Two totally different cities. I have lived in both. Born in DC and raised in and around DC and southern MD. (DC culture has some influence on southern MD). Went to Morgan State in east Baltimore and lived on and around ColdSpring Ln for 6 years. Baltimore is different from DC in almost every way possible. Different culture (music, slang, accent, disposition) and thats black and white folks. Different architecture. Baltimore is full of row houses and DC has a little bit of everything. Baltimore hoods are much more like Philly and NJ hoods. Concrete everywhere and very little trees or grass. DC tends to look more like a southern city hood. Way more grass and trees and not a lot of trash on the street. Shoot we even favor different types of cars outside of chargers, challengers and camaros. In Baltimore they drive a lot of ford/linclon cars. They drive crown vics REAL heavy and they love towncars. They also like to rock old 90s and early 00's buicks. In the immediate DC area you see more verity. You name it and you might see it riding around DC. The only thing we got in common....we both love seafood (crabs) and its a lot of black folks. For real, we even have different crimes. In Baltimore fools get killed mostly over drug beef. In DC most young dudes killed over simple disrespect or neighborhood beef. I don't know why its like that but my 68 year old dad from Anacostia tells me that they (Bmore) always been different. Or to use his words (bammas) lol. Last thing ill tell you, when I got to Morgan in 05 DMV folks was dressing like only we do, rocking Nike boots and listening to stuff out of ATL and other places in the south. Bmore folks was dressing like NY and Philly people, rocking white Airs and Rockport boots everywhere and listening to Freeway and Jay-Z. We just different.
DC criminals are killing over pussy, food stamps and clout. B-More is more about respect in terms of who's putting in more work. I am not saying this cuz it's something to glorify, but at least when I dealt with my B-More family coming from Silver Springs, they were more structured. Now there's no real DC vs B-More beef because the old heads have put their differences to the side for each other, but the youngsters can't get it together.
If you’re from D.C., Md or Va either you’re ancestors are from Eastern Shore Md, South Carolina, Virginia and/ or NC. We’re all cousins despite classism. Uptown D.C in the building! Shoutout to East Baltimore, Preston and Patterson park.

@@TonySnow-Frm_D.C. Yes, Rayful Edmond era was terrible. I tell people DC was like Detroit. I like Detroit, but I remember DC had a lot of abandoned buildings such as on H street NE many years after the riots.
@@supersaturn956it still is terrible it’s actually worst. It’s only Oct and for Dc to be small & 50% gentrified it’s already at 220 homicides. Back then most killing in Dc was from drugs, now it’s due to hood beef, robberies, these teens are terrible out here
I agree, as far as Baltimore looks rougher because of all the abandon buildings, however, when it comes to killings, DC has more homicides, then Baltimore right now, & Baltimore homicide rate has dropped, so they are doing much better this year compared to last year, DC homicide rate is up almost 40% and is on on pace to its deadly year since the late 90s mind you, this is the first time that DC has surpassed Baltimore in homicide since the early 2000s so DC is not playing around either, which is sad and unfortunate 🤦🏽♂️🙏🏾
@@washingtondc9290 Great breakdown and analysis, thanks I know people usually mention DC and DMV in an excellent light in terms of Black socioeconomics, however it is not all golden. There are a lot of problems in the region as well too. People unfamiliar with the area might think it is all Huxtable Cosby culture all over, not at all.
Richmond hood is like a couple blocks here and there. Really just the public housing complexes. It's not great, but that would be a boring vid compared to Baltimore.

Vote for people who actually have their best interests in heart, instead of constantly electing politicians who offer free handouts but never actually solve the underlying issues. The main underlying issue? It's more profitable for a black woman to be a single mother than have a father in their child's life because the government pays single mothers way more money, and that's not even counting the child support payments you can get, which incentivizes having multiple fathers to your children, and not letting a single one of them stick around.

Baltimore has more abandoned buildings and more crime, so stop it. They both have a high crime rate and are 2 of the worst, but Baltimore has a higher violent crime rate most years, but that can vary from year to year.

been here since 1968(DC& BAL) noughting has changed. just the modal year of cars,the number of pepole, and the level of despair. the only differancr is that DC cost to much for poor people to live in.
Not all parts of Dc is expensive. U can find a apartment with $800 rent in SE Dc. Also most blacks in Dc is from the hood and grew up on section 8….. so a lot of them don’t even have to pay rent or only $100 rent. It’s easy for blacks to get on section 8 and plenty of programs/benefits, especially if u have kids. Even some people on section 8 get put in houses/apartments in the nice areas in Dc. Pg county is a majority black county outside of Dc. Some parts across the steeet from Dc. Half of Pg is the hood the other half is wealthy. Pg is dangerous as well but it’s cleaner than Dc so their hoods doesn’t look hood

I have one doubt: is Baltimore considered as part of the DC area or is a city apart? I ask because in some parts i see they consider Baltimore and Washington DC as the same area and in others they don't
Baltimore is not apart of the Dc area. Completely different. Baltimore & Dc is about 45 min to a hour away and 2 different worlds. They have different accents, different slang, different culture and they dress different….. Dc metro area is Pg county Md which is a majority black county outside of Dc. Some parts of Pg across the street from Dc
Definitely way different… I think the biggest argument to them being totally separate is the Baltimore accent. Really you can have people born and raised in DC/the metro area who don’t say Baltimore right even though they’ve grown up right next to it or pulling for Baltimore pro sports teams their whole lives. Which feels to me like a huge delineation. On a macro scale they fall into the same area but you don’t have to go too deep to see the differences. Outside of transplants DC is much more southern than Baltimore.
Two totally different metro areas DC metro area is Pg, Montgomery county, Charles county, & northern Virginia, Baltimore metro area is Columbia, Towson including the rest of Baltimore County
pretty certain i accidentally drove through a few of the b'more hoods in this video when I visited last month. I can assure you I didn't waste any time. lol

It doesn't matter, It's still all the same area. Washington DC is a federal District, but it lies within the State of Maryland and is bordered by Virginia.

What’s the point of this video. I fw ur channel but u shoulda did Dc vs Pg since Pg is a majority black county apart of the Dc area. Half of Pg county is the hood especially the areas that’s across the street or 5 min away from SE Dc and Ne Dc…Pg hoods just cleaner than Dc’s but don’t let the looks fool u…. Well then why don't you just say that or request that comparison. This one makes perfect sense. They both large cities close together, yet very different. They both are high crime cities. PG is a county in Maryland that most people outside the DC area never heard of. I never heard of it till I started doing RU-vid. The main thing on RU-vid is what will get the most views. DC vs Baltimore is at fairly popular, and everybody heard of both. Also this channel is visual people want to see run down ghettos, slums etc. If people say it's bad but it dont look bad it wont get many views on this channel.
Can’t do DC vs Pg because Pg is a DC suburb, please always understand that, definitely makes more sense to do one major city versus another like he said that brings more views, and it makes sense because DC & Baltimore are two totally different areas culture, slang, and all 🤷🏽
