Andrea: Thank you for the compliment. I loved making the video. Your husband, the other pilots and ground crew were very professional. That balloon flight was the highlight of the trip to Burma. I know what you mean about being homesick. I was there in Burma only a few weeks and I hated to leave. I loved the country and especially the people. Stan
Thank you Stan for the video. I was in the balloon in January 2007. It was the best experience I had in my entire life ! It is not only the flight in the balloon but also the fabulous views on the pagodas and the area around them; it is like unreal ! I went back in March this year to do another flight, but unfortunately on 2 days there was too much wind. Hope to visit beautiful Myanmar and it´s wonderful people again. Franny.
Thanks Booyah, It's a great clip for my country. As I'm a Burmese architect, Bagan is a favorite place for me. I may want to take my foreigners friends for this trip in this year.
Just wow. I've been to Bagan twice, but, I never had the opportunity to take the balloons. We locals won't dare to do it... Thanks a lot! Hope you enjoyed the country.
Thank you for the wonderful video. It's now made me book to go halfway around the world to view the same! Burma looks awesome. Absolutely amazing. Billy.
I did enjoy the country. Mostly, I enjoyed the people. All were very friendly and fun to talk to. All this noise about Myanmar was overstated and was the opposite of what I thought I was going to see. The balloon trip was awesome, but so were the people.
Hello - thank you so much for the nice video - by the way one of the pilots is my husband. We live since 6 years in winter in Myanmar and it is my second home. This video makes me real homesick. Andrea
Stan: Hope to see you again in the balloon or in Bagan. For me is the same. I love the country and especially the people too. It is like my second home and I´m very happy to go back in Autumn. Andrea
Well mate, that settles it. I'm going to Burma.. I have been staying on the other side of the border for 6 years now, it's about time I get myself over there. Thanks for the video! it made me make up my mind! :)
Ann: I'm you liked the movie and the oil. The balloon flight was wonderful. When the burner wasn't running I could actually hear the Buddhists chanting down below. It was like the scenery had a soundtrack. Stan
Thanks for this I knew I could always see video here, I used the money I brought for Ballon ride in Bagan to buy a poor family there a motorcycle. Burmese are the best part.
Looks awesome and worth the money as you might not ever have the chance to do it again. Our balloon is booked in Bagan for March and the days are being counted down.
So nice to read all things positive about the country and the people. Get fed up with reading on various sites all the hate and venom from various sections. I like you atitude BooyahStan and hope my enthusiasm matches yours on my trip to Myanmar.
Two of the people who took the flight with me, went back to Burma for a personal tour. They had a great time but the only thing they wished they could do again was that balloon flight.
I went to Burma on a our operated by Steve Webster and his company Escape2Nepal. His company made the arrangements with the Balloons Over Bagan company in Yangon, Myanmar.
I have to admit that I didn't want to go to Burma. It is very un-PC to go there due to what the junta is doing to its people. However, once I was there on the ground with the regular folk, I felt like I was doing more good than harm. Burma is one place I'd move to and away from the USA. I'd love to have a little house next to a Buddhist monastery and listen to their chants every morning. What great people.
It was an early morning flight. We lifted off just as the sun came up. I paid $250 for what was supposed to be an hour flight but ended up being one hour and twenty minutes. It was worth every penny. Don't go to Bagan without doing this flight!
no - it is a privat company and my husband is a pilot of them. The price is like every balloonflight price in the world and if you see how much it is to buy a balloon, you would understand the prices.
Gotta try this... Was this an early morning flight? Looks like a great way to see and photograph Bagan. How long is the ride and how much does it cost?
@thaibillyboy : First of all, the Burmese people are very, very friendly, you don't have to be afraid of them or of working with them. I honestly couldn't believe how well I was treated, even in the big city of Yangon. If you have the $, then hire a private tour guide. If not, then get the Lonely Planet book on Burma and use it. Believe it or not, the hardest part is making the decision to go Burma. Enjoy yourself.
Thanks, Booyah, I will go for sure. Thailand is my first love and Burma has always been my hope and expectations. But now i know i will go to visit, a little bit worried about getting about when i am there transport wise. Is it possible for you to PM me with any advise or info that might be of help. Thanks, Billy.
