I went to Bali only because I was working in Darwin Australia and had been told by so many who had travelled there that its was fun. I though I'd hate it...but booked a ticket just to tick it off the list before leaving Darwin . The week before my trip I got very I'll, probably should have been in hospital but the illest I'd been in my life still not fully recovered I flew to bali alone , exhausted and now very confused. I spent most of my time sleeping and never going more than a block from my accommodation for fear on getting lost ,really not well. Sorry for being so long winded In this short time and the few people I had contact with (I mostly ate in my room) something bit me , the energy, the friendliness of the people . Theres really something different here, I'm not a sloppy kind of guy and I really was ready to hate it. I didn't go to drink and party so wont comment on that, but it there if you want it .Over the next 6 months I travelled to Bali 5 times each time imersing myself deeper into the culture each time learning and experiencing so much, a true paradise full of the most sharing wonderfully beautiful people Open your mind and Bali will change you forever
