Holy shit, I was not ready for a video like this this early in the morning. First the horrible dog-fighting house and then you almost getting mugged... That was intense. I think seeing all the dog crap in those rooms were the worst part, imagine how much time those dogs probably spent locked up in there.

I almost couldn't watch this one because of the thought of horrors the animals must have been through.. The scratches on the walls and shit.. God man I hate humans sometimes
me too ppl can be so cruel I don't understand why someone can do this kind of stuff to a animal.. I cry when I see those rescue video's by Hope for Paws and other rescue groups😢😭😢
It's even more horrifying for the bait dogs. So often these people go to shelters and get dogs or get free dogs from craigslist or newspaper ads. These dogs only have one purpose...to die. I can't even put into words what I'd like to do to people involved in dog fighting.

All 58 kg of me. The reason I don't watch or enjoy many US abandoned exploration posts is because the men especially are for the most part quite largely overweight, puff and pant and have problems moving around.

One thing Baltimore City has are tons of abandoned buildings. I live near the city, in the county. But I'm closer to Canton and Fells Point. You are very brave to go into those neighborhoods. I go no where near that side of the city if I can help it. And if I ever do I keep my head straight and try to get out of there as fast as I can. Very scary and extremely dangerous places to be. Just thankful nothing happened to you guys and you are ok :-)
Your filming techniques are beautiful, your use of music also. I think its just something about the way you capture the mood or essence of the place. I most enjoy the way that all of your content is so original, everyone on youtube goes to all the same places and talks all over the footage and it drives me mad! I will most certainly be subscribing and anticipating your next upload :)
+This is Dan Bell. You NEED to get a concealed carry permit, Dan. Its not safe to fuck around in bad areas without having SOME sort of weapon that makes you more powerful than any crack head.
+The Little Deerfly In Baltimore it is not possible to obtain a concealed carry permit with the exception of police officers, bank officials, and a select few other job titles.
+The Little Deerfly Yeah unfortunately there are numerous states out there that do not allow the legal possession of a firearm beyond someone's house/property unless they are doing something like hunting; in which case there are a whole different set of rules you must follow. (Magazine & gun must be stored separate from each other etc.) I live in Arizona personally so none of that matters since it's a lawful open/concealed carry state with or without a permit. Plus I think there are certain guidelines to obtaining a conceal carry license from another state, it may be void should you leave that state and if he travels that wouldn't do him much good.

The thought of dog fighting makes me so sick and angry. My dog used to fight (previous owner was a monster) and I can't even imagine what type of conditions these INNOCENT animals would be forced into. What an awful awful life it must be. Great video Dan. Stay safe!

iamnobody2 Yeah, I've definitely paused to check out some books. I've done a tiny bit of exploring myself but I'm glad there's someone with more guts to actually do it over and over. Especially with such high quality footage.
Everyone on here needs to stop lecturing Dan on being safe. He's a big boy and I'm sure he gets sick of reading all these comments about how he shouldn't be putting his life at risk visiting dangerous places or how he needs to be carrying a weapon. There is always an element of risk involved in being an urban explorer. Some places are much more dangerous than others but that's the nature of the work he does. Sure, there have been times when I have been really scared for Dan, but I'm not his mommy. None of us wants to see him get hurt but it's not our place to tell him how to do his job, hobby, whatever. If he didn't take risks then his videos wouldn't be so amazing and exciting to watch. His videos are the absolute best. It's like watching a movie but even better because it's real. Great work Dan!!!
I don't think it occoured to him to have some pepper spray until I told him making these videos is dangerous and that he should carry pepper spray. I'm doing a public service!

if you go to 21:30 their pepper spray makes the same noise when they shake it, im guessing it was just the other guy playing with his pepper spray at 4:28
This was very disturbing and hard to watch, honestly I can't imagine what those poor dogs must have gone through in that home. Makes me sick to my stomach. Humans are evil. 😔
The first house was so upsetting to me, I held in my tears so hard I gave myself a headache. Its just so disappointing to know that people seriously value money over the life of an animal that has the potential to be your best friend, or any animal at all really.
I worked in Bmore, mostly mid-town and west side area for over a year. I can attest to the despair and downtrodden aura. However, now being away I'm finding myself intrigued with the culture surrounding this city. Maybe one day I'll finish up my paramedic and serve this city again. Thanks for these videos Mr. Bell
The very thought of sweet precious babies being made to fight is simply heartbreaking. Watching this, all I wanted to do is cry for those sweet babies that never got to know what its like to be truly loved and cared for.
This video gave me so much more dread than I thought ever possible from exploring an abandoned building that had no connotations of a 'ghost' or jumpscares. This filled me with far more dread than either of those types of videos. Well done, Dan.

Oh my god...those poor dogs. Sheer evil to keep animals to do this- I wasn't sure what that black stuff even WAS at first, but it was dog crap and urine- the poor animals being kept in those conditions, and the mad scrabbling that they had done on the door- one can imagine the hell they had to endure, being tormented and encouraged to fight- . Sad thing is, these dogs probably wouldn't be rehomable either.
What interests me the most about these videos is to imagine the lives that were lived in these buildings many moons ago, when the city was in its heyday. Busy, hardworking American families. Crazy to think how these neighbourhoods have evolved. I always have had a fixation on detroit and how it much of a wonderful city it must have been to live in from the 1900's to the late 50's.
I am sure it is still nice in the suburbs, but it is not nearly the boom town it must have been in the past, where every neighbourhood was full to capacity, with 4-5 kids playing in the roads, going to fairs until the sun set.
Here's an interesting questio, maybe even to do a video on. Have you ever had any other unplanned run-ins with other people, whether it be cops (which has happened to you for sure), homeless people, strange people, or other dangerous people?

Hi Dan. As I watch this , I am snuggled up with one of my fur babies Snoopy. I am glad she is now safe as she was a victim of cruelty. My heart nearly broke when I saw the the conditions those poor dogs were kept in , the blood , faecal matter and urine let alone the scratches and items of torture. I will never understand how humans can be so heartless. Be safe.

The intro to this video, the way you filmed it and the music was just so hauntingly beautiful. Fantastic. This is all just so sad though. Those poor animals. I cannot believe how evil human beings can be, it breaks my heart that innocent animals were made to suffer and not to mention a beautiful house just absolutely destroyed. Also I'm really glad you guys weren't harmed, scary stuff there.
13:46 That paint looks like blood, but it's not. When real blood dries, it turns brown due the iron content in red blood cells oxidizing to a dark rust color.
Another great video, Dan-- I love those old brick buildings.... from another time altogether. That brewery was something else-- I lived in an abandoned brewery in San Francisco years ago they called The Vats.... You are such an artist! Always look forward to your uploads....

Thinking about dog fighting just makes me absolutely sick to my stomach... I have a pitty that I raised from a baby from the pound, and I cant imagine in my worst dreams somebody abusing animals in that way. It gives me the worst feeling in the world...
Canine psychopath. Pit Bulls have been bred for centuries to fight other dogs. What has been inbred in them is unnatural to any other breed type. Normal dogs do not recognize other dogs as prey. Stop the breeding. End the deed.

I kept thinking, "this is the last window some dogs looked out". It was so hard to watch through my tears. People who do that to dogs, or any "sport" involving exploited animals, should be shot on site. Dog racing, horse racing...all of it. Only monsters deal with those types of activities and as over populated as this planet is, we could do without those types. Good work Dan! ***** My pets are rescues and I'm totally against puppy mills. Again, any exploitation of all animals is infinitely wrong in my book. So my having pets and giving them a good home is just my way of righting someone else's wrong. So I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. If you're saying that fighters and racers treat these animals like pets, you're very wrong. And every person involved in dog or horse racing from the trainer to the rider(for horses) does what they do bcz they want to cash in on the animal's performance, not bcz they truly love the animal. If they did, they'd see how horrible it is for them and they'd want to advocate against it, not get involved in the torture.

This is like seeing a parallel universe but, sadly and tragically, it's the one we're in. Dan, you should get some kind of award for this video; you have truly achieved something here. At the same time I hope you won't go into situations like this again. We your subscribers and viewers don't want you and anyone with you hurt or killed. It may sound trite or clichéd but I do think guardian angels were protecting you and your friend. As for the buildings you were in, best thing for them is a controlled burn or demolition.

Most of the time, youtube documentaries dont do anything to me but the way these are filmed make me so disgusted and upset. They are shot beautifully and masterfully, along with that its so raw and genuine.
I am a HUGE dog lover and have rescued many dogs over the years, and seeing this video breaks my heart in two. How horrible for them to have gone through that! And I agree with someone else's comment below, there is a special place in Hell for anyone who would fight dogs. They're pathetic human beings! And the story about the 9 year old little girl getting shot is heartbreaking! I hope they got everyone involved. I probably should have watched the entire video before commenting.
