Prior to Semi-Final 1, we attended a press conference with Ireland's 2024 representative - Bambie Thug. As this was filmed the day before the show, we were all unaware of the Semi result and if Ireland had qualified.
Cork-born Bambie Thug is a force to be reckoned with, a completely independent artist who has amassed over 270K monthly listeners via their unique, self-styled “Ouija Pop”. Bambie is also prolific songwriter with amassed streams of 60 million on music written for other artists of varying genres, (Cassyette, Kidbrunswick, Fabich, Fika and more), instrumentals in some of the UKs biggest nu-gen hits (Dear Goth, Petrichor, 4am) and inclusion on HBO’s Sex And The City reboot Just Like That.

oh! wow! great to hear this and certainly very eloquent, intuitive and genuine. So respect that she defends her art and expression. She is totally believable and her sincerity is very touching. Love the interations with her choreographer. Sense the connectedness. Wishing her the wine as that would push Eurovision in a new direction. I watch Euro ( since 1966) for artists that are outside of that box - that push boudnaries beyond what is usually prepackaged pop. Last time was Paul Oscar for Iceland way back when. I understand that there are the usual staidum bawdy sing a long songs...and I hope that does not win..its just more of the same. Bambie Thug is out of the ordinary. Love to all. xx

Yup, that's the place! And wow, that _is_ a very long time ago. I was in Ireland in 2016 ;) Galway is also brilliant ~ and with the Cliffs of Moher nearby 💚

This semi-final performance is the most engaging, artistic live performance I have ever seen. It is absolutely mesmerizing. Bambie is a fantastic artist, dancer, singer. I am a convert. And Matthew is an absolutely perfect counterpoint the whole performance. The dancing, emotion, choreography, everything is perfection. I can't look away

Bambie is such an inclusive and kind person As creative as they are (and their creativity is off the charts) it is their goodness and kindness which is their best trait. Even higher than their off the charts work ethic. I think that's why so many talented people are in their team. The best should want to work with the best and the good vibes that Bambie gives to everyone is their true magic.
