Some days are just perfect travel days - the scenery, the weather, the modes of transport, and most importantly the people you get to meet along the way, made it really enjoyable. I chat with the captain of the ferry, other travelers, and locals as I make head from Ubud, Bali, to Kuta, Lombok.
I take a walk around the Bali port of Padangbai and meet a random expat who recites some poetry, watch local boatmen load their supplies, pass happy locals and eat some simple warung food before catching the ferry from to Lembar.
From there I share a taxi with a French couple on my way to Kuta, Lombok before walking two kilometers to a homestay I'm not sure has a room.
It was just a great travel day.
