This is fair and honest reply. Half my friends live in BKK/Islands and other half in Bali/JKT. Both appeal to preferred lifestyle. And after adventure phase for families education in TH has far more options especially BKK.
As for food, you cannot compare Bali and Thailand in an apple to apple manner, because Bali is a small part of Indonesia while Thailand is a country, because there are around 5,300 types of food menus from all over Indonesia.😁
Yes, it's true, it's illogical, comparing countries with provinces, Thailand is only a small country, while Bali is a small island in a big country the one and only Indonesia.
I recently went to Changgu to experiance it myself after being away from Bali for a couple years, for reference I'm an American living in Thailand. I found the traffic and non stop noise pollution due to construction really killed the tropical vibes for me. The non stop sound of saws, drills and hammers everywhere, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week drove me f'in mad. Also the beach and ocean weren't that nice for swimming but it was great for surfing, also the cafe scene and community of expats there was great! I ended up finishing my Bali trip in Uluwatu which has a much less intense party scene but in all other aspects I liked it much more because it actually has better beaches, less traffic and much less construction noise. Over all I was happy to go back home, Thailand, for the better beachs and ocean for chilling/swimming, the food, quality of accommodations for the money, infrastructure and it just being a much more diverse place, it is an entire country with a mega city, islands and mountains where Bali is just one island. In the end I think it would be more fair to compare Bali to Phuket, instead of Bali to Thailand. Final thoughts are Bali takes the W for young expat community and English proficiency from the locals, in every other aspect Thailand comes out on top, just my experience and opinion 🙂
i agree with you on the notion that its better to compare Bali with Phuket and not Thailand as a whole. Phuket and Bali have almost the same vibes and size. party scene both crazy and wonderfull.. international food all around.. daytrips all within reach. and i love both!
@MISTER ABROAD in terms of beach and sea view. Definitely suggest perhentian Island and kota kinabalu ( mabul Island). Food go to pulau pinang (penang)
I visited Thailand as my first solo travel 16 years ago... it opened up my eyes and got me excited to solo travel all around the world. I'm excited to visit Bali this year and stay at LCH and explore a little of Indonesia as a solo traveler. Aloha!
please go to Raja Ampat if u can afford , and also komodo national park and sumatra , indonesia is very big country 7million km square almost all south east asia countries combined , 1340 ethnic groups, 700+ languages, the only megadiverse country in South east asia with many endemic species, very diverse country compare to thailand .
Alot of ppl are afraid of solo travel and I guess I get that but I swear it's very Soul enriching and encourage more people to give it a try. Be safe as always
I agree with this video. Especially with this sentence, Bali is an island while Thailand is a country. So let me put it into perspective, when you compare Thailand with Indonesia. The stark difference is just incomparable. Indonesia has 17.000 islands with 1.340 tribes. How can Thailand beat that? Compare to most of Indonesia, Balinese price is considered high. So imagine how much cheaper travelling around Indonesia? Indonesia has 7 lakes with stingless jellyfish. Other country that has it is just Palawan. And only 1 lake. I dan talk about this for hours and I will barely scratch the surface
Because In Indonesia is only Bali is famous for foreigner ,I went to Bandung, Jakarta,Bali, nusa penida. the problem is very hard to travel is not convenient like Thailand.
@@fanga100 It is a true, Indonesia suffers from transportation problems due to poor roads and expensive transportation within the country...and pollution of all kinds...and many problems but in terms of nature it is the most beautiful on earth 😎😘
Indonesia Named the Most Beautiful Country in the World After moving up the rankings in the 2021 Global Tourism Index, Indonesia now occupies the first position as the most beautiful country in the world according to the Natural Beauty Report.
an island vs a whole country, it's also a very tight result, like thailand is a big team and bali is small, but thailand can't beat bali easily, but most importantly, wherever you go, you will always come home
@@WilaTipcharoenthe culture in bali is just like thailand, but in other island like java you cant because its majority muslim. I would recomended go to north sulawesi or nias island, this is the best culture because majority is christian
@@unclekumars8246 i know what u think about muslim but indonesian muslim are different.. java have a lot of culture too, ladyboys, clubs, temples and many beautiful mountain like bromo or ijen.. java island is not like what u think if u know it😉
Thailand has many beautiful places, food heaven, kind people, good hotels, cheap cost, good residents, many activities. You will not get bored for sure. 😊
I think Thailand has better beach, the sand is just so much nicer and the water clearer. The really nice thing about Bali is that you can do so many different things in such a compact area. You can go rafting, surfing, climb volcanos, enjoy the waterfall, visit monkeys, hangout in some aesthetic cafe/club with friends or tour the amazing rice terraces often all in the same day!
Lombok and Labuan Bajo are laid on different islands. They are not Bali. That is why this comparison by Lost Le Blanc is misleading to compare an island vs a country.
@@upikabu1678 misleading what, his title is exactly what he talking about on the video.. But i agree that comparing a small island to a whole country is hillarious.
Lombok and labuan bajo is not part of Bali you know? And Bali is island not a country so it's really unfair to compare Thailand which is a country, Dude
It’s more appropriate comparing Thailand and Bali (not Indonesia). If you compare Thailand and Indonesia, it’d be disadvantage for Indonesia because it’s too expensive and make no sense traveling between different parts of Indonesia. It’s just too spread out for travelers. You can compare the cost and time traveling across Indonesia (1) = across Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand (2)Which one would you choose? Of course number 2.
both great option I imagine. Never been to Thailand but spent a year in Bali and hard to compare the two since Bali is just an island. Bali is crowded, but was amazing when the borders were semi locked, canggu was a great place to stay. Outside of canggu, sanur is excellent and really chill with great food and gym options. Bali in the east is amazing, the north, Amed is also beautiful. You also have the south with ungasan/uluwatu so different options. Overall, I think I will probably prefer Thailand as its bigger and you can experience the country much more easily while Bali you are limited to the island. Lombok for example is phenomenal for exploring the less touristy parts on indeonesia. JAva is also somewhere that has so many places I want to visit. Bali is great but there are plenty of other places in indonesia worth visiting
I would prefer a comparison between Thailand and whole Indonesia ;) In this case when you compare costs of flights between indonesian islands and tours, in my experience Thailand is cheaper and it is easier to organize and move around. As example if you try to travel Sulawesi and combine it with Komodo cruise and Bali plus Gili it gets really expensive, complicated and tirying while in Thailand I was able to do several trips including north and south Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai,, Koh Tao, Similan islands, or Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Krabi region with islands in different combinations. Anyway great tips Christian, I am sure they will halp tones of people to choose :D ciaooo!
@@lostleblanc Because people only know Bali rather than Indonesia, they know Bali but don't know Indonesia. When they go to Bali, they don't realize that they are in Indonesia, even though they are in Indonesia there are also many beautiful islands.
I've lived in Bali for about a year and so far have stayed 4 months in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I personally prefer Thailand to live and Bali for vacation. Bali feels so transient with all the tourists coming and going, and you can get bored of the place quickly if you've been there for too long... whereas you're spoiled for choice and variety in Thailand.
will you get bored if you just stay in phuket for a long time? if so, then it's the same, unless you say you're going to get bored living in Indonesia for a long time
Well, Thailand is a Country but Bali is an Island of Indonesia as a country, its uncomparable but i get you, and to share my experiences for both country it has a similar vibe in term of everything and the local people are just soooo nice. Love both
I think the comparison should be Thailand vs. Indonesia. Or Koh Phi Phi vs. Bali That's more fare. Bali is in one of the 17,500 islands in Indonesia. Thank you for sharing, but please make a fare comparison 👍
I would say Thailand. Just returned from there and I have to say the beauty of the island , maya bay, phi phi island, Krabi, the snorkelling in the turquoise waters..the jungles and mind blowing..I have been to Bali, not mainland, Indonesia, 5 times and I wasn’t blown away ..great lifestyle there though....
Yeah Thailand will win if you compare with bali.. but bali is just small part of Indonesia.. we also have Raja ampat, jogjakarta, komodo island, puncak bogor, wakatobi, gili trawangan, bunaken, Toba lake, tana Toraja and more beautiful destination in Indonesia.
Why is no one talking about your suave luggage ad. LOL You're in a league of your own with all sorts of skills up your sleeves! For a video of this length, you've managed to pack in so much info in. Experience really is priceless and we're so lucky to have you share yours (nicely packaged). Thailand and Bali are officially on my bucket list and I really can't wait to join the lost creator family one day and be surrounded by all of this amazing talent.
Stunning editing and great footage, this video is seriously good! I have been to Thailand and for me it was pretty disappointing, I look forward to seeing Bali one day!
I can agree with most of this apart from the safety aspect. No one I know has ever had anything happen to them in Thailand yet I do know a few people - including our mutual friend Sean - who have been robbed in Bali. I feel safe in both Thailand and Bali but I wouldn’t say Bali is safer.
I'm currently I'm Seminyak, Bali. Was almost in 2 fights with taxi drivers yesterday as they tried to scam my fiancee and I. One wanted a 300% mark up on the meter reading. Angrily demanded it. We are both very calm people and always respect locals when we travel and tip well because we know how low the wages are here. The 2nd taxi guy wanted a 7 times multiple of the fare, 700% more. I flat refused to pay. Gave him double the fare, my fiancee felt very scared at his shouting. Puts an extremely bad look on bali to threaten tourists
Iam choose bandung lembang more than bali or thailand,,,,just 100 km from jakarta,,1001 place to visit,,there active crate volcano,,cave,,forest,,mountain view,,more than 10 waterfall to visit,,river,, villa on mountain, glamping in middle forest,,and a lot fun place to visit,
Stop comparing. These two beautiful places are not to be compared but to be proud of especially in Southeast Asia. Both are heavenly lands that must be included in your vacation visit list, travelers.
Both places are beautifully amazing, but you cannot compare the two as Thailand is a country and Bali is small part of Indonesia which depends mainly on tourism. Oh, also you need to learn how to speak the local language (Bahasa Indonesia) if you call Bali as your home. How long have you been there? A couple of years I bet.
Both!...im Indonesian and i ❤️ Thailand!, Many Indonesian always dreaming to go to Thailand coz the culture, the Palace, food, tourist spot and activity and especially the souvenirs!.....ITS kind a ELITE traveling spot but on budget, sane as Turkiye
im indonesian and i never dream of going to thailand. instead, i dream of going to Japan, Germany, Netherland, UK and USA. please don't bring us all to your opinion. thanks.
I was in bali recently but i came to pattaya and i am loving it, this place is so my vibe. You can smoke weed here which is nice and the whole relaxing vibe and ocean breeze feels more Mediterranean or Californian. But there are trashy smelly areas in Thailand i hated, Patong in Phuket and and Khaosan in Bangkok specifically. I used to prefer Bali but now i prefer Thailand.
Thailand VS Indonesia ❎ Thailand VS Bali ✔ Negara Versus Provinsi, Indonesia baru satu provinsi saja indahnya bukan main, masih banyak pulau cantik lain di Indonesia.
Although I do absolutely and genuinely appreciate the amazing work you do for travellers but in my own humble opinion, you really can't compare the whole country to an island in another country. If you have compared Phuket (Thailand) with Bali (Indonesia), then that would be a fair assessment regarding comparisons. Personally I love both Thailand and Indonesia and if I were to choose it would be Thailand. But if I were to compare Bali with Lombok (both in Indonesia), many tourists would choose Bali but I would prefer Lombok. Surprisingly, I'm not that keen on Phuket compared to other parts of Thailand nor am I really that keen on Bali compared to other parts of Indonesia but if I were to choose between Phuket and Bali, it will be Bali (only just)
You missed the point here, this comparison is for new travelers who may be indecisive to choose which place to to. Although he talks about country profile or geography. It means only to catter traveler.
@@helius661 Actually I didn't miss any point here at all and I get exactly what he was catering for but in the end of the day you can't really compare a island from a country and the entire country - it is like comparing California with the whole of the UK. Even many posters said the same thing as I just did, You could compare prices and accommodations though
2:24 Of course transportation cost is gonna be more expensive if you want to travel all over one country, compare to traveling around just one island 😁 I understand Bali is almost seen as its own country, but it is still just 1 place, strange thing comparing a whole country to a small part of another country.
I’ve always had happy kind experiences with the people of Thailand however on two seperate trips have experienced aggression from the men street vendors in Bali. I enjoy both but Thailand is amazing, food, people, culture and its so beautiful.
@ajegbali8333 I just got back from Bali and depending where you go I find the men can be pushy. Thailand and Bali are both beautiful but Thailand is my favourite.

Bali is officially a province. Not only it includes the island of Bali, but also a few smaller neighbouring islands, notably Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, and Nusa Ceningan to the southeast.
Bali is an island....but still bali is the coolest kid in the class....Maybe Thailand has amazing nature views.....but nothing in the world can beat balinese culture.
Bali is an island province in indonesia , if u compare Indonesia vs Thailand , thailand is nothing compare to indonesia way much bigger than thailand of course indonesia has more to offer. because this kind of stereotype comparation that makes indonesia is so unpopular big country ever.
Whatt.? Indonesia has nothing to beat Thailand . Thailand is rich in cultures, far better in infrastructure, much better food and more safe and easy to travel all around the country. Bali is only popular for tourist that why he doesn’t compare Indonesia to Thailand cos not many tourists go to Indonesia. Numbers of tourist who travel to Indonesia is much less than Thailand . Period
have u ever heard takabonerate , Raja Ampat , Misool, Wayag , Togean , Sumba? if u never know about this please shut up. For the safety, and cheaper transport costs, I'd say BALI here I come in 2023 then Thailand would be next! I much needed this, I was actually torn in between. Thanks Christian, hope I get a booking at your new hotel.
Definitely have a different feeling of Bali being a woman. I got attacked and I’ve met many other girls who were attacked in kuta area. Travelled Thailand for months and never had anything happened, but two days into Bali I was in the hospital.
As Indonesian (chinese background), Indonesians really are behind in so many things. Their civilization is like at ancient prehistoric era. And the religion of choice (islam) has made them much far behind again.

I think there is something wrong with your video, if you want to compare Thailand (whole country) and Bali Island (located in Indonesia) you can't compare the whole country to one island, if you want to compare it should make a clip saying :Between Phuket and Bali Which one is better? or not? Not to compare the whole country to just one island like this. Thank you for honoring my country and Indonesia. W/love from Thailand :)
I needed this video about 3 months ago as I was deciding this for myself. Lol. Ultimately I chose Thailand because it seems like every backpacker and content creator is going to or living in Bali. And because it’s not a country, only an island, I thought I could get a more authentic experience in Northern Thailand and some of the lessor known islands in the South. So, I chose Thailand!
There's nothing wrong with visiting Thailand or Indonesia. there is no need to bring down other countries to praise other countries. every place has positives and negatives. depending on each individual.
