Last friday Balthazar rocked AB and said goodbye to drummer Christophe Claeys who played his last show with the band on Belgian soil. Thank you Balthazar, thank you Christophe for great times at AB!
Here's my attempt on this version's lyrics: I don't know what this is all about but I remember when we first met and children gathered around our bed with torches and shaking their fists for everyone was pissed for us marching up like this walking through the same streets if you screw your heart like that then I can help you for a start and leave for a change of scenery just tell me how, how long Now i know what this was all about 'cause I did hear about the pretty people coming and they're moving fast and they all talk about your looks and the lovers that you passed and the last breath they drew and you walked out (on) them we see If I consider it to stay baby we'll do it anyway, you'll leave for a change of scenery Just tell me how long.. how long.. how fucking long... How long since I got some sleep How long since she grew her hair to keep The night from getting colder for The owl living upon her shoulder (Cause) One way or the other she will drink my blood like wine The only question left is whether that day the horns will sound (And) One way or the other it just keeps me dragging on For hell knows how long (And) Now the carnival band is gone This land reaching from the riverside where it begins to the hour where it ends It belongs to me or at least that's what you pretend (And) One way or the other she will drink my blood like wine The only question left is whether that day the horns will sound (And) One way or the other it just keeps me dragging on And hell knows how long Like the oldest was sent ahead of the other In the middle of a small town where everybody sleeps with friend and enemy one after the other Yeah baby that's where we were born for each other (yeah well, fuck that...) Raise your glass to the nighttime and the ways To choose a mood and have it replaced (x6) Raise your glass to the nighttime and the ways Evey boxer, every dancer, every broken heart looking for any kind of answer Raise your glass to the nighttime and the ways To choose a mood and have it replaced (x6)
