Just assembled 2 build plates, 4 stickers, no issues. It was easy and not frustrating at all. I would suggest not peeling back very much at the start. Like an inch. Once you have that 1st inch attached without any bubbles, remove the guides and smooth with the guides. Easy.

I printed that original gadget from Bambulab and never had any problems installing those stickers. It has to be at least as wide as the plate so you don't need to move it up and down to cover the whole width of the plate.

Hi Len. My experience was the same as yours. Bought 8 of these stickers. Had the same exact problem with the first two, lots of bubbles.Very frustrating. I then decided to try another method. I used to install the screen protectors for my cellphone with soapy water. I used the same method. Y have installed 13 so far. Mine and my brothers. Not one bubble to be seen. And it is easier to locate perfectly the sticker on top of the build plate because you can move it around to center it. I used a spray bottle with a VERY soapy solution: Water and liquid soap. A debit card and one of those little cloth wipes that you get when you buy eyeglasses. Those are lint free. Sometimes microfiber leave little strands of the material. If you want me to explain the process in detail. Just let me know.

Back when cool plate were a thing, I had air bubbles on one I installed a cool plate stucker. Bambu told me to put the plate sticker side on the bed and cook it for a few hours. The heat and the magnet took care of then for me. But I'll never bought a sticker from that day. And never will. I got aliexpress (or Amazon) plate and they work just as well imho

I agree I just tried to put one on this morning and the first part of it had multiple bubbles. If I can I'm going to just return both sets of sheets. I bought two sets. I will just look for them preloaded on Amazon or AliExpress. 3D printing has already enough work.

I’m used to work with vinyl stickers and the way you applied the stickers is not optimal. You should first apply pressure on the center and press from the center toward each side. I used this method on mine and no bubble on neither sides.

First sheet went on fine. Second sheet: bubbles. Only bought one kit. Very disappointed, because the first sheet was a test and the second sheet was the one I actually wanted to use.

I hope in the future they will adhere the stickers already, as you pointed out it’s near impossible not to get bubbles on X1C size plate.

Would it be better to cut the back layer flap off vs folding it under? With the bubbles, just lift it and reattach it. Touching the adhesive side at the edge isn’t going to make that much of a difference. Also if you noticed a bubble before pulling the backing off, just pull it up keeping the front edge attached.

wouldnt a rubber scrapper like the one you use for window tints work better? and what if you add a little soap and water like when u tint windows?

I think that would work great but the whole idea behind the video is that we're already trying to learn one skill we don't want to have to master another. Just sell the damn sheets with the stickers on them. This is all sales. look you can print the tools to install it with your 3D printer. Look we'll give you four sheets and two sides to put them on. It's ironic because bamboo is the one who made 3D printing very easy and accessible to everyone.

Thanks Len, my install experience was about the same as yours. I also have a hard time getting the Bambu Labs Matte PLA to stick to the carbon fiber sheet (the one I'm really interested in) even after modifying the bed temp by rasing it to 65C as specified. The first layer has a hard time sticking to the bed even after doing several bed leveling routines. Maybe manually lowering my Z height more will help? My next purchase will be a third party solution from Amazon.

it is hard to get the print to stick during printing. You can just use alcohol wipe, make sure you don't touch the plate. The micro amount of oil on clean skin cause problems. If you are still having problems a little purple glue stick works well. The trick with the textured plate is standard glue stick fills the texture. After you clean with alcohol, put on glue stick and then wipe most of it off with a damp towel. leaving just a thin film of glue evenly coated.

another hint is adjusting the filament temperature. up or down, for the first layer. Adjusting it up allows the filament to flow into the texture, BUT causes it to shrink more as it cools ripping it off the plate (at the micro level). Adjusting it down, reduces flow into texture, and reduces rip of the plate. filament temperature is a compromise and has a major affect on print speed. maybe slow it down for the first layer. Depends on lots of things. your filament, your room temperature, your humidity.... to many to list. That is why I am not saying what direction to go up or down.

I had the same experience with these stickers/plates. I bought two packs so I could use all four effects and two out of the four I placed had bubbles or debris under the sickers. I didn't like the fact that there are no QR code scan labels even though you're buying them from Bambu. Last build plates I buy from them.

You didn’t clean the under side of the sticker before putting it under the hold downs. Can that be a problem?

Well, I guess its back to buying the Aliexpress plates, those at least come perfectly applied with not bubbles. I disappointed that BL doesn't sell them pre-applied. Also, what is that work mat? Really like the design on it.

some of the cheap from other sources is also an un installed sticker. Some sources it is hard to tell before you buy.

i bought a metal build plate that works with the magnets of the bed with this pattern already installed for 9€, works super well. Just buy a couple of those as they are super cheap instead of wasting time with these stickers

A hint about putting the sticker on start on one side and move to the other. the one that Len had the bubbles on in the video you can see he was not totally consistent moving to the other side when it was first put on. Try to peal the minimum of the backing and JUST stick the Edge of the sticker. I can't tell from the video for sure, but 2 of the 3 bubbles are just air bubbles. One is a dust tent. (dust holding the sticker up, forcing a bubble). A hint to minimize dust is use a loop of tape to lightly touch the sticky side to collect any dust. done right it is not hard. BUT having the right conditions, and knowing the right techniques is hard. Like so many things by the time you are done you, might know how but be out of spares.

Bambu printers give you almost perfect prints right out of the box... but to get 3d effects from the print surface they expect EVERY customer to have enough knowledge, skill, AND PHYSICAL ABILITY to apply this perfectly the first time?!? I was able to apply my kit with no issues...However, I have experience installing window tint and vinyl wrap on cars. This 3d effect kit doesn't require the amount of skill needed for window tint but that doesn't mean its easy as 1,2,3 either. Bambu Labs missed the mark on this product. They should definitely come preinstalled to ensure ease of use and enjoyment for those of us who are (loyal) returning customers.

😮‍💨 you are using the wrong tool…. You need a felt squeegee. Amazon 3$. Along with a heat gun to get the bubbles out as you go section by section. Do not move onto the next section until you don’t see any air bubbles in your previous section. Also cut the section of backing off instead of folding it under(lots of hairs in there that can catch and cause bubbles). This is just like vinyl wrapping. Remember Bambu doesn’t specialize in sticker/vinyl applications. You need to watch professionals put on vinyl to understand the mechanics behind applying this stick with no bubbles. Good luck on your third set.

I don’t need to see your video as I never intended to buy these plates, it’s obvious from the start is a bad idea. I just buy plates from Temu for £11 which are superb and have lasted well past the original plates delivered.
