After 10 years of training, my ankles are jacked I swear-- my ankles aren’t thin or anything they are STRONG in on point, yet they need to be MUCH MUCH stronger lol it’s so much fun tho no matter the pain Edit: my ankles are kinda strong, and yet not near as strong as most people ALSO I’ve not been en pointe for 10 years that’s just how long I’ve been dancing lol
i did ballet for 15 years, the pain rlly isn’t that bad if you’re wearing everything correctly, like toe pads etc. after a while en pointe it becomes painful though bc there’s only so much you can take😭
I danced for 17 years, it's not too bad but there are days it is. And, many years later I came to find out I had joint, nerve and bone damage in my feet that can't be replaced, tore the kidney attached to my Achilles tendon, and tore my calf because of years of ongoing tiny things I didn't notice finally all happening. Dance, when done at a certain level is very damaging to the body, especially because even when taking precautions there's so many instructors asking for the impossible and forcing unhealthy practices to achieve certain goals in a small time frame.
In my opinion, I think that ballerina’s are so strong and graceful. They destroy their feet just for something they love doing! I love watching them and I do turns in my living room to hope to become a ballerina just like her!
You need to enroll in official training at a good studio if you want to get to the pointe she’s at and if you try at home you are more than likely to get hurt and it will delay if not end your career before if even starts so I would recommend going to a studio
@@someusername4129the way the calf muscle looks is exactly what ballerinas need, lean enough to keep the aesthetic yet strong af to allow them dance on point. Aside from lifts, they do more than male ballerinas and are able to do so because of how strong their calves are. Male ballerinas calves are seriously huge. You can also compare this to figure skaters. The solo figure skaters are strong af and yet their calves aren’t big but if you know what to look for, you will be impressed af
I found kpop a few years ago and I'm glad artists like BoA are finally getting some recognition. I messed up my feet when I was young, by being on pointe too soon. Loved every second of it though.❤
Ballerinas are taught to smile even if there feet are bleeding they are forced to smilw through the pain they get headaches and also vomit or get fractured huge respect from a gymnast, we also go through alot of pain but i cant imagine the ballet ones
I have so much respect for them👏👏 They dance like literal angels and dance on the hard ground as if they're dancing on clouds. They have so much control over their body and have so much balance! And not to mention their elegance😍😍😍
Ballerinas fr don't get enough appreciation , it's kinda hard to tell but we literally ballance on just our big toe inside the shoe, it can be super painful and we still do a amazing job
I was a tap dancer for 6 years as a child and always wanted to dance ballet. A friend let me try on her new pointe shoes and I was SHOCKED at how painful it was. More power to you ladies! Well-deserved.
I wanted to do ballet so bad when I was little. I would jump n twirl around. I even forced myself to learn how to stand on my toes. But there wasn't anything like that around my podunk town. I grew to 5'11"with a size 12 women's shoe. Now I'm 47 broken n fat 😢
No you're not -- there lots of styles of dance that you can learn -- even if you have basic balet training -- you can learn & acheive a flow & grace of movement that can be incredible.... Take whatever kind of dance you can -- even ballroom dancing can be wonderful & rewarding. Don't give up -- dance it out & free the artist inside! My family could never afford ballet/dance lessons -- local park district had some dance once in a while or I watched as many dance films as I could. No one is ever too old to try -- I'm 71, & broken too -- But at least I learned to "tango" (Argentine style) and can die happy! Just give it a try and keep at it -- if I can do it -- you can do it -- You're a dancer in your heart & soul - so dance it out !!!
Ive been able to do that since i was a kid but ive never done ballet but i can say it husts when you keep it like that for long periods of time so props to ballerinas like that hurts alot 😭😭
Watching these videos always makes me wish I had stayed in ballet classes when I was little, even if this happens it looks so pretty and fun to accomplish movements💖
Well I don’t do ballet but I LOVE to pretend like it and I can do the last thing with socks or something for a while because of the „heehee“ move from Micheal Jackson. Do you have any tips on stuff I could learn at home because no way I’m dancing infront of anybody?
