Nikolai Ninja i really want one right now but its hard to find the right stuff and the snakes in the philippine so i stick with mammals and ish but i would like to own one someday
Keep it up you have made my dream come true...with your video of you telling my mum and dad that I deserve and need this snake and I sent it to them and IT WORKED THANK YOU SO MUCH plus I love your videos bc I learn a lot and I love that💞🥺💞thank you!!!💞🥺💞
luv this! i am getting a ball python soon! i have a question... i want a baby so i can bond with it but i want it to be nice and know that it will be in the future. then i thought abt getting an adult. but i want to watch it grow. so i am thinking abt getting an 8 month old ball python. is that a good choice? thx
My ball python is 8 months old now, when I got him he was 3 weeks old. If you get an 8 month ball python, you should make sure that it is docile and used to people. If not, you should go with a younger one
@@anyadelaplane-yusem1413 as long as you take it out of its enclosure at least once a week it will stay tame, but if you rarely take it out, it will be more defensive. Also I got my ball python more used to me by taking it out every day accept for when I fed it. But be careful if you do that, they might get stressed. I slowly took it out more often
@@anyadelaplane-yusem1413 and you shouldn't handle the BP for at least 2 days after you fed it. As a hatchling you feed it every 5 to 6 days. Then raise it to every 7 days when its adult. I feed my 8 month ball python medium mice every 6 days Goodluck!
You pretty much covered it all, just a few more essentials all snake owners should have. - Reptisafe to add to water - Feeding tongs - moss (to add to one of the hides when snake is in shed 😉
@@shokiito6962 Missing a working hygrometer and a second proper sized hiding place, only one of my corns old ones fitted. I use a wooden terrarium with cork background (climbing platforms included), jungle bedding substrate, ceramic heating bulb (non light emitting) with thermostat, LED light for day-night-cycle, water bowl, cork bark hide. And because this enclosure didn't include one, a new terrarium lock.
My pet ball python is coming my way this Tuesday!! I’ve been researching a lot and you’ve definitely been an incredible help!! I’ve been staying up at night watching your videos just to ease some of my nerves! But I feel pretty confident in my setup now and am very excited about taking care of Xochi 🥰 thanks!
I would say another need to have is a digital thermometer! Super helpful to keep an eye on temps all over the enclosure, easy to get hold of and very affordable!
I personally prefer ceramic heat emitters (with a lamp guard and thermosat) for my snakes. I use wooden vivariums because I live in the U.K. and it’s hard to use a heat mat unless it’s inside the enclosure which is dangerous. I prefer the ceramic heaters because in the wild the heat comes from above (the sun) so I think it’s more natural. It also warms the air and the whole enclosure is a nice temperature. With heat mats I found that the floor was warm but the air was cold. I found that my snakes were more active with the heat lamp too. It’s up to you what you choose that’s just my opinion 😁
I hope everything is OK❤️ you seemed bothered or upset about something I could be wrong🤷♀️ but you did not seem like yourself today. Love your videos❤️ Love this information! I to have two ball pythons, a corn snake and a black Mexican king snake🥰 Emily
Something to note about enclosure size; a small snake might get stressed out in an enclosure which is too large for it. I'm not sure about any specifics but i'm pretty sure that a baby ball would be stressed out in an enclosure meant for an adult. Just something to note, tbf if the snake has multiple hides it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
@@JossersJungle I'd definitely be interested in a corn snake vid. Not sure if I'd ever own one but ya never know. I'm getting my first ball tomorrow. I'm so happy I've stumbled upon your ch.
You can use the same for the cornsnake, otherwise have a look at this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Nz6lzolV5uU.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FOM3HvJFtVg.html
Great video as usual! I would really love to see another video on Kingsnakes as well. I'm considering a Mexican Black Kingsnake, but i've seen so many people talking about how their feeding response is strong and that they tend to bite a lot. It´s very confusing really, some people say it will go away as they grow, some say their snakes kept those instincts as adults. Can you maybe make a video about that?
First time watching one of your videos since adopting my boop noodle. I did research for over a year, so I have to admit it is very satisfying taking care of him and having all the information from you match up with my own (albeit limited) experience. (Including him being a picky eater!)
Hi and thank you for the information, I do need advise however, could I place a small heat mat under a thick hiding spot and not directly under my terrarium? I’ve got layers of soil gravel and substrate that would not allot the heat from the mat to reach the snake definitely
@@JossersJungle thank you so much! Do you have an email where I can show you a picture of what my terrarium looks like and perhaps you could advise on heat issue I am having after seeing it?
It's a lot more expensive than a heat mat... but what are your thoughts on a Radiant Heat Panel? Personally I like them better. They're more "natural", since heat doesn't come from the ground. They're less likely to burn the snake (with the heat mat, my BP would burrow directly down to the bottom, which makes me nervous). RHP are safe to the touch, and will never burn an animal. Plus they last FOREVER, and are much more energy efficent.
I had the rescue that I adopted my first snake from tell me not to use heat mats due to the risk of burns. I used lights with my snakes, and have to agree that it definitely stressed them out. How do you feel about the risk of burns or do you feel that there isn't a risk?
I'm making a 30 gal. Terrarium for my ball python.im doing it naturalist . what's the best heat mat for this application ...I do live in America if that helps you to help me.... thanks Charley
I live in southern California and don't have air conditioning so summers can be very hot without it. Its also very dry here and not a lot of humidity. Will a ball python be okay if I don't have AC if it needs to cool down?
Dont use light for ball python s they dont need light as they mostly live in a termite mounds and rarely see light.. bake tree branches in oven at 200° for an hour
Hello! I got my snake a few months ago now and the pet store said he was about 3 years old. I was wondering will he keep growing past this age or is he done? I know I'd need to buy him a new tank eventually if he's still growing. They're just so expensive haha.
