Glad to see you enjoyed this. I was able to get this for $125 and also picked up the 15 y/o Madeira Cask for under $200. I was also wanting the 18 y/o PX Cask but no way am I paying $360 for it, especially when I can get the 21 y/o Second Rose for just over $350 and I believe the 19 The Edge of Burnhead Wood was going for just over $250 at least on the site I get them from. Anyway, Thank you for your review and keep up the great work.
Sounds like an interesting bottle, around this area is about $190 + -, I absolutely agree with you I don't think it worth the money they are asking for, almost sounds like they have an uninteresting 16-year-old and they decide to make it pretty. Thank you for great review as usual.
Very partial to French Oak maturation/finishes and after the Ironroot Apotheosis Pineau maturation became a huge fan of that treatment. Doesn't sound like the value is there. Sound fantastic stuff out there for that kind of money. Thanks for the review Chris. Cheers All!
Thank you and yes I love Pineau finishes as well. Unfortunately the base and finishing length just didn’t have enough oomph to justify the $$$ for me. Cheers!
It cost 240 here and the 17 double wood is 160 or you can buy the Single barrel 15 for 145. This if you look at their line up the price is out of wack.
Saints alley bourbon, just tasted it, Awesome absolutely awesome! 107 proof smoother than most 90,or 80 proof bottles I have tried. I know that sounds strange, however it is true I could not believe it myself. You have to try it to believe it.
Thank you John, and It was a pleasure meeting you! That’s one of the benefits of using high quality finishing casks. Not only do they add complexity to the base spirit (bourbon in the case of our Saints Alley whiskeys), they really help round things out. And if you think it was smooth out of the bottle, just wait until you pour some over ice or add some water to it! The flavors really “pop” and they absolutely love it! Here’s my original review of all 3 Saints Alley Bourbons. Cheers! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MXpH6J6Cfbga.html
I'm always wary of these fancy, expensive Balvenie cask finishes. At least this one has a decent ABV, but it sounds very underwhelming. Great review as always Chris.
