This is Greg Minden's absolutely BEAUTIFUL Balsa USA ERCO Ercoupe flying at the SoCal Warbirds and Classics event held in June in Irvine California.
Balsa USA has several stunning 1:3 scale models available, and this one is an absolute winner! Greg refinished this to what could be called museum quality, and it was one of the nicest models at the event for sure!

The ERCO Ercoupe is an American low-wing monoplane aircraft that was first flown in 1937. It was originally manufactured by the Engineering and Research Corporation shortly before World War II; several other manufacturers continued its production after the war. The original unit had a cruise speed of 110 mph, a wingspan of 30 ft and a top speed of 125 mph....An awesome old airframe. Thanks to Greg Minden for crafting this beautiful model!!!

Dang that is beautiful! This is a plane rarely modeled, and what a foamy it would make. NO ONE has ever done an Ercoupe in foam to my knowledge. WE need one! Come on Horizon, or HK, or somebody...just not Banana...lol. Greg did a great job building this one. The covering job is awesome. Nice landing. John what can I say buddy...well filmed and once again you've brought us a rare model built by a master on the west coast. Thanks for sharing brother!

Thanks so much for checking in Adam and for the very kind words! I completely agree; Greg really went all out when he finished this one! To be honest, it's a shame that I didn't show all the cabin details he did. He even went so far as to have a map and other neat little details in there. Thanks JCB! Yeah, that's an interesting fact about the full scale, it had no rudder pedals! The concept was to make is as easy to fly as possible. Even had it's own type of pilot's license. I remember seeing them as a kid growing up from time to time, not so often anymore. All the best to you my friend 😁👍!

These are cool planes , the rudders are tied to the ailerons on the full scale. Great vid John .

Thank you for checking in brother, glad you liked it! The Ercoupe was a neat concept, supposedly very easy to fly, and very safe to fly. It was sold as being so safe it was virtually impossible to stall it, and it was also spin proof. All the best to you my friend!
