We named our oldest dog (a Nortern Inuit) Selûne after this goddess. Just got this video recommended to me, most likely due to it being BG3 related. I enjoyed your video!
If I werent sold on a war cleric of Eillastree I'd do a Selune Cleric instead. I enjoy looking at the moon and it is good to be kind and respect others.
In Greek, one of our names for the moon is η Σελήνη / i Selíni - the Selene (depending on usage we commonly use the definite article before people's names in Greek). Only Selene is the personification of the moon itself/herself despite Artemis and Hecate also being moon goddesses in our pantheonic canon. 🌕🧿
Hi there! Also, by the windmill in the blighted village. Shadowheart has a weird experience with a broken statue there. I think she must have been one of the children who went missing.
@@kila3477 Thank you for letting me know that something I'm putting in my fanfic is actually happening in the game! I appreciate it! I wonder if I guessed the right person's name: Rochelle Kirk is the only name I remember from the list, so that's what I'm naming Shadowheart in my fanfic. :)
I have a feeling she won't participate in story directly, but that we will see more of her shrines and possibly worshipers. With so many gods blatantly encroaching on the human realm, having one that works behind the scenes could be refreshing.
I dont think Shar will be featured prominently either. I think their meddling is just a peripheral "hey we exist and we are prominent gods and kinda permanently opposed" kinda thing. One might be able to get a small edge on the other, but i think thats it.
@@faselfasel2864 yeah that's a good point. I'm not sure how prominent Finding the Nightsong will be, but it definitely won't be at the core of the story.
I don't think they will allow this but imagine how at odds you would be whit Shadowheart if you were allowed to play as a Oath of the Silverstar Paladin in BG3.
really appreciate all this content (I know I'm late to the video) but this really helps better appreciate shadowhearts backstory. Also I wonder why you think she's a former Selune worshiper? wild speculation or did I miss a foreshadow scene in the early access?
*Selune:* ❤️✨🌈Love & Light, my children🌈✨❤️ *Me, a Shar follower:* lOvE anD LiGhT my ChiLDrEn 🤪 *Ao, the Overlord:* Wait until they hear about the Dark Moon Prophesy, it’s gonna be so funny
It's unclear if Shar is actually evil in BG3. Throughout the game Shar is explained to be a goddess of darkness, loss, and secrets. Doesn't sound too bad so far. The only way I found out how evil she was was through videos. There are some books in the game on Shar but none of them felt super evil to me.
@@sharpasacueball It's only clear that Shar is evil during Act 2 but when Shadowheart tells the player that she worships Shar it isn't clear and all the books about Shar can easily be interpreted that she is a misunderstood goddess in the context of Shadowheart's dialog
