This isn’t really something that needs to be debated. George RR Martin has already made it clear Balerion was the largest and fiercest dragons in the history of Westeros.
Vhagar is the size of balerion when the dance takes place, and younger. It wouldn’t be easy to defeat each other they most likely kill each other. Similar to how carexes Vhagar kill each other. Would be something though.

@@darwinodriscoll7750 my understanding of the dragons and seeing them fight, size mattered to a point, that being said they would be the same size, and dragons that big would do dmg, and that dmg would kill them both. Balerion is a beast, but he didn’t battle as much a Vhagar, so in their prime each Vhagar would have more experience, also Vhagar has killed more dragons then Balerion, Balerion has killed one dragon his whole life. If it was me I would ride Balerion myself but in a one v one I still believe They would kill each other. Good chat And be well 👍 👍
@@thegamerboneless2864 vhagar was stated to be the same size balerion was during the conquest, issue is balerian lived for another 100 ish years afterwards and got alot bigger then he was during the conuest before he was injured then he stopped growing after he was placed in the dragon pit which was for the last 40 ish years of his life

Now Godzilla even as small as OG54 and Minus One at 164 feet would murder all these dragons. And I think MonsterVerse Kong could do it too if he can shield himself from fire. But I’m not here to compare dragons to titans. My favorite dragon from the books is similar to the author’s and it’s Balerion the Black Dread. Bigger than Vhagar. Awesome design. Balerion is usually the most popular choice in polls. But for HOT D, it’s Silverwing. She’s telling me any buffoon can claim her. Silverwing is not much of a fighter. She’s nothing special in size. She was never as fast as Meleys. In the first episode of Season 2, the dragon who was afraid to go passed The Wall happened to be Silverwing that Cregan mentioned to Jace. She’s the most docile and friendliest among dragons although I don’t know why she rejected Rhaena repeatedly. I say if Ulf can claim her by being a drunken klutz, so could I if I had Old Valyrian blood in me. Maybe she wanted a boy this time after Alysanne (Daemon’s grandmother)? I really dig Silverwing’s design too. Love the shape of her head. I think her and Meleys have the best design starting from the shape of their heads. It was so fun to watch Ulf joyride her. Alysanne Targaryen was known as the Good Queen, and Silverwing seems to share the same temperament as her original rider. Silverwing reminds me of mares in horses. My favorite mare is Zenyatta. In war prior to automobiles, most of the military used mares as they’re generally quieter than male horses. If you go horseback riding, horses are usually mares or geldings (castrated males). The biggest and oldest dragon that Team Black has is Vermithor, Silverwing’s lover/mate. The third largest dragon behind Balerion and Vhagar. He’s about 75%-80% the size of Vhagar. I think Vermithor beats Caraxes if both were riderless or they had an equally talented rider on them. He’s just bigger than Caraxes and can chomp on Caraxes’ noodle neck. Maybe after we get to the Battle Above the Gods Eye, Caraxes might return being No. 1. But I think that has more to do on how badass and awesome Daemon is as a rider and fighter and not Caraxes’ raw talent. For now, I like the designs of the she-dragons from the Silver and Red Queens more. I think for male viewers, they’re going to love Vermithor. He’s the closest male equivalent to Vhagar in size while still being 80 years younger. Aemond was smart not to want that smoke coming from Dragonstone. I think Vhagar can wipe out four or five of the smaller dragons if Seasmoke happens to be the biggest one because Vermax and Moondancer are too small, but not against Vermithor backed up by Silverwing, Seasmoke, and Syrax. Caraxes isn’t even there yet. Vhagar may not handle Vermithor and Caraxes teamed up. Aemond should’ve not injured Sunfyre. Now he’s asking his sister for help in the Episode 8 trailer and for her to get on Drogon’s mama who has zero experience in fighting. Big mistake, Aemond. The top 3 heavy hitters among the dragons who remains alive are *Vhagar,* *Vermithor,* and *Caraxes.* There’s a considerable gap between them and the rest. Caraxes is half the size as Vhagar but is the fiercest among the smaller ones after Vermithor. Heavyweights Balerion (dead) *Vhagar* *Vermithor* *Caraxes* Meleys (dead) The rest are middleweights or lower. Silverwing is the third largest dragon in the Dance behind Vhagar and Vermithor but her personality is so docile, I can’t put her among the heavyweights when it comes to battle. Silverwing is a good girl dragon like Shimo in Godzilla x Kong after she was out of Skar King’s control. Silverwing is the perfect example of being kind or don’t be confrontational, and you can live longer.
Balerion vs Vhagar is a no-brainer, Balerion (except after his return from Valyria). I'd rather see the Daemon/Caraxes & Rhaenys/Meleys vs Aemond/Vhagar match. Great big beast with young rider against two experienced riders with better control over their more agile dragons (thus far, Daemon has displayed perfect bond with his dragon, no words or commands needed... and Rhaenys wasn't far behind in that respect). BTW, I hope the show won't mess with relationship between Daemon and Caraxes.
Maybe they're all overrated? Balerion is a legend because nobody has seen him that is alive to tell the story. If Balerion was still alive he would be a slightly bigger dragon than Vhagar was at the time of the dance that looked more like Drogon.

@Dino_Hunter_420 We don't know what really happened in that situation. For all we know Balerion killed something huge but got injured in the fight. We can only guess.
To be honest im not sure how one survives when 2 dragons and riders fight...the flames and heat are everywhere, especially when they lock claw to claw in a ball spitting flames...ijs🤷🏿
For you all who thinks vhagar overrated : Caraxes manage to take Vhagar with him only because Aemond allow Daemond fly before him and Vhagar. First Caraxes and Daemond took a fly then Ameond fly Vhagar after then Caraxes way faster so he manage put serious distance between him and Vhagar and sun was blinded Ameond and Vhagar allowed Caraxes blindspot attack which was Daemond plan and still Vhagar manage to drag Caraxes with herself if that was proper mid air fight which both of the Dragons can see each other from the distance Caraxes would dead meat which actually Daemond agrees with this because of this he was searching Vhagar with Sheepstealer a dragon who is bigger then Caraxes, he also admit this
And all of this dude saying was wrong Balerion was like 125 years of age which is older then Vermithor but way younger then Vhagar when compare begin and was smaller then current Vhagar , Vhagar was 181 years old when she died and still very strong and she didnt have any problem this channel mention, while Balerion was 210 when he died and he was barely moving and Vhagar was like %90 seize of Balerion while being 30 year younger when she died
@@teshanavishka95 balerion has the size advantage (official size charts have cannibal being slightly smaller then vhager) but cannibal was known as the most ferocious and feared dragon in westeroes (atleast among non targs) bc he would attack and kill any person or dragon that got near him and if the stories are true cannibal is seemingly from a 4th species of dragons (either a wild species or a remanent of another now extinct valrian house) and has been alive since before the targs settled on dragon stone meaning he would be the oldest and most experienced dragon by far and since he specialized in attacking,killing and eating other dragons (granted most were hatchlings and small juvenile dragons) that would give him a advantage over even balerian who only ever fought and killed 1 other dragon before making him even less expierenced then vhagar who has fought and killed 2 so far (granted 1 wasn't even a fight bc of the size difference) so it could go either way.
If Balerion melts stone during The Conquest. How much more stronger would his flames be 90 years older and HotD Vhagar can only melt soldiers in their armor or as you said melting steel. When you get technical it only makes these discussions all more unbearable to have because the power scaling never matches. If Balerion was so big he couldn't get off the ground his scales and fire should mean that Vhagar would have no choice but to fight on the ground due to not being able to claw or burn him right and if he melted stone 90 years earlier imagine it at an age so old he can't get off the ground. Granted I know not all your facts can't be added correctly like him being housed in the dragon pit which would stunt his growth just to show how wrong your calculations are. Lady Laena said Vhagar was to big for the dragon pits but Balerion was housed their so how can he be bigger than Vhagar see the off power/size scaling. That's why less is more the less specific you get the more you can speculate.
it would depend on their rider if compulsive or strategic. meleys did well before succumbing to Vhagar because of Rhaenys. dragons don't fight each other if no rider.
@realBatman-89 it's meant more as a suggestion than an absolute claim. I have an idea that the closer they are to the centre of their magic, the larger or more controlled could be possible. We sadly don't know much about Valeria, but that's what is so intriguing. Anyway, my mind is all over the place when I think of what it could have been like.
@@realBatman-89 actually itis the truth, in the books it stated many dragons in old valeria got so big then would end up injuring and sometimes even killing themselves when they tried to land, not even balerian got big enough to have this happen to him which is why he holds the title of biggest dragon in westeroes history not the world
@Athlete1990 Yep, I have three boa constrictors. They grow fastest as babies, and it slows down as they become adults and slows even more with old age. How does them slowing down as the grow old have anything to do with the myth that they grow to the size of their enclosure?
