Imo they could be more affectionate and flirty when Callum isn't around. After all, they were close friends as teens, Johnny was there for Ben over Paul's death, plus they've slept together before and considered dating at one point. Johnny was also Ben's first crush and closet key. They haven't seen each other in years, true, but the feelings for your first don't just die off.
