I absolutely LOVE it. It’s a fast moving butterfly or a dancer moving across, like multiple still shots of a time lapse, but so much movement.

Paint will always go to whichever the drier surface is (which is why paint transfers from a brush etc. to a dry canvas, but if you keep dabbing, eventually you'll pick paint back up off the canvas because the brush becomes drier than the canvas)

I did one very similar to this and I had the same problems at first. I found that it was the addition of to much white paint on my canvas. I also realized I didn’t have to push the balloon hard onto the canvas. The lighter the touch, the better. BUT, with that being said,,,,, this turned out to be a really really pretty ‘mistake’ as you put it.😊. Thanks for sharing. LOVE IT 💞💞💞

I have bought several painted on canvas's at thrift stores because I knew I could paint over them and have great texture. My favorite turned out to be a mistake, back when pastels were the rage, I was going to paint a subject that just looked horrible, frustrated I took a cloth and started wiping the paint off...the more I wiped it, the more I liked it. I put it on a large wall in my living room, when my sister visited the next time she asked about it, when I told her the story she was amazed at how beautiful it had turned out. Nothing is perfect, and if you create something you love, just go with it.

The balloon is too big and hard , it shouldn't be full of air until the maximum as your balloon is .

It didnt work because the white paint on the canvas was thinner than the paint on the dish...thin paint sticks to thick paint not the other way around...Learned that from the great Bill Alexander..

That is one of the most gorgeous paintings I’ve ever seen.

The balloon is acting as a vaccum due to the negative air pressure volume compared to the paint density. The paint is less dense than the weight of the air pressure in your balloon. You need to let air out of the balloon to stop picking up paint. Or have thicker paint with the size of your balloon. For the effect you desired to work. That would have problem solved it. You could use an item with no empty volume or negative pressure (geometry). Ie: a solid painting tool. Great video. I loved the canvas art. Keep up the great Oops. 👍🖖

One of the amazing qualities of a canvas is... if you change your mind and want it to look different you can paint it over in your next base color and make it into something you love again! The background is too wet. If you did it the first way with a dry background, it would work.
