediate use for it. That armor will last all the way through act 3
Is there anyway to process the adimantine slag i have to get more ore? Or is it just useless? And if you answer my question please drop a like because RU-vid doesn't tell me when you reply, but it will say when you like my comment.
The weapons look a little disappointing to me for what they’re hyped up to be. I’ve already got better or equivalent gear minus the resistance negation, but as far as that goes, I’ve either not ran into many enemies with resistance, or I just haven’t noticed it. Even if I run into an enemy with resistances up the ass, there’s going to be another way of killing them.
I can't use the forge once again, beacause I can't insert adamantite... the forge is no more interactive and I can insert only mold. I don't know why 😮
That’s a bug that could happen making the forge stuck after first use. You will have to reload save unfortunately. Make sure to lift then platform up and back down again before inserting the second mold.
Yea that forge has some bug that can render it stuck. Happened to me once in my first play through. I had to reload my save file. But I’m surprised they still haven’t patch it.
It's possible that you encounter the bug that stuck the forge for you. See the end of the video, there is a specific order you have to do for the second piece.
Do we only get to pick two items? Since there's only 2 ores??? I'm tryna get and complete each and every quests in act 1 and yes I'm still in act 1 bought it 2 days early access since this game dnt have new game plus I wanna make the most out of it
just finished creating 2 armors for karlach and shadowheart hope its worth it but its making me think its better with astarion since when he wears it AC becomes 19@@nixzxin
@@Beepbupbap Karlach is a barbarian and shouldn't wear armor at all. Barbarians get an AC bonus from not wearing armor. That AC bonus can be a like wearing plate, but with no negatives on saving throws.
@@rich1051414This guy is confused. Ignore him. There's plenty of reasons to wear armor on a Barbarian, like the special effects they provide or your stat allocation.
Do i miss something important if i killed the both dwarves and the humanoid plants after completed their quest? I mean, saving the groove and killing the soverein spawn, and the Nere one (i completes them all but killed the both factions since i came to the conclusion both of them were evil) Thanks btw. That part of the map is kinda cryptic.
some peoples also said dont let the guardian died around the hammer thingy so just bait it away and dont forget always save before and after killing the boss just in case shit happens, tho in my playthrough, my armor was forged while i am fighting the boss
Well it's adamantine, which is a metal, so makes a lot of sense for heavy armor and weapons. You have to look elsewhere for mage items. I think it's fine.
