Classic line from a great movie. If you think about it, he was speaking metaphorically. The wolf or Wolfpack is stronger in a way and can withstand the cold and has heart to go on. I love that quote and Even as an adult, I still think it’s a great movie!

Understandable. In hand drawn animation, the drawers use and impose the facial expressions of the actors that are voicing the characters in order to make it more organic and believable.

Too bad Jenna’s fictional and so are Aleu and the other pups, the real Balto never had any pups because he was fixed. I wish Jenna was real though.

Well in Balto 2 she has even less screen time. And in the third even MORE less. She may be the most underrated character in the entire trilogy..

@@arikatheprincessofhearts2043 More like the writers of these sequels reduced her screen time where she only responds to Balto, Aleu, and Kodi. I believe some of these interactions conveyed IRL lessons but never saw Jenna have a huge impact in the sequels like the first film.

My interpretation is that this really is a major part of this movie. Earlier on, he felt like his wolf half was a hindrance, something to suppress and overcome. The source of most of his problems, making him mistrusted and socially rejected, causing him to be depressed earlier in the movie. When he saw wolves in the distance, he winced and turned away. Here Boris is presenting him with ways in which it could be a strength, but at this point he just has an attitude of "yeah, whatever." But later, in the "White Wolf" scene, he is again confronted by this part of himself (I suspect as a figment of his imagination rather than a wolf actually being there), and he thought of Boris's words, realizing that his wolf half did give him strengths he needed at that moment. At that point he fully embraced his wolf half. Very meaningful stuff I think few realize - took me a long time to.

While the sequels do bring me so much joy, I can't ignore that they are both incredibly flawed. I agree with your statements, and the whole Aniu subplot bullsh*t also made people think that the White Wolf in this movie is his mom when it isn't. In fact, the White Wolf is male. I'm still dying of curiosity of how the director of Balto 2 never saw Balto 1 and yet he was directing the sequel. What?

@@justbalto9993 also, I think the white wolf is his inner wolf. If he was half Arctic wolf, he’d be more white. So i think his father was probably a gray wolf and his mother was a sled dog

I bet the original directors planned to make Balto half wolf half Siberian husky and not half arctic wolf half Siberian husky.

The thing I loved about the first film is that Balto actually looked like his voice actor, Kevin Bacon. Why did they have to screw up the animation, voice actors and plots for it? It’s weird.
