I really appreciate all the extra effort you put into filming this country. Such a shame because the art scene is so unique and worth exploring. I'm so happy some people consented to your filming them because everything is so worth viewing. I love this cultural content and applaud your hard work‼️👏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you so much for recording the beautiful people and country of Mali! I am from the USA and have been following Mali's progress and are proud of my brothers and sisters. Viva Mali and black power is the only true power! I hope that they let you come back and film more.
I have been watching Mali and Bamako videos and vlogs trying to learn more about the country and also find out how it looks. And this is easily the best vlog I have seen on Bamako. You've done an amazing job Visual Poet
The Kora the English translation for the string instrument the man was playing at 12:50 is such a healing instrument to listen too. Also, when the artisan was making the pottery he made a very good point, it’s better to place your grocery goods in that which is natural not anything plastic especially something you purchase for nutritional or medicinal value. In the West, we are catching up to that comprehension for a variety of reasons placed in the airwaves.
Sid, you are my inspiration. Sorry to hear that your camera was smashed in Ivory coast. You are bringing many parts of the world that many of us may never get to see and go. Please DO NOT give up. Most West African people are not aware the important of Media so be patient and keep going. I love your videos since in India. And your are Brave !! P
Greetings my good bruh...refreshing to see you back on the road and in 🇲🇱 Mali...a country much maligned in western media...because of the balsy move of the bruhs taking care of business and getting rid of the French and their ilk...also please do a thing in DRC...just saw a really lousy vid by a racist euro there...stunk to high heaven...very ugly...I wish they would stop...many blessings to you my good bruh...please keep it coming...we learn so much from your wisdom...really glad you didn't get fat...😅🙏🙌👌✊💪😎👀
They would never grab the camera of a white person.. Great video Sid, you have been doing important work. Thanks for never giving up even when it gets tough. Salaam
No brother, you don't understand it well, you know nowadays there is a huge insecurity so people are scared that's why they are reticent from the cameras.
It's not a black-white thing. It's a Bamako thing. If anything, it's worse as a white (or at least non-African looking person) because they think you're a French spy.
Pourquoi interdire de filmer c'est un voyage riche pour tout un chaque un a travers de cette vidéo et me donne envie de venir visiter Bamako, vous êtes l'originalité de l'Afrique.
Ba fink Ba Koi Mali River The three Rivers hence Mali Baa. Bamako Bamba core or Bambo Core. Thanks again My brother now you are in the heart of Manding. The land of the Dongon Baa or Dagomba as they are call in Ghana.
I really wish I knew more about the culture and history of this country! Thank you for showing what you could, it was greatly appreciated! I have only just heard of mali (American education doesn’t teach much outside their own history)… and only found out about here because it’s somewhere in my DNA (according to ancestry DNA) and I have absolutely no idea where that could have landed but it made me curious and wanting to understand more than I do.
You are right my brother I'm a Ghanaian by birth but I leave in Mali almost 9 years I stay at magnanbougou prj I work at Daudabougou as fashion Designer maliens like people very well especially if you understand a little bit of banbana they take you like a Family
Greetings Mr visualpoet 1,This is a special place in our African historical memory before enslavement ,Thank you for showing us a synopsis of life in day to day Mali . Your decent attempted to showcase the positive side of Africa and Mali in particular is well noted here .Beloved Mali a super Resource Rich country is going through a tremendous stress right now .A suggestion here to improve the quality of your videos you perhaps could pre prep you scenery by scoping out the areas and sites that you cover .Also dont assume that all your views are knowledgeable about the places you visit .Give a little background on the places to make it more interesting .By the way Mail Music and the musicians is divine.Salif Keita , and many more Oumou Sangare. One love .You are doing a great job visualpoet1 making history ,Before we never saw African Blogger/Documentary Filmmaker in any form of media doing positive coverage of African People anywhere in the world . Big up yourself
Nice video on how people work with their hands. It is sad they do not get the opportunities they deserve to enjoy the fruit of their hard work. Many blessings for allowing us to learn about their lives.
I had to stop the vid to say, the artistry from Mali mask to the Tuareg jewelry, had a mid-evil masculinity beauty about them. These were very beautiful pieces. No doubt you went beyond the boundaries, even promoting their work and marketing the region. Excellent work despite the risk. Thanks for persevering yourself by minimizing risk and understanding different feelings and expressions about being filmed. You live to film another day!
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful beautiful video on Mali. However, you have to understand that documentary video shootings goes with risk. Secondly, the people you mingle with are not from the same culture as you. Thirdly Mali is a country that went through a lot of political instability ranging from European sabotage the french and also from their own neighbouring country senegal and ivory coast. I think we the African should try to love one another ,respect one another that is the only means to stop external penetration from outside.
This is a beautiful video. Mali seems to have kept a West African spirit, especially in the market place, despite the challenges of war. By not having the modern things, they have kept the traditional things. Many also look like the West Indians, such as Jamaicans, St Lucians, Antiguans and Trinis etc.
I'm sorry to hear about the hostility you faced when you were trying to film videos in the Ivory Coast and in Mali. I'm happy for you that things went well in Fiji. Good luck.

As a malian living in America for almost a decade I love your contents and urge you to be very cautious. We are now living in trouble times and you're right malians aren't very familiar with vlogging and you-tubing. Keep up the good work brotha 💖💖
I like your channel, I understand how it can be difficult to film various people. What you need to say to them, is how you want to Promote their country. Because they don't show things about Mali in the West, and if they do its negative. Your aim is to display Mali in a positive light.
@@DeeDee-2 In my own hometown in Ivory Coast, the day I was leaving for Mali at the Bus station, I got my camera smashed on the floor all pictures deleted, (luckily I had a back up) the microphone on top of my camera broken, and I was only vlogging in the middle of the street, not filming any particular person. Very very frustrating!!!
Wow....whats the name of the Song when the video starts.....and shouls we expect content frpm Timbuktu or Jenne .,..this country is a filmmakers paradise My advise out of your frequent brush with the public when filming.....try use smaller cameras for street walks....eg Go Pro....big cameras may be intimidating to the public
I have been watching you for a while back, the ones who are nice enough to allow you to film them ask them how can people get in touch with them for arts ,if they have a face book page or email or instagram etc and even if they ship their products and to where
If those màlian artisans just agree their work get filmed perhaps they may find good market around the world many people like such local made african artworks some foreign companies pay a lot of money for advertising their products but they get freely with no appreciation someone ßhould get them understand!
Hi brother, thank you for visiting my home country. I would like to let you know that Mali was name after the empire of Mali not after hippopotamus, Mali means hippopotamus in Bambara. To make a video in those countries, you need to talk them first and they will let you do it. Malian are very welcoming people. We respect foreign or visitor. You speak joula, you can't get any problem in Mali.
