Hello just some advice on your baler. I have an old baler and it mucks up a bit. I would suggest that you take the tractor of the baler and do some hand cranking of the flywheel and trip the knotter to check the tying cycle. Check your Tucker finger with the needles making sure it has enough gap between the needle. Another option is you may have fraid towing coming up to the notter. Check your ceramic inserts could be worn out causing it to break in the knotter. You knotter knives may be blunt causing it to pullout.
I'll certainly tell him that, Thank you so much.. We have two, the other one is a New Holland, it won't tie either, But this one is finally tieing now, we had someone come and do some work on it!.. He will be an expert soon, I'd suppose.
Make sure you do a manual tie with the flywheel by hand so you can see the knotter and Tucker fingers. Take the side guards off and use a good torch. You may have blunt knives.
Tucker fingers have a spring , make sure it is tight to pull string over to bill hook . make sure bill hook is shiny with no rust . springs must be in good condition and not stretched .
Check the tails of the twine and the twine that broke its self, a broken piece of twine can tell exactly what is going on. If the tails ain’t the same size too, could be a couple of things. Easy fix. Look at the broken twine is all I can say. I’ve been doing alfalfa for 15+ years that’s my go to for a quick fix. Also broken bales could also mean the fingers ain’t completing its cycle. Check the cam roller also.
What does the end of the knots look like on the broken bales? 75 % of the time the problem in the wipe off arm I notice you are using 170 plastic twine. You will need to run at higher RPM because it is thicker twine. You will need to make sure your knife on the wipe off arm are sharp.
