Around 5 NPCs from the Iron Throne died in my Honour run, because rhey took 3 turns staring at the ladder not able to climb it, thay got me a bit upset ngl

Happened to me on my first playthrough, too, and it prevented my party from being able to get out, too. If Astarion hadn't been on the sub, I would have lost. That's why I always bring Gale to cast Arcane Gate. If you go up to the edge of the floor access on the level above the prison section, you have a small window of targetable area in that lower level *next to* the ladder leading up. Have someone cast Arcane Gate and, so long as you don't drop concentration, you've got a secondary means of transportion up to the sub that won't cost extra movement speed. About half to 3/4th the prisoners will use it and it prevents so much clogging...

I created a mod for myself that's posted on the nexus called Lucky Underwear that gives underwear that provide the luck feat. Also you get luck points based on the level of your character, up to a maximum of 3. Lucky underwear might be perfect for her. Maybe they'll even save her life lol. Wouldn't that be funny?

You can save her if you knock her out at the grove before you do a long rest after meeting her with the Durge.

@@Smokingman25I tried to do that but she appeared after i saved all the tieflings and they all left and then i accepted it as a canon event and it makes a great starting point for a redemption arc, even in the epilogue the narrator says i still regret what happened to alfira even after rejecting the urge and saving baldur’s gate, like this is redemption arc will give arthur morgan and kratos a run for their money

11:50 A minor correction here: Larian has no relation to Dragon Age Origins (it is a Bioware game) and DAO never had the feature you're talking about. It is 'Divinity Original Sin 2' - the previous Larian game that had a full-blown Game Master mode, where you could build your own map, fill it with your own NPCs and play there as a dungeon master against players in multi-player. That idea for BG3 was absolutely forbidden by Hasbro ('cause otherwise a lot of people would move from buying WotC stuff to just playing BG3 online with friends).

there is a new mod guide by magnetuning called a new voice in town, it basically shows you the way to add entirely new characters, voice lines, cutscenes, and scene triggers. and you can even puts a new fully-voiced character in the game.. with the BG3 toolkit unlocked mod, i think it's not impossible to make an entire new campaign.. (it probably took a lot of time to mod tho.. so i am expecting a new fully voiced quest will be available probably next year, if the modders willing to give their time)

As someone who still occasionally goes back to play NWN1 and NWN2, I can confirm the modding scene is still somewhat active. Same thing with BG2. There's a LOT of mods out there that extend the life of those games and I know of AT LEAST ONE where the creator of the mod took what they made and used it to eventually make their own game. I think it's in BG3's best interest for these modding tools to be unlocked and frankly I hope Larian lies to Hasbro and feigns ignorance if Hasbro calls them out for letting the level editor make it into the mod manager.

I had the ladder bug where my character couldn't climb down the ladder, no matter what I did. He just froze in place. I was clicking like crazy right before the bug happened, and the other party memeber were climbing up while I was trying to climb down. Being reckless and clicking a lot might be a way to reproduce the bug, Larian will probably fix it quickly.

I just started playing for the first time a couple days ago and I’m up to the goblin camp. I’ve hardly had any spoilers of the game either. Absolutely loving it. And I was really hesitant that I would like it due to the combat. But In a weird way it kinda reminds me of playing wow. And then has amazing cutscenes and dialogue like the Witcher 3. Every area is so in depth. And stuff is around every corner. It’s amazing

1:44 - nope, any random climbing thing [rocks, veins, ect.], you need to teleport-to move 100% working, or 80%-quick - quick save, quick load.

The Iron Throne timer can't be a problem for ladder animations, because the timer is based on rounds and not real time. So unless you have a freezing bug on the ladder, it's all fine.

Just in case, take someone who can cast Arcane Gate to connect the upper and lower levels of the Iron Throne in a secondary way that doesn't require extra movement speed. You can reliably save most if not all prisoners so long as the caster doesn't drop concentration

Ive encountered the ladder freeze about 4 times so far in my playthrough, im currently halfway thrlugh act 2. Basically one of your companions will wait to climb a ladder, but then freeze and it takes like 10 seconds for them to be able to walk anywhere again

4:37 i have a theory. I cant test it as a console player but it probably wont work. Remember the karlach trick? That. So my theory to test is during the party when you can recruit her drag her way off to the far back corner where no one can see her or you. Cast darkness/ silence. (Probably would need 2 player characters for this to work). Walk her over/ into that. Kill her. Have one of the 2 characters pick up the body. (Hill giant potion probably). Then wait for what cutscene *should* play out. Probably with the alt bard. Next day drop the body after the cutscenes played and see if a revivify scroll will work. If it does.....idk? You have a bard that has absolutely no planned dialogue going forward? Id be interested to see what dialogie choices there would be.

the ladder patch created an issue for me in the Underdark Duergar battleI ended up splitting my party with some downstairs when the battle started and they couldn't get up once combat commenced

I am sure someone will mod the scene of her coming to camp and joining your party without having to play the Dark Urge, and then not trigger the kill scene, and you keep her in your party. Of course, she will be mostly cosmetic, and there will likely be some issues when you come across the parts of the game where you're meant to meet her again.

For those who want Alfira's outfit you can get it in the 'basket full of equipment' mods. There are sfw and nsfw versions. There is also a dress version in another mod that adds a bag of dresses and camp clothing versions iirc As to the unlocker, I think Hasbro will likely only care once their own baldurs gate 4 is impacted. Since Larian are not going to be involved in bg4 I think we have a bit of time. If you are someone who wants to make stuff with the unlocked version, grab it from nexus and save it. I'd say do it now for patch 7, and do it whenever it updates for the next big patches. Larian added a beta branch in steam for us mod addicted folks who didn't want to start over, so you can go back to patch 6. With any luck, they will add a patch 7 beta if they have a patch 8 That way, if Hasbro yet the mod in future, we at least can use it for patch 7 if there is a beta roll back. Any expanded mod made with the unlocker will get 'curated' if you upload it to the official site. So anything Hasbro deems 'not in the spirit of OUR game, it's lore or OUR preferences' will go byebye there. Console users will loose out unfortunately. But pc players can still upload to the nexus and download and install from there. Or to any other site, if nexus chooses not to host that mod. I guess you could host your stuff on your own site, I've seen people post stuff on patrion before now lol.

When Luality spoke with Larian leadership at a recent con they said this was the last major update for BG3. They said they will still do bug fixes, but any new content will need to come from modders. She specifically asked about new romances and Larian seemed pretty clear they would not be doing anything else that in depth. So that conflicts with you hearing this was not the last major update for the game But I wander if you kill Alfira after you accept her as companion, but before you sleep, and ask the Withers to guard her corpse if you can recall her after the rest.

Ladders have been a problem all along. I had countless times in early access and IIRC even after release where characters would climb to top of ladder and fall off for no reason, only to break the ladder on fall AND take tons of damage themselves. But seriously though, by the time you reach the city at least your PC should be able to FLY...

I recently tried BG3. I'm still no fan of the combat at all and I wish there was a different mode to play it like a skyrim type combat....but I do understand now why people love it. It has a really good story, really good narrative and companions. Very in depth side content and the graphics and aesthetics are enjoyable. I'll never be able to enjoy its combat system. But I'm able to recognize it is a very well made game.

I noticed the character freezing on ladders last night. In the underdark on the rocks he would just stand at the top and not move. I had to jump somewhere to allow me to move him again. Happened more than once. It's weird but not game breaking, just inconvenient.

I honestly don't think that line is all that big of a spoiler; for most players, if they don't know the significance of those words and what they mean, especially being a Bhal spawn, most people won't get it. Even then, most people interested in the game now are people who have played it for ridiculous amounts of time.

OOOh I'm not enjoying the new ladder mechanic. It's soooo slow. Companions keep getting stuck and I leave them behind until they break their rubber band and get lost. It's made playing a summon build a bit like a nightmare. I LOVE the newly functional party banter for relationships. I started romancing Astarion, then accidentally triggered Gale's romance starter really late in Act 1 by clicking a dialogue option I hadn't seen before. It was so funny I left it to see what happened later. Apparently constant and incessant roasting was what would happen. Every time I go out with Gale in the party, everyone gives him shit about pining for the player character while Astarion 'won' Tav's affections. It's actually given me a reason to bring poor Gale out into the world! 🤣🤣🤣 Swen's response on Twitter was freaking priceless. He's such a GM. They need to bribe him with chocolate... that always worked for my players when I GMed back in the day🤣🤣🤣

Bard are so strong in dialogue interactions that they probably didn’t include one because it would make it easy to pass a lot of the checks. I wouldn’t mind a Jaehira romance but it does suit her being one love thing but I’d enjoy being an older character that breaks through and adopting her kids with her

Alfira was just added to be abused by the dark urge and that's it. While I respect Larian's right to do so and the right of players to be bad guys that is not who I am . Not who I play as. I would have loved for Alfira to be in my "good guy' party and I lament the fact she cannot be unless someone finds a way to mod her in which I hope happens.

A. As DU, you can save her. B. She serves a purpose in other playthroughs. C. You dont get to decide everything that your character does, especially when it is a God's curse controlling them.
