Stammkunde im Schlenkerla seit 1977. My Uropa Georg Pessler established Brauerei Michaelsberg in 1899. My mum's photo is featured in the Brauereimuseum. Now Canadian citizen who loves to visit his hometown. Hungry after watching this. Very hungry! And thirsty. Please keep up your good work.
@@NearFromHome British Midlands you say? Bamberg is twinned with North Bedfordshire, was there first as a kid in 1978. Hey, we did our own Bamberg video (with Deutsche Welle) some 10 years ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FLkj2hlCnd4.html P.S. You omitted Brauerei Greifenklau (unless I missed it)...featured in our video. And you didn't mention the wine...beer and wine in one place, what a fortuitous situation! Prost! P.P.S. Was choirboy at the Dom and altar boy at St. Martin. The answer is NO!
Nice to watch people visiting your hometown😇I was born in Bamberg and just living a few kilometers away. I love the "Rosengarten" near the cathedral, where you have also a great view all over Bamberg🥰
On my last visit to Bamberg in 2017, I missed seeing both the Cathedral and the Beer Garden in the Fortress. But the entire experience was wonderful, as I enjoyed the farmer's market and all the wonderful cobblestone side streets for photography.
I think advising travelers to visit a Tourist Info Center was great advice! After all, if not for you telling us, we’d never have known about the Beer Guide and the vouchers. That’s the kind of info that takes a trip from a good one to an epic one! It’s why I love this channel. Thanks for that. Gotta admit, I dislike peated scotch and whisky (way too smokey taste). But, I’d be willing to try a rauchbier based on your reviews. You didn’t gag like I do with peated whisky 😂 Our next trip I’m hoping will be to Bavaria-I’ve been taking careful notes from your videos and will be sure to take advantage of your services when the time comes (hoping for Christmas markets!). Prost!! -Rob
Thanks so much! The employees at the info centers in Germany are always SO helpful. I think this is a little less smokey than peated scotch and whiskey. You'll have to try it for yourself!
These videos really make me want to visit Germany🇩🇪 It's only a short flight from Manchester so I'm gonna check out your website and plan a long weekend. Danke
I was in Bamberg last year and tried the beer. It smells like an ash tray , tastes like a bonfire. I did finish it but was the very bottom of the many beers I sampled
You’re channel is awesome! My wife and I watched it all weekend and just booked a trip to Munich during American Turkey days…. Question: for the beer tour did you need to pay or was that free at the tourist information booth?
I liked Bamberg. It was odd to me though that while Bamberg and Nuremberg and Prague had similar food in Prague it was not good and in Germany it was tasty if a bit repetitive.
Only one of us is a vegetarian, and we aren’t a German food channel. But hey, by all means, move on. I know the competition, I’ve seen their recommendations……..enjoy! lol
